@t b They can say to your face, "Sure, okay, your dog is ESA certified, we know the law. We can't deny you." But another applicant who has the required income and FICO, who doesn't have a pet, gets the property. You can't prove you were denied because of the dog. The ESA certification doesn't automatically mean you get what you apply for.
@t b It's better than nothing, but I don't believe in offering false hope. I say this as somebody who has been through this on both sides. It can get you and your pet into an apartment/condo situation sometimes, but it won't get you a house. I've been a landlord (a single-dwelling house) and I'll never rent to a dog owner again. And I'm a dog owner who loves my dog.
@Janel Landlords typically charge $50 or $75 for non-ESA pets, nothing for ESA because that's the law. They also charge a cleaning fee whether it's needed or not.
Perhaps if having pets were illegal that this problem would go away. Duh! I feel that people think that it's okay to enslave an animal and call it a pet when in reality you're really just subjugating a dumb animal.
Love to hear that these little pups are getting adopted! They offer so much unconditional love and they are forever loyal!
Awesome!!!
Happy :))))))))
Dog is my copilot
I would love to adopt a pet, but almost all landlords don't allow them. We need a law mandating landlords allow pets.

So cool 😎
Some Apartments allow pets but you have to pay a few hundred dollars in fees for carpet replacement when you leave.

What a mean and heartless thing to say. Pets make people feel better. True some people don't deserve them...but the rest of us need them.
