    Isn't it amazing how self-care can take many shapes? I love doing my nails and painting, even though I'm not that great at painting, lol! it's like my own little creative retreat! This is truly inspiring! 💚

    I'm green with envy over each and every one of your beautiful creations but there is something about that plucky, yellow/green chicken that's doing it for me.💚

      Awe thank you. This chicken is one I met in person and it was quite sassy/plucky 😂. What do you think? Should I make prints of these?

      @LanaGloschatArt Yeah, especially with green being so promoting of a sense of wellbeing and equilibrium, one would think these would make for a lovely print choice. But I would say that, I'm particularly partial to a hefty dose of green! 💚

    I don’t think adding other colors to create depth or value is cheating, but I understand that comment as well. New subscriber here 😊

    I never thought of using alcohol markers with watercolour, watercolour pencils and coloured pencils. What a great idea! I have a lot of these and never use them because they bleed through. I also love your artworks, so beautiful. My favourite was the second one, green-yellow. Thank you :)

    Loved your creativity and had to laugh at someone thinking the "non colour" of white & black as cheating... 😅

    Great video - I love the rooster! I have a LOT of resistance to working with only one color as I tend to be a bit of a color maximalist, but seeing your video has added another seed to the 'TRY IT!' pile. Do you have any book recommendations on the psychology of color?

    • @LanaGloschatArt
      @LanaGloschatArt  29 днів тому

      I would say I am a color maximalist too... ha ha... but there is so much peace in a monochromatic approach or working with a limited palette. It calms my brain. Let me know how it goes for you! I wish I had a color psychology book recommendation. I haven't found any good books on the subject unfortunately. I am currently beta testing a full course all about color, color mixing, and color psychology. And I'll be diving into depth in all these topics. I think you would LOVE this course. I'd love to send you an email when its ready! If you are interested please sign up to get notified here. lana-gloschat.mykajabi.com/get-notified

    Hi Lana! Another great video! There’s never a time when I don’t learn at least one new thing from your videos.
    I have a question about lightfast colored pencils/markers. I know it’s not related to the video, but thought I would give it a shot. Hypothetical: Let’s say I used a marker that wasn’t lightfast for a base layer on a piece of art. If I wanted to sell the art, would layering over the marker with colored pencils that are lightfast and using a UV resistant spray be good enough to stop that marker base layer from fading over time? Same with if I used a fugitive colored pencil for the base. Someone was wondering this on another platform and I thought I heard you say something about this before, or maybe it was a different artist. I’m not sure! 😂 Do you know of any information about this posted somewhere? I appreciate your time! Thank you!

      you are so sweet.
      ok I'll start by saying I don't now 100% the answer to this question but these are my best guesses:
      - If the base layer is COMPLETELY covered with lightfast pencil I don't think that there is any issue at all. In this circumstance I could see non lightfast pencils/markers to block in and understand values/composition and then final details and textures rendered in lightfast medium. I would be confident selling a piece made this way as "lightfast"
      -if the base layer is PARTIALLY covered with lightfast pencils and there are still some areas shining through I am not sure how that would age/fade over time. If you are selling something for less than say $500 for a medium size piece this isn't really an issue in my opinion. Your client gets some original art that they can enjoy for the next decade without any real fading (unless of course your supplies have seriously low lightfast ratings) and for art in this price range this is a reasonable expectation. If you are selling work to collectors that are forking over thousands of dollars or making commission work that is going to be with a family for a long time - be sure about your supplies and your guarantees and do some testing and more research... and error on the side of caution.
      Does that help?

      @@LanaGloschatArt thank you Lana! You’re so generous with your knowledge! This definitely helps. I thought this would be the case but I definitely didn’t want to just guess. Your time is much appreciated!
