This scene is from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and features Dobby saving Harry Potter and his friends from the Malfoy mansion which ends up in his death

In the movies, because in the books, Dobby appear in 4th, 5th and 6th books, Dobby gave Harry de Gillyweed to the 2nd task on The Triwizard Tournament, Dobby told Harry about the Room of Requirement, and follow Malfoy with Kreacher on the 6th book, Dooby is a bit undervalueble on the movies
I think Rowling really planned Dobby to be dead when she wrote that line in the second book so it will be powerful at the end.

In the book Dobbie’s death happens at night and it describes how Harry can see the stars reflecting in his eyes that Dobby can no longer see and it makes me cry every time. Dobby is the essence of pure love and innocence and it was just such a sad moment in the story.
He was a really major support to Harry Potter, and without his help I guarantee Harry can't survived against Voldemort (not only during horcrux hunt)

I remember watching this in the cinema when it first came out, there was one woman who began to cry at this scene. I already read the books so i knew what was going to happen and as a 10 yo i was like wtf why would you cry, its just a movie right? when the audience says "Dobby is a free elf" along with him - got me right in the feels. This was the worst death in the 7 books, even counting Sirius. Nothing hit as hard as Dobby dying in Harry's arms.
You can tell everyone in that theater read the book, I lost it when dobby said that line.

Every time I watch poor Dobby pass away I bawl my eyes out. Despite being a franchise, with varying directors, the HP movies were beautifully directed. Especially Death Hallows both parts.

Dobby’s death here was really sad, but I gotta say, I’m the books, his death was fucking brutal to read. He was the one character who continually embodied the most playful and fun aspects of the wizarding world, even as the books got darker. Reading him dying was just painful. I can’t even tell you how much 12yo me cried.
The sniffles that slightly get into the video it just adds so much more to this scene for me.

This was probably the moment Ron was thinking of when he told Harry that he would not order the kitchen elves to go fight and die for them during the Battle of Hogwarts. This is what dispelled any and all prejudices Ron held towards elves whom he saw as naturally servile. This right here.
