Hi Krithikka, even though canvas roll might turn cheaper in the long run, beginners find it difficult to cut or stretch their own canvas from the rolls. If you already have little experience in painting or wanted to paint large, go for canvas rolls. If you are just starting out with acrylics - go with the canvas pad / board. I usually prefer to do my acrylic paintings in gallery canvases and my murals (like Kerala murals) in the rolls.
I wanted to upgrade my collection and buy the 40 ml tubes but I want to buy only 4-5 tubes, primary colours and white because I am tight on budget, but there are so many reds, blues, and yellows...please suggest names of some colours I should buy
Because you have mentioned you need to upgrade your collection, I assume you already have worked with several paint colours...the best way to upgrade is to use the same colours (if the tubes are over), or the colours very close to what you have used already...there is no right or wrong colour and each artist has their own personal colour palette...for eg, some use more prussian blue and some use more ultramarine blue...both are darker versions of blue. Also, another thing you can do is to pick from one set of warm and one set of cool colours as well, this will help you in your colour mixing

Can we paint on canvas directly or we apply any primer on canvas board....
If its already primed, depending on the output required, we will either add gesso layer...or skip it totally...
