Today's VLog has us back on the search for the perfect farm truck...and the search is over! A subscriber and local guy here close to me gave me a smoking deal! Required a bit of tinkering to get her going.....check it out!! Hope ya'll enjoy!
WOW!! Go back and give him $500 to clear you conscience. If you don't, you're worthless
Funny you say that....so what you don't know is this guy lives less than a mile from me...If he needs help..he knows he can always call on me...we had 16 inches of snow a few weeks back...guess who's mile long driveway got a nice scraping....he's very happy to see new life in his dad's old truck that was just sitting there going to waste...we care dearly for oneanother
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Now that's worth more than any dollar can give. I take back my comment and give you a ton of respect. Ain't many like you left in this world my friend!
If you know and love the guy then why did you title this video as a possible "scam"? Seems to me that you are the scam, sir.
@@jasonstouder1171 Maybe it's a joke, geesh. People are too serious nowadays
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer that's a really nice story that's how everybody should be with their neighbours help each other out.
Solonoid is not down there.. its on the right fender under the hood on a ford follow the positive wire to the solonoid...just for reference...
That's what I thought too. Ford always has them under the hood
Ford used 2 solenoids on these trucks 1 on inner fenderwall and 1 on starter
The one on the fender well is the starter relay. It sends high amps to the starter. Protects the starter keyswitch. The solenoid on the starter motor pulls in to engage the starter pinion to the flywheel/flex plate.
glenn s can also bypass the solenoid with a metal screw driver
Jason Johnson on a ford like this you gotta jump the terminals with a jumper cable on the solonoid... different system the a tractor
Around my neck of the woods that was about a $300 to $500 truck. Definitely worth a hundred. I sold one a couple years ago for $300 just to get it off my property. The buyer was happy and I was happy with the deal. Served us both well. He will have a nice hot rod truck when he is finished and it is no longer taking up space on my property.
She's still running great!!
1977-1979 Ford truck is the Ford sweet spot for a lot of reasons, and widely considered most desirable. I'd rather have the F250 4X4 though, but $100-? Any result is a win!
I love the 73-79 Ford Trucks. In 78 they still used round headlights, except for the ranger trim level like this one. This one's pretty well optioned out with all the trim, factory AC and the bedside toolbox. The fact that it still has the factory jack, the factory battery hold down, the factory radio, factory air cleaner with the preheater tube speaks to me that this truck has been maintained and not abused. Also, a trick with a bad solenoid, get some wire or a screwdriver and jump the two big posts with ignition on. My two sense, you would've been stupid to not buy it. Great purchase. If you're concerned about traction issues on the farm, there are several options. Being this has the ford 9 inch rear axle, there are many cost effective options to put a locker or other traction device in. That coupled with a good set of mud tires, you shouldn't have any problems.
Place the ground on the engine block for a better ground. And Ford's starter solenoid is on the passenger side fenderwell just jump it across the big wire and one of the little one's.
That's awesome! Super cool old truck.Happy for you! What a kind gentleman to sell it so affordably. World needs more people likehim.
He gave it to you.
Pretty much...was very nice of him....he's my neighbor and I will pay it forward 100 times over for sure...thanks for the comment CF
that truck would be so easy to turn into a 4x4 old truck are easy to modify compared to newer ones
Damn, thats even better than my find a couple weeks ago. I bought a 1981 ford f150 ranger explorer for $200. 302 automatic, 2wd. It fire right up, still going strong with no problems at all and I aily drive it. It was a 3 hour drive home to start with and she had no problems at all. Great find man!! Love it!!
Battery jumper order should be + on the dead batt, + on the good batt, then - on the good batt then a chassis GND to the dead vehicle. Then start the good batt vehicle then the dead. Disconnect jumper cables in the reverse order.
Could add (and do be cautious) if it won’t kick over you can put the negative from the frame to the - battery terminal to kick the dead battery over. Of course, this is recommended for gel-cell batteries only. Should kick over.
I remember the day after I bought my truck. 99 dodge dakota club cab, engine rebuilt by a guy who builds engines for dyno competitions. Got it home and gave it a complete cleaning. I love my truck. Can't wait till it warms up this spring so I can fix her oil pan gasket leak
The starter solenoid is mounted on the passenger fender well FYI
lol...making me look bad ;) hahahhahha...learning and sharing...thanks brotha
That's the one thing about Ford, just pull off the small wire and jump with a screwdriver to the batt cable right there.
Thank you. I have worked on a many of these "on the road dead". hit it with a rusty screwdriver they kick every time. at least he knew to snag that beauty up.
i gotta tell i love the gauges in the truck, simple but serve for what you need.
Holy hell man! You got an insane deal on that thing! I've been thinking of getting an 82 version of the same truck here in worse condition for $800. I mean, that's still a good deal, but nothing compared to this.
Oh yea...I got a great deal! It's been more than a year and I still drive it all the time!
While reading the comments here, two things struck me, 1. most people were focusing their interest on getting a great deal like you made and 2. I was fascinated, amused, and disappointed in the variety of interpretations of value, cost, and price. As for my opinion, too often a deal comes down to who gets taken and who took advantage. For a transaction to be truly successful, it must enrich both parties and I think you fellas managed that splendidly. The arrangement you and the seller made was perfect. You were happy with the transaction, the seller was happy with the transaction, you didn't dishonor yourself or the seller, the seller didn't dishonor you or himself, you put an unused tool back to performing a useful purpose, the seller relieved himself of the burden of seeing his family member's truck slowly deteriorate and at the same time he knows he placed the truck in good hands. The snow clearing, etc are all good things to give of ourselves, are noble, neighborly pursuits, as well as being the right thing to do but at the end of the day, the most important event of all is that you each made a new friend.
That goo is from the electronic ignition box. Or the "brain box" going out at one point. Or its its now. Take that sliver box off and look at the back of it and see if it has the plastic urethane stuff. If it is just the board, replace it. Its cheap and It will fix a lot of reason crazy problems you may run into. Edit: duraspark ignition module
Dude that truck is worthy of being much more than a farm truck. It would not take much to get it running and looking like a million bucks. It is a classic.
I admit I am biased, as I learned to drive in 1986 on my dad's 77 ranger. What a great truck.
Yep she's a nice one
Waxy substance from ignition module used to insulate internal parts. Leak means module has over heated at some point. Need to replace module.
dennis langston That's NOT the ignition module. It is the voltage regulator. In '78 Ford was still using a mechanical distributor.
@@Stacy_Smith No they used electronic ignition in 78. That was the ignition module that was leaking that crap. The voltage regulator is on the passenger side inner fender.
Great find!!!!!! I've been buying and tinkering with old trucks and cars for years and that was a steal!!!! Great hobby turn money maker. Keep it up! :D
Nice and generous old farmer but put the alligator clip on the neg battery post it will start. check the transmission fluid. Clean the battery terminals and post.
It has A/C-GOOD chance to make it an on-board air system. EXTREMELY handy on farm or ranch trucks!
In my days if the truck runs it’s worth $500 and this was in the early 80’s. Great find and nice truck.
I thank so too..been out driving it today...love that old gal!
Om gosh 100 bucks. God bless him. Hes not trying to bend ya over the barrel. Have to love it. Wish everyone in America was this honest . Love country folks
HOLY CRAP THATS CRAZY 100 WHAT A DEAL/STEAL THATS CRAZY!!
That seller is quite a gentleman. What a great deal. Not a greedy man at all. Some real decent people out there. And there some real lying sacks of cow manure. Glad you find that truck, man.
Ground to engine block, not radiator support
Ground to negative terminal of battery, not engine block
ground to your ballsack. not the battery.
ground to your nipples, not your ballsack
Richard, you are correct. Ground to engine block, not radiator support. I caught that also....
I am 72 now and have been pulling on wrenches for 60 years yet still I am not a mechanic but I have had three old style batteries literally blow up in my face. I have had plastic and battery acid blown into my eyes from making the "last" connection onto a gassing battery. Was much younger then...LOL. You are very correct to make the last connection away from either battery.
The only grounded place on a vehicle that is capable of carrying "cranking" amperage is the engine block itself.
An AC compressor brace or mounting bracket that is bolted directly to the block is a good place to make your last connection.
Thanks man..great tip!
Git er DONE!!! Btw, I just paid twice that price for an old lawn mower.
Been an auto tech 42 years and always spark when jumping or charging never seen a boom!!!!
$100 are you serious, wow. Sure can't find a deal like that in my state anymore. Anything under $1k that runs is a steal.
Nice find. I once found a 1982 F-150 that had 50,000 miles on it with the 352 and 4x4 for $200. I had to put a new distributor in it, plugs and wires and I painted it and sold it for $1500. It was a really nice truck when I got done with it.
I paid $600 for my rusted out, bad front diff, wood bed, 78 F250 with same engine, but granny first four speed manual. Was glad to get it at that price. Dana 60 front diff has busted carrier. Found a $100 diff to swap out to get my 4x4 up. Drives okay in 2wd, but that busted carrier scares me. $100 definately a steal for that F150.
Doc Pedersen to
better deal,,, you have a 4 WD truck...
Josh,
I had a 1969 Ford pick up with a 390 engine back in the mid 70's. That sucker was a tank. I loved it and had a lot of fun in it. Got 10 miles to the gallon loaded or empty and I had to run Ethel in it. That was back when gas was around 50 cents a gallon for Regular.
Great find, if this goes viral too then I'm posting one about craigslist too lol...
LOL Find a bunker for sale on Craigslist
Hahaha good idea
Keeping It Dutch W
Well...you sure did it didnt ya...lol
I just bought a clean 69 f100 for 4800. It was in great condition with brakes, engine and lots of xtras. The family was awesome. I made sure to give the Pops and Son both premium cigars when i picked her up. I wish all sales went that way.
XLT is top of the line back then. the lettering placement on hood matches 79 my brother had. 77 78 had lettering in top of grill.
Nope guys rectangular headlights came in on 78 ranger equipment levels...base and early 78 had round headlights.... can't you see that truck is loaded even factory air and he said it was a ranger
It's a 78
I was taught to: hook up positive on good battery, positive on bad batter, negative on good batter then negative on frame metal on bad battery vehicle. Then after starting and running for a few minutes unhook in reverse order.
With a power wash that thing will look like new and degreaser to clean the engine nice truck 😎
She cleaned up nice for sure
Stoney Ridge Farmer yup saw your other video looked like new 😎
yeah clean it up it'd be a good looking retro truck. you should post a link to it in this video, i'm not seeing another video up for it
Hands down over the last few days you've become one of my favorite UA-camrs right up there with Wranglerstar. I love you consider how long things will last, and your investment when you purchase something. You're man, you keep doing you, and I'll keep watching your videos.
Take good care of my Dad’s truck. 🙂
What a great find! Excited to see it after you clean it up. That view was awesome
That goop on the inner fender is from the ignition module
bduff007 beat me to it. 30 bucks for a new one. Get the one with the blue plug.
Yep.. And if it's been melting away that bad, he better change it before he gets somewhere and it wont start back up.. lol.. I'v been there done that..
bduff007 It's the voltage regulator.
Stacy Smith voltage regulator is on the opposite side
bduff007 - exactly. Mine looked like that too. Had to buy a new module. The back side gets hot and melts off when the module is old and about to give out. Then it will finally short out and quit working.
If you're jumping a dead battery, it helps to let it soak up a charge for a few minutes before cranking. Also I prefer to jump with the engine off, key off to protect electronics from voltage spikes.
Great buy for good old American muscle truck 🤙🏻
Thumbs up to the subscriber that gave you one heck of a great deal on this here truck!!
Not often you see one around that's original with that nice of interior either!!
*Have a good'nnn*
Ok $100 he must be a fan
Great video man! Ignore all of these haters who don’t know the full story and are calling you a lier. God bless you!
100 dollars? Holy cats man..! Even not running it's worth more than that.
I know right! I almost tore my pants getting my wallet out!
Adam in Memphis TN it's around $1200 to $2000 for a truck like that.
I love those old truck interiors & two-tone paint jobs.
Such a cool truck. Christmas is coming, someone please buy me one!
Simao W i put one on my wishlist too
Simao W ... dude ... get off your computer chair and go find one for yourself ... The old folk have NO IDEA of the value of todays $'s ... why don't you copy Stoney Ridge Farmer and look for a local OAP on craigslist to rip off ... !!!!!
Better still ... why don't you quit being an anti-Christian beggar !
Christ is the title given to describe the Son who was chosen by Our Father to officially represent Him, and a Mass is a funeral service ... put both words together, drop an "s" and bingo ... you're an anti-Christian ... Congratulations ... you must be very proud of yourself !

boostcati@gmail.com
A 100 BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM SO SHOCKED!!! I wish i could find a decent deal on an old truck, let alone an absolute steal like you found. Good on you bro!
Cleaned up and tuned up and that truck would be worth at least a couple thousand here in Texas.
This guy is so enthusiastic and excited , he would make a great car salesman or reviewer! 👍🏼
Super good price & its American!
Just think of it this way, Mexico is in the American Continent not in Asia, bring it😠
Made in Mexico lol
LOL Toyotas are used in some of the worst types of conditions throughout the world. The 3rd world uses nothing but Toyotas because they treat them like absolute shit yet they keep on working 100% of the time. American girly grocery hauler lol that is pretty funny considering we use an F150 and a Tundra for work. Our F150 needed its transmission replaced at 115,000 miles. The Tundra is at 231,000 miles without a single malfunction.
Johnson Johnson: LOL Camry is more American than the FOneShitty
"By this measure, two Toyota models -- the Kentucky-built Camry and the Indiana-built Sienna minivan -- rank first and second. Ford's best-selling pickup truck doesn't even make the cut any more because its domestic parts content fell to 70 percent when it was redesigned for the 2015 model year."

Enjoy your Mexican made FOneShitty
Immortalkalashnikov im sorry i dont use my truck for road trips i use it for hauling bales and rocks like to see your Toyota for that
This brings me back to my childhood. My dad bought an old ford F-150 ranger. That piece of shit broke down all the time, one problem after another, I loved that rusty death bucket.
someone mentions parts made mexcio LOL. guess what, if you have a GM motor made 1973 forward the block heads and rod were cast in mexcio, machined in USA
lol.....cant argue with that can we
I'll give you 10 times that now. Drove a lot of them back in the day when I worked at a dealer. Love them.
That little miss that it has could be a fouled spark plug and or a dry rotted plug wire. A good little ole fashion tune up should be a good sound truck.
I'm on it!
How much
Hey you made a good buy. I had the 1976 model F250 that I bought new. It was a very reliable truck. After a small accident ( bagged 4 point buck) It sat in my back field waiting for me to get it back on the road for 4 years. I just did not have the time back then. I started it every so often . It sank right up to the rear end in the mud. Yet the frame on that truck was in better shape than the 1997 Chevy van ( bought that new also) that was only 4 years old at the time (2001). Unfortunately I let it go to a scraper for $100.00. Would like to have it now for projects I am working on. Enjoy & stay well, Joe Z.
$100? You stole that damn thing!!
Carburetor farm truck is best anyways as there aren't too many expensive parts to replace. Hell, there isn't even a "computer" in the 70's so you won't have to worry about all the stupid sensors that can go out. BTW, I usually take a long shaft screwdriver and short the solenoid to get it to work... Don't forget to add anti-freeze before it gets too cold. Check the fuel filter when you have the chance. I'd also pop the wheels to check the brake pads and also the wheel bearings. Since the truck has been in one place for over a year, the tires won't be very good for highway style driving but if you always keep a spare and the tools to replace it, you shouldn't have a problem doing slow driving on the farm.
Looks like a perfect farm truck. Happy for ya! Hope you put in a proper thermostat for the winter or you are going to hate driving in that refrigerator box cab. Trust me, I know...
I want that truck, would look good next to my 94 F150
Bought my ranger for one dollar ran and drove wonderful took it cleaned it up still going runs and drives better than the 77 short bed chevy I have but i ran across it kinda like you did that one by luck and kindness and honesty of a sweet Tennessee woman
How do you sell a running truck for $100?
Keith Brettell
I sold a running 2003 chevy impala for 200 bucks
I sold a running 05 Pontiac pursuit for 500. Although kinds bugs me still
I have a buddy that bought a 79 4wd shortbed on 38s for $250
Keith Brettell - I bought a running '75 f100 with 300 inline 6 and three on the tree for $400.00. runs perfect shifts nice and smooth. Etc...
UA-cam.
I love these old truck .my dad had a 68 f250 v8 three on the tree..
He taught me how to drive in that truck when I was 12. I'm 51 now
Run some Sea Foam through it.. It will clean the bugs out of it..
Great buy , good ole truck. These days its unheard of , Right on Man ! 👍
Im jealous of that buy. Great vid.
modern sealed lead acid batteries do not really ever explode, that problem is with the old fashioned batteries where you had to take the little caps off the top to add water from time to time. Hydrogen gas can escape from those caps and build up under the hood, although it will disperse pretty quickly once the hood is open with any wind.
Definite miss, with the condition, location, and everything you showed, I'd go anywhere from $800-$1200 depending on how she drives. Sitting for a year, definitely should check out the entire brake system. I would flush the brake lines and take a good look at the fluid for rust and debris. For $100 you can't go wrong, even if you have to do a little work on it. I just recently bought a 92 Geo Metro Convertable for $700, needed a fuel pump, but was in beautiful condition. It will be a good gas saver for running around instead of my 5.8l V-8 Ford van.
Yea...for sure on the brakes...I have several brake projects coming...we have a 69 ford bronco project I'm gonna start this winter too!! Nasty brakes!!
Thomas Russell if he was to clean it up good and leave it the way it is some guys here in the Adirondack mountains would probably give 3 to 4 grand just the way it is because the salt eats trucks alive here nice score he found
Jason Johnson here in central Ky, 1200 to 1500 running with bad gas in it and needing brakes, minimum, to be trust worthy. After flushing the gas system, oil, filters, tires, brakes, lube job including packing the wheel bearings, replacement battery, plugs, ... It would then be a 5000 truck in these parts and you might pull a 500-700 profit.
Thomas Russell here in the Rio grande valley like that they run in the 4000 to 5000 thousand
Kevin Johnson I'd rather make it road safe before passing it along. If the buyer can't recognise that my labor rate was much-much cheaper than most, then they can get-on-down the road. I refuse to sell a vehicle to anyone running the same roads as my family and they might do the bare minimum to get an unsafe road on the streets. If I saw it wrapped around another vehicle in a few weeks, I would feel responsible for allowing it to hit the road in an unsafe manner. If it was going to someone I knew and knew beyond any doubt that they would make it safe to drive, not just able to drive, then I may sell it to them with the understanding that it is not road safe until they do a select few items of repair, with recommendations for other repairs to make it the most reliable it could be. But I would have to have a history with them.
I remember years ago buying an old farm truck it was a 1973 Ford F100 one of the last F100s.. it had cab and flat bed. on it.. and only thing wrong with it was the shift cable was connected upside down park was down at the bottom and low 2 was on top. it had a I think was a 302 V8.. I too paid $100 bucks turned around sold it for a $1000 bucks
Why do people have to shame? It's a 40 year old non running truck when the buyer shows up. The seller had given up on it quite a while ago. It's not a $2500 truck, not even close. It's a $100 truck because that's the price the seller accepted. Yeah, he got a nice deal but most vehicles that sit that long will need TLC (time and money) neither of which the seller was willing to invest any longer. I enjoyed the video, you are just jealous you didn't find it. Hey losers, STOP throwing shade because an enterprising guy might benefit from a little hustle.
Haters gonna hate that's for sure....and you are absolutely right..that truck would still be sitting there in the weeds...now it's back on the road and living an new life....this fella lives close to me and I scraped his driveway (500 yards long) last snow storm...he knows if he needs anything he can call me....he's now a close friend ....people been watching too much "American Pickers" where a person throws a price and they offer more for it......that's just to keep the masses at bay....people hate ya for getting a steal...not sure why....they take it personal like you're screwing them....oh well....still driving the $100 truck almost daily!
Stoney Ridge Farmer 👍
Man that’s a great buy. My father bought a rust free 97 Jeep for $100 but needed like $1000 worth of parts to fix. Currently looking to buy my first car for hopefully cheap 😂
Wow, 500 views in less than an hour! Call it Bill.
Yea...ur now world famous ! Thanks again !
Mike Gilbert got any more deals? I'll come up and take some stuff off your hands.
Well, sorry. Josh has about cleaned me out. He carried off about a ton of nails and screws.
Hey Mike, What wonderful property ya got there, Beautiful Indeed!!
Thanks! It was just trees and brush when we first hiked up here. A lot of work but we raised 2 little boys to fine men up here. I wish I could do it all over.
I've got an '84 F150 with 351w engine in it. It easily does burnouts without using the brake, but shorter ones of course. You'll get plenty of power from it, just don't take it on a road trip and expect decent gas mileage. My holley 4 barrel gives me about 11mpg when tuned properly.
That’s not a Unicorn truck ,the Unicorn is a 12-valve with 4 doors and a 5-speed and 4wd
Hmmm.....now that's a true unicorn!
The holy grail. 1997.5
theninja001 any Cummins 1st or 2nd
Canadian Redneck TV In 1998 they introduced the 24valve Cummins which is still considered a 2nd gen up until 2002 which then introduced the 3rd gen. While the 24valve I can't say anything bad about although in not too familiar with them, but they do not have the unstoppable reputation like the 12valve Cummins.
Another unicorn would be my uncles old 1962 ford f100 unibody. I always thought he had modified until I seen another one on Craigslist a few years ago then looked it up more.
Good people are still out there..!! God Bless..!!
solenoid is mounted separate
Nancy Gonzalez you are a smart girl, pretty too!!!
I may have commented this before, but it bears repeating. I want a 1969-1971 Ford F-250 4x4 with a 390 (maybe even a 428!) as a REGULAR truck (as well as being a farm truck). No electronic nuthin'! Fix the ignition with a matchbook cover. Room to party in the engine compartment. Yeeeeaaaahhhh!
Sir, you really need to get someone to show you how to jump start a vehicle. You pulled cranking amperage through the radiator cradle which only has a low amp ground connection suitable for the headlights and such, perhaps a 14 or 12 gauge wire. Second you should never have your truck running when you try to crank the dead truck because the heavy amp draw or shorted starter could and most likely will damage the alternator on the jump truck.
Just the way I learned how to do it....thanks for the tip...maybe you just showed me how
Dhehgsh0suohiuoykhiuytkng
Take care of that awesome truck. My favorite year! Screaming good price on that. Practically free!
I think you're talking too much
The wear on the brake pedal would indicate the odometer has done a couple revolutions. Brake pedals do not wear to the metal at 43,000 miles.
Nice find! Farm Trucks have long captivated my interest, though I'm not a Farmer. Maybe echos of a past life. Keep us up to date on how the old girl works out!
100$ wats the catch that's a 1000 or better truck here in Tennessee all day long
Shoot dude after cleaning it up and driving it today..it's a$2500 truck all day long around here...got a good buy...turns out this guy was watching my channel and wanted his father's old truck to be put to use...I think he'll enjoy seeing it work on the Vlogs
Stoney Ridge Farmer most deffinantly has to be the best barn find I've ever seen good buy can't wait to see the future videos
Stafford Farms three to four grand here in the Adirondack mountains we love them here too
Ha! Thousand max value anywhere...in Tennessee, used car prices are stupid crazy......I bought a 1979 f350 camper special with 86,000 miles, one owner, thousand dollar book value. I traded work for it. No rust,dents...also no 4wheel drive, that sucked. Grants pass oregon
Stoney Ridge Farmer I have a 93 Toyota 2wd. I can't find parts can u help. it's body parts I need
Great find, only problem is, I’ve never seen an older ford truck with the solenoid on the starter. Always on the inner fender just behind the battery on the passenger side. If you look in the glovebox there probably was another solenoid in there. Great video though. I did like the yota vid! Also the a/c compressor on that truck makes an awesome air compressor. Put a well pump switch in line, you can use copper tubing( i perfer stainless) plumb your lines to a tank in the bed make sure of a pop off valve for safety and put a throttle set on and that compressor will keep up with any air tool at 1200rpm’s. Make sure you have a 15gal or larger air tank.
If you think it only has 43,000 miles on it, you must be the type P.T. Barnum said was born every minute
joe bloe yes you are right it surely has more miles than the odometer says but whats the point of your comment really whats it to you
What's it to me? Nothing to me, but for a novice car buyer, who might not know better, it's a warning because odometers for those years only had 5 digits...Capiche?
Joe Bloe... Low mileage vehicles do exist, I have several in my garage to include a 1979 F250 XLT 4WD with 60K original miles my dad bought new that we now own. Needless to say I sure didn't get it for a 100 bucks though, and that was as I said a family deal...
Gotta love them old odometers. 99999 miles then like magic resets to 0. I had an old 93 Ranger like that. All original and rolled it well over 300k. Selling it and the guy went nuts to see 22k on it amd wouldn't believe it had 300k since it was a michigan truck it's entire life with the normal cab corners with surface rust then the Swiss cheese rust around the beds fender wells. Frame was rust free. Original engine and trans just had a new clutch put in it a year prior to selling it. Along with new tires including the spare and suspension all around Was a good little v6 manual rwd truck.
Could be original mileage. People didn't drive pickups back then the way they do now.
Starter didn't start it first time because you made bad contact with minus on body of car, that happens when engine have bad minus grounding or bad contact with battery or when battery is dead and needs some time to get some charge.
It's a nice truck in very good condition for that years and not been totally rebuilt
Sir you said you would've paid $2500 for that pos Toyota. If I were you I would have given that much to the old man for that Ford.
I farmed a 1000 acres of produce in Michigan for years and used nothing but F 250 Fords..2 wheel drives and they worked just fine
THATS SO COOL
the solenoid on these old ones is actually on firewall, not the starter. the tapping on starter helped loosen the engaging fork.
I would love to be able to buy a truck for $100
I Just bought me a '76 f150 ranger 4x4 for $300 runs great. I got the imline 6 cylinder 4 speed stick. Thats one beauti there. Good job on your find and good luck with it. One down side to the 70's models were thr breaks
Ok i would have gave a hundred bucks. That way the first time it's stuck i can kick it with no worries.
Shoot...I'd buy it fill it full of gas and shoot at it for that price...that's cheaper than my darn pocket knife!
What an awesome find!
Sound of a dead battery not a solenoid.
Len Ward right why tf didnt he just hook it to the battery like a normal person
Fanboy Playz he told you why.
Hi there! I bought a used 2006 Dodge Dakota for $1.00 :) Had to tow it home with my F250 Diesel...but for a coupla hundred bucks later, (to get it running), I had a good running Dakota ! Subscribed!
