Colors and reflections on the cars are better in the PS2 version. The general graphics and resolution seems to be better on GameCube. Interesting differences. Can't go wrong with either in my opinion 👍
The color difference is so big I just can't help but feel this was a lazy job by the devs. There's no reason with the huge power difference between the Gamecube and PS2 that the Gamecube should look so washed out here in terms of color.
Saving space on the disc is reasons i've always heard, like leaving out materials and textures to save size. Materials is key to the GC's reflections on cars being sorta non existent and probably the shaders for everything looking washed out in general... shadows also got hit during that process too it'd seem..... but overall i think its a pretty well done port for what it is and it's graphics direction really still looks nice even with the porting oddities. As far as how i'd gage it, i believe it stands above NFS Most Wanted's GC version, but below something like NFS Underground 1 and 2's ports...also there is something to be said for how smooth the GC version's framerate is!
@Emerald-Bearer did they cut any content on the gamecube that effects gameplay? Missions, mods for cars, or even cars themselves? Ps sweet video took a bit of googling to find this
