I moved to Altamonte Springs Florida in 1990. I went to the mall to by some guitar magazines at the book store. The were 2 young teens talking to a guy with long jet black hair. The kids looked very happy. When the guy walked off, I asked them who that was. They go, " Dude, you don't know who that is ? That's Chuck Schuldiner of Death". I am now, but at the time I wasn't familiar with his band. About a year later I was working at a furniture store and a fellow employee found out I played guitar . He told me his neighbor Chuck was an awesome guitarist. One day we went to his apartment for lunch and Chuck was walking up the sidewalk. He introduced me to him. He was really nice and kinda quiet. Guess he was saving it for the stage. What a loss. The Orlando Metal Community really came together for his family. So sorry he went through alot of pain before he passed away. You have great taste in guitars and guitarists and play really well. Take care.

Thats because they started making guitars in shape of witch brooms. They are trying to make a comeback. They claim to be working on new shapes and models. Well Last few shapes they came up with were unplayable. Stealth is my favorite shape, sadly they don´t make it anymore.

I'd prolly paint it with a gorgeous bright translucent finish as well. maybe a green or purple? oh and when i changed the hw it would all be black cuz chrome hw pisses me off. C'mon, they knew what they were doing when they named it. All this cancelculture shit has bled into the rock world, when a noise cancelling stomp box cant be called a "cock blocker" and PC Rich changes the name of one of their most famous guitars. The "B"..... how gay is that. I get it, but doesnt mean i like it.

I swear the necks on these things are just pure bliss, Takes me back to a time before everyone became spec snobs, A good guitar was the one that felt right in your hands, Still have my beast which has almost the same feeling profile just slightly wider i'm hoping BC Rich as a whole will take note of this review and make some production models that are a bit more up to date but still bring you back to a time when spikey guitars were cool.

Chuck is also a guitar hero of mine. I remember reading about his passing and how devastated I was. Death was a huge influence on me as a musician. I also had this guitar for a while. I bought it when they first released it. My number one complaint was it is not a balanced instrument. At least mine wasn't. You could not stand up with it and play comfortably. It would always neck dive. I even moved the strap pins around but it didn't help. I ended up selling it (which I really regret now) but at the time I was in a band and I really needed an instrument that would play in a live setting. You might think about adding something like that to your guitar reviews. How balanced is the guitar? You'd be surprised how many guitars fail on that level. It can look good, play good and sound good but if you can't strap it on and jam with the boys then it can also suck. That is the first thing I check for now a days. How does it hang on the body. Just a friendly suggestion. Great video and review.

try Chapstick in that nut slot. the kind in the lipstick tube, not the gel type. take the string out of slot, scrape some chapstick off with your pick, press it into the slot, put the string back in the slot. This has been working best for me for 40 yrs! it might not be perfect, but it's the best thing I've tried. Also make sure your that slot is wide enough and smooth enough. that g string is relatively straight. you should be able to get it to stay in tune pretty well.

Chuck was one of a kind for sure. He always did things his way. Even as far as his gear goes, he went against what everyone else did. A short scale guitar. A Marshall VALVESTATE amp. I mean, who else was playing an inexpensive, basically solid state amp on the world stage? That’s what made him such a badass. Find what works for you and to Hell with worrying about whatever everyone else was doing. He was a visionary and is very much missed. And such a sweetheart of a guy too. Nice axe! Resist the urge to change anything on it. Cheers!

got two of those, both under 700. One has the fret marks on the 24th fret and the other one doesn't :)

Finally got me one!! I’m getting it for 600$, it’s coming in a month.. damn that’s a long time but it’s gonna be worth losing sleep playing night after night!! Death song after death song! Death is my favorite band and chuck has inspired through his words, it’s a shame I’ll never be able to meet him but I’m glad he existed and made such a huge impact... R.I.P. chuck

Beautiful cover dude. Agreed on all points. I’ve swapped pickups a bunch, and settled on an Avedissian Railsplitter in white, to nod to Chuck’s white X2N he had in one of his. I may change the nut someday, maybe the tuners too, but I’ll never part with it. Essential to have from a tribute to a hero musician. Thanks for reviewing! Let the metal flow! \M/

    man that's killer
I still own my bc rich mockingbird I bought in highschool(1986) and still have two X2Ns in it
its the perfect metal guitar for me playing more oldschool styles

One thing you can do is get the nut checked for proper string height and get the slots re-cut both at a downward angle as the headstock and also at the angle to the string post. Strings tend to get hung up on a stock plastic nut. There was 2 models, yours and the higher grade with Quad bridge and larger heastock decal.

I've been wanting one of these for so long, and I'm so happy B.C. Rich released a new import Chuck Tribute model! Would you do a review/comparison if you can get your hands on one of the new models?

I use a drop tune pedal which works great and avoids having to mess with strings on my guitars. Nice demo you nailed the tone well.

What pedal? I would like to try a good one, like you said, keep my guitar strung up standard and explore other tunings.

@@saltpeter7429 I got the digitech the drop pedal and it works fine. If you go further than like 4 halftones down then you may notice a bit of output delay.

I hope that sometime in the future B.C. Rich will do a limited run of other versions of Chuck signature such as his green back up or the alter headstock model that was used for the sound of perseverance and the fragile art of existence

It's pronounced "Schul-Deen-Er" That's how the man himself said it. Fun fact, Rick Derringer designed that guitar, and first tried to get Gibson to make it, then he went to BC Rich.

Hi. On short scale guitars I use 10-60 strings. It gives it that extra toughness and heaviness in the lover range. Also makes it perfect for drops. Thx for the video

This definitely is a worthwhile instrument, especially as an inspiration. I had to change the bridge on mine, the stock one is just so flimsy... Put in a nice schaller bridge, bone nut and there you go... Tuners are fine with the better nut and bridge. Personally I found the fretwire to be a little too low. I would have preferred extra jumbos, so that will be a job one day when the frets are worn out- bigger frets, and stainless steel for sure. It's an expensive business but when you own a guitar like that you want it to be right for you.

I'm pretty sure Chuck's stealth had a bone nut on it or it was cream in colour. So a cream earvana nut and a cream x2n would make it look more authentic. if you don't like the x2n. you could try a d activator x. supposedly a more tame version of the x2n.

This is only the Tribute model. BC rich also did a run of USA Handmade Schuldiner Stealths, which were basically EXACT replicas of the famous Blak Stealth Schuldiner is best known for playing.

this guitar is not supposed to be a tweakable monster. its out of the box in your face, deal with it or not. thats the approach in my opinion. either you like it or you dont
