However, I've always believed that Decisive should not return to being the ONLY thing that really helps with tunneling and that there should be more alternatives, especially as free perks that beginners can use without buying a licensed chapter. I don't think buffing its duration would be the best idea.
I totally get your point. It can be good in the right situation against certain killers and we really do need more good anti tunnel perks since tunneling is one of the stronger killer strats but yeah either ds needs a buff or some killers and maps need changes.
I only use DS if I have a stun the killer tome challenge. It’s pretty useless otherwise. My change would be to keep the 3 sec stun, but add a 3 sec sprint burst to give you distance from the tunneler.

I was using ds once and it just didn’t activate. I got unhooked and it wasn’t activated. The killer waited out my endurance and hooked me again because I had no ds. Is there a reason it just didn’t activate?
DS is still a good perk. It's just not the insane perk it used to be. It can get great value when used near a strong window, pallet, loop, or bodyblocking team. IMO it's fine as is.

But 4 man squad that ended MomoSeventh's winstreak had 4 DS, 2 OTR and 1 DH. And as you said - it's weak against Nurse, Blight and other strong killers, but if you use it wisely it's still useful.

@@bigstick3064 They use it because comp is not the same game it has too many restrictions, DS is not a problem with only one person the problem is when you stack them, 4 DH is worst than 4 DS and 4 OR is worst that 4 DS but you can not stack 4 DH in comp, they use it because in comp everybody tunnel, and you can not just simple stack 4 dh or 4 OR so may as well use it.
Dh is the 7th most used surv perk lad and ds wasn't dropped JUST because it got nerfed, it was dropped because other perks came into the spotlight that are literally better at its job. OTR for example, you can tank a free hit and get more distance from that hit speed boost than you would get from the DS stun AND you have old IW and no aura on top of that. We did adapt, we chose to use better perks.
Personally, in my games, people often take this perk because it still buys a lot of time and the hunter can’t deactivate it. However, I think that the stun for 3 seconds is really small, when you play on strong hunters you don’t even feel it (on strong), but if you play on an average hunter it can buy you enough time. I would increase the time by 0.5 seconds, this would be better.
it just seems worse than other anti tunneling perks rn. dead hard can be used whenever, off the record has its sound and aura effects. it feels like its only niche is to reset deep wound i would either increase the stun, add a speed boost after DS, or allow it after any unhooks. that way DS can specialize in anti tunnel since OTR and DH both have effects after a conspicuous action. that or balance the other 2 accordingly :/
I havent used DS in awhile. And it shocks me when someone actually uses it because im so used to NOT seeing it. Its just a bad perk. The endgame deactivation is what truly killed it. If they would reverse that, i think more people would use it. But DH outshines DS by a landslide.
Yeah recent DS is pretty bad as a killer main. I would not mind your suggestions going live. I used to hate this perk because of how obnoxious it was. The first change of it deactivating once progressing the game was enough. When i got back on the game recently, a survivor used DS on me and the stun was so short i almost didn't notice the survivor got out. It needs to be at least 4 seconds imo
I ain't so sure about it being rarely used by survivors. I see one at least half my games. What's also surprising is that I sometimes see it by itself + DH and without OTR which does seem like the stronger perk of the two, considering they're extremely similar. I guess it's less obvious and more of a bait to trick the killer into a loss if you're confident about getting picked up in the right place for DS. It's still a top 10 - 15 perk in my opinion.

Personally I agree with you I do think they should buff it again somewhat and like your suggestion thought about it myself in similar way but I have to disagree about the end game. I think honestly it should deactivate in the end game. Too many FREE escapes in the game with old ds, I always felt it was cheap when I ds in the exit gate to buy time for othersand when I was killer it felt awful. Tunneling in the end game is not really tunneling at all at that point. It's perfectly fair in that respect I feel.

It is fine lol. I still use it a lot if I don't want to be tunneled. Like Dead Hard and Adrenaline, it functions as an extra health state, which is major for extending chases. The only buff it should receive in my opinion is to make the stun duration 5 seconds instead of 4 like it is now, but that is it, and even then it doesn't really need it.
Man if you think ds is a bad perk or that people are hardly run it, youre out of mind. DS is still one of the most used perks, especially at higher mmr. DS also destroys any non high tier killer as it is now. "butt when i DS a nurse or blight they just kill me immediately afterwards" well yeah, we call them s tier for a reason. Even OTR cant wont give you anymore time waste as DS against them. Frankly the old DS Unbreakable meta was one of the worst metas of all time. with survivors constantly trying to body block or harass the killer they arent trying to tunnel because they are immune for the next minute. Only beating the old Call of brine Eruption meta.
oh if you want solo anti tunnel ds with lithe or dead hard are the best. Smashhit works too. Overall best anti tunnel perks tho are Borrowed Time or For the ppl but you never see ppl run them like that.
@Flotter-Flo otr does more things, yes, but has some major downsides. Can be hit immediately off hook, killers can tell you have it immediately (sounds or lack of), can be still grabbed off pallets and windows, and can be hard countered by some killers and/or addons. Don't get me wrong though, otr is super strong but not an all-powerful pure antitunnel.

Survivors couldn’t abuse it anymore simple as I play both and the only people I ever saw use it were toxic trolls who desperately needed that perk so they could feel good about themselves
I'm a survivor main but whenever I play killer I just simply don't tunnel even when old ds was around so personally I never had issues with the perk, if a killer wants to tunnel they should gets punished. That it deactivates on actions is good imo but the 3s stun is very short...

But it was abused heavily it was in troll builds for a reason in high mmr its very heavily abused and used as a get out of jail free card. The best players in the game don’t use crutches for a reason and in tournaments survivors have more restrictions for a reason. Ds is a crutch it shouldn’t be buffed it’s fine where it is it teaches survivors this isn’t abusable it teaches you to use it to extend chases or buy your team time and a way to save your bacon if needed but it’s not a crutch to be leaned on. As it was in the old days it was a crutch. Learn loops learn to work together that’s the key not buffing perks to insane levels
cause the average dbd player sucks. while its way worse than before, you can and should still use it. you just have to be more mindful of where you go down to aboid using it in a deadzone.
DS is trash. The perk is locked behind a paywall unless you get lucky with shrine, you still need to hit the skill check if you get it off and you barely get any distance. Off the record is better in almost every way possible and it makes you silent.

Old DS was menace and to be expected on pretty much every survivor in the trial, a whole 60 seconds window of "fvck you". Glad its gone. Current version is kinda bad tho. Still wouldnt increase the stun duration but rather add a 2 second sprintburst to relocate, not yet sure if exhaustion on it would be balanced

Your logic it totally flawed. While i do agree it was probably slightly over nerfd with the time aspect and 4 sec stun would be better, you say its useless if the killer does not tunnel, so are you saying you want to be tunneled just because you have the perk ? DS was nerfed for that exact reason, its not there so the survivor can force the killer to tunnel by bodyblocking or following the killer around just to get use out of it, its suppose to be incase you get tunneled to give you a chance to make the killer waste more time, which it will most definitely do if used near a pallet or window and you are half decent at looping.
It's not that people wake up one day, play killer and say: "oh, I feel like tunneling every survivor I see today". Tunneling is a strategy you sometimes have to apply to put yourself in a decent enough situation for you to counter swf, genrushers and the like. There is always a reason people do stuff
@@Andrekenz I only do that when I get genrushed and I only have 1 or 2 hooks on different people. Generally you wanna reach one person dead on hook by the time 2/3 gens are missing. If one person gets randomly tunneled at 5 gens you should sit on gens as much as you can to kinda counter the tunneling at ideally end up with only one dead person and one gen missing or something like that.

ds deactivates during endgame (after last gen pops) maybe that's why, or you accidentally healed someone else or did any type of action

saw a clip of someone who had DS ready and active, and was just picked up. Then the last gen was popped. They did not survive.

cause the average dbd player sucks. while its way worse than before, you can and should still use it. you just have to be more mindful of where you go down to aboid using it in a deadzone.
DS is trash. The perk is locked behind a paywall unless you get lucky with shrine, you still need to hit the skill check if you get it off and you barely get any distance.
Off the record is better in almost every way possible and it makes you silent.

Ds deserve the nerf just imagine 4 swf with that was overpowered but leave it so dead like this is not fair, i think than ds should stun the killer 5 seconds if you are the obsesion so that can be a good change but if you are not the obsesion ds don t activate thats a good change for me

Old DS was menace and to be expected on pretty much every survivor in the trial, a whole 60 seconds window of "fvck you". Glad its gone.
Current version is kinda bad tho. Still wouldnt increase the stun duration but rather add a 2 second sprintburst to relocate, not yet sure if exhaustion on it would be balanced

If what you say it's true, then why is mmr a thing? your mmr goes up if u escape and down if you die. NOT if your team-mates escape or die, so basically the whole paragraph you just wrote it's bs. And no I ain't toxic, you can check my streams etc... to see all I'm saying in this vid it's true. So if I get targeted from the beginning of the game and tunneled in the first 3 minutes then I spectate my team escaping I should be happy?

Your logic it totally flawed. While i do agree it was probably slightly over nerfd with the time aspect and 4 sec stun would be better, you say its useless if the killer does not tunnel, so are you saying you want to be tunneled just because you have the perk ? DS was nerfed for that exact reason, its not there so the survivor can force the killer to tunnel by bodyblocking or following the killer around just to get use out of it, its suppose to be incase you get tunneled to give you a chance to make the killer waste more time, which it will most definitely do if used near a pallet or window and you are half decent at looping.
It's not that people wake up one day, play killer and say: "oh, I feel like tunneling every survivor I see today". Tunneling is a strategy you sometimes have to apply to put yourself in a decent enough situation for you to counter swf, genrushers and the like. There is always a reason people do stuff

@@Andrekenz I only do that when I get genrushed and I only have 1 or 2 hooks on different people. Generally you wanna reach one person dead on hook by the time 2/3 gens are missing.
If one person gets randomly tunneled at 5 gens you should sit on gens as much as you can to kinda counter the tunneling at ideally end up with only one dead person and one gen missing or something like that.

Bro honestly idk why this is on my feed but tf are you on seriously. I always see at least 2 ds's per game. And there were some 60-70 perks when DS was a meta perk. Now there are 10 f'ing pages of perks. Isn't it normal for DS to be less used than before?
personally I only see like 1 person every 10 games using ds and I have used it and can confidently say that it just won't really do much. The perk can be useless anw if the killer just simply doesn't tunnel

how much is the chance of this happening?if that person still got ds then it means they did no gens or heal anyone so... and tunneling means just going for the person that just got unhooked and targeting them.@@CaptToilet
