If you really want the XF nib, MB will do a nib exchange on a new pen, BUT for a pen that is your baby, I would stick with the F because it will better demonstrate the shading etc qualities of whatever ink you use, and if you change to paper from e.g. a Mnemosyne notebook it will drop 1 line width anyway.
