I have been into guns forever and recently starting loving AKs. Its like a whole other world inside the gun community. Feel like I am late to party. Bought my first AK two months ago. Love it. Nice collection.
CharlieJuliet Sierra go check out my video on my ak47 i got a utg rail and it is really well made no movement what so ever but it does get a little hot
AR-15 vs AK47 debate? I ask why not both? I say get both, learn both and shoot both. I myself own both rifles. An AR-15 and a WASR AKM. Both rifles have thier ups and downs. People always ask which would you take? I ask them what's the scenario? Am I lost in the plains of Africa? Walking around Chicago on Purge night? Fending off looters in a riot? Being hunted by gangs in L.A.? Patrolling in the Jungles on South America? The Swamps of the Everglades? Each scenario holds it's own challenges. Get my point yet? Each rifle will offer more advantages over the other in each scenario. I myself have been professionally trained in the use of the M16A2 while serving Active Duty in the Marines and in the use of the M4 in a Specialized unit in L.E.. So in my own biased view I may pick my AR-15 over my AKM in most situations. But like I said it depends on the situations. I certainly won't over look an AK-47/AKM in a few situations that I can think of.
Good video, I personally like the 545 pattern brakes, put ultimaks on everything, and like just regular polymer Arsenal furniture. I don’t change anything besides add the ultimak and if it’s a 47 I’ll add the 545 copied brake. I also get a better slIng.
Thankfully got my hands on a WASR 10 that pretty much came with most of the upgrades that I was going to put on it. That Warfighter brake/comp is pretty nifty. I also put an RS Regulate GKR 10Ms handguard on it since I wanted a little more reach for my hand while still saving weight. Also like how it leaves plenty of open areas to vent the heat. The rifle also came with a zhukov stock installed. I have heard several times that it is a little heavier. In terms of function, so far I don't mind it, so I am probably going to leave it on.
~I've had good luck with Tapco Mags, but I've never found a good Pro-Mag regardless of the cartridge caliper. ~I too do not like Rails. I like to keep my AK Rifles looking lean. ~I use ERGO Hard Rubber Grips on my AK and AR Rifles because of the more vertical angle. The have low-rise finger groves. ~My SLR-95 has a TWS Dog-Leg Scope Mount, while my SAM7SF uses RS Regulate Scope Mounts. ~My Mags are Steel Combloc Mags or Magpul Mags. All have worked great in my two Arsenal Rifles. ~Both my AK Rifles use CMC Elite Triggers with Krebs Safety Levers.
I don't think that makes you a Old Thud because you like a traditional AK. I love the Bulgarian 74 of yours in the middle . I think AK's are the most fun to shoot in there classic form.
I'm not an AK expert, but I love the Zhukov folder and moe handguard. I'm a bigger dude so it really doesn't bother me I guess. But then again, I love wood furniture, too!
You covered it all. I'll make two points. On muzzle devices I don't really care what's on the gun as long as it works and I do like the more traditional looking ones. On the extended handguards, I've got a Midwest Industries extended one and while nice it's heavy as hell and doesn't look right on an AK.
Cool video. I don't own any after market AK mags lol. My favorite AK mags are the Bakelite. The plum mags are awesome too. I need to get more of those. The Bulgarian Waffle mags are one of the best current production mags. I prefer the wood stocks too. The Russian wood furniture is amazing.
Ok cool. I think I have only 3-4 Plums not really sure. 3 of them are have been used a lot and show a bunch of ware. They still work though. Thanks for the offer I greatly appreciate that. I'll send you a PM.
I have an sgl21 with Manticore alpha lower handguard, ultimak rail,24mm fighter break and surefire e2 in blackhawk mount. My slr106cr has been chopped to 12.5 inches with a bulgarian 4 piece cone. The 2 piece slr rail is free floated with an upper that resembles an ultimak rail. The Jmac folder has a ctr stock. The sgl is better balanced but the slr looks meaner
Damn bro, I guess l stopped getting your video notifications. I haven't seen any of your videos in a while. Either way I'm all caught up, and good to see your vids again.
I have several AK47''s and AR15' I like my muzzle brake and it's a Tapco 3E2Q7 I can place very tight group's like one hole touching the other @ 100 yards on my M70T
I agree with Tapco products pretty much being junk and not for serious use. Except for their AK SAW grip. Thats definitely the one product of theirs that I dig.
Thanks for your video! I completely agree with you about the RS Regulate mount, and I like how the added weight of the scope and mount are near the center of gravity. I don't understand why the Ultimacs are so much more popular. I've never owned an Ultimac, but from the rifles I've handled it does tend to make things too front-heavy and I don't like that it's mounted to the hottest place on the rifle. I wish more people would be interested in the actual optics that are made for the AK platform. My favorite and one that I own is the RAKURS A: ua-cam.com/video/Mg5vzK-ONN8/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/Ffpltk0D2xI/v-deo.html It's similar to an ACOG in that it' s a collimating sight that you use with both eyes open, like a red dot, but doesn't use batteries. The reticle glows green in dim light, and often you can even see the green when you aim against a dark background when in the light, which the video I think is trying to show. Mine is, unfortunately, getting old and doesn't glow as brightly anymore but works perfectly well in normal light. It is possible to replace the tritium elements and I will eventually do this; they have a useful life of about ten years. I absolutely love that it is made specifically for the AK platform and is a perfect ergonomic fit. I don't know why these are not more popular. russianoptics.net is a guy who collects and writes about AK optics, and each article has pictures of soldiers, special forces or police using that optic. Here is the Obzor, another amazing scope. This is in front-line military service. I have never actually used one of these: ua-cam.com/video/kUxlDGU0WKk/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/kMGtcnQG08I/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/98BRnb-I3zY/v-deo.html The Obzor is supposed to be well-liked by Russian soldiers. It's kind of tall, but like the RAKURS it has a built-in side mount and integrates perfectly with the AK. It has lenses that collect ambient light to light the reticle, so it automatically adjusts to your lighting conditions, and it has different reticles for different lighting conditions. One of the videos above shows an Obzor on an AK used during a two-gun match. I also agree with you about the Zhukov furniture, although I'm on the fence about the buttstock. Since I use the optics rail, I like that the Zhukov folds to the opposite side, and since it's straight and gives you a higher cheek weld than just about anything else I've seen, especially nice f you have a tall optic mounted. It also integrates with the shape of the receiver really well, so it doesn't appear to be tacked on. I use totally stock furniture on both my AKs and am perfectly happy.
The muzzle device you have on your 74 came on my 74 as well. However, I think it looks bad ass on mine. (You might like my AK74 vs Watermelons video btw) Good content.
Live near Houston and it's heat and humidity. I've abandoned all aptics. And use my irons. I'm good with them. Pig is running... I am running.. irons sights...put the pigs down. Problem is.. ak is inside with optics.. as soon as I go outside to chase the piggies on foot the optics all fog up
How to stop this? Like I said I've gotten real good with the irons on the run.. target and myself. But I'd like a good red dot that doesn't instantly fog up
I disagree taco mags are excellent I have over 150 to 200 mags n run a lott of them hard and taco mags never failed me why do people hate them so much. Can anyone explain why people pictuarlly you tube gun guys hate them so much.I'm not a new gun guy I wad raised around them and I've been collecting since 2004 when the unconstitutional assault rifle ban lapsed if anyone can explain why I would love to here the reasoning thanks William from Pittsburgh.
Do you mean Tapco instead of taco? If so, I'll explain. For range use when you're not running your gear hard they're fine. However, when ran in a 2-3 day rifle class they get demolished quickly. The feed lips crack and split plus the rear lugs get sheared off all the time. Range ok but for real hard use during training and game time mags, they're a big no.
Of course you know what I mean sometimes I type post a comment and its jibbrish from this dam auto spell enough of the spelling why do people hate tapco mags they work great I got some 10 years old n still run fine
I can see your point tho I've had a few rear lugs break off at most 5 I don't even think that many so I never considered it a systemic issue but i have had that happen good point but to me out of a 100 200 mags somthing will happen.yo bro I would have commented back earlier but I just got my first personal e mail and I checked it this morning n I seen a bunch of replies sorry I'm 36 and don't own a cell phone so this stuff is new to me bro
I have been into guns forever and recently starting loving AKs. Its like a whole other world inside the gun community. Feel like I am late to party. Bought my first AK two months ago. Love it.
Nice collection.
Welcome brother better late than never am owner since 2005
I liked this video! I love seeing other peoples AKs.
CharlieJuliet Sierra go check out my video on my ak47 i got a utg rail and it is really well made no movement what so ever but it does get a little hot
Your AK are beautiful , I like running mine like Russian special forces extended rails and folding zenitco stock!

Marine Veteran USA I like both, but I prefer my ak. Something about an old combloc soviet weapon with wiod that does it for me
I like my AKs traditional too! Love the wood on the middle one. Excellent video.

Dude! Very well presented, articulated & concise!
Subbed ... I like to keep my Ak’s sort of original stock looking for sure, especially with authentic wood furniture 👍🏼

Thanks for video. Appreciate your honest and no bullshit videos.

Tap on g2 triggers are great. I have been using it for a couple of years
I love that trigger... tapco makes good stuff idk what this guy is talking about
“They tend to be fatter up here near the lips”. Worth watching the entire video, just for a few of those solid mag size lines 🤘🏻
I'm not an AK expert, but I love the Zhukov folder and moe handguard. I'm a bigger dude so it really doesn't bother me I guess. But then again, I love wood furniture, too!
Yeah man. Lots of dudes like the Zhukov stuff. If it works for you then rock it.
Very informative. Thank You.
Hello to gray cat at 6:12 in video :)
That HSP Thorntail looks like a good setup
You covered it all. I'll make two points. On muzzle devices I don't really care what's on the gun as long as it works and I do like the more traditional looking ones. shotgunshooter All very true.
Bah, ha, ha!!! @5:45, Kitty says, :Give me back my shemaug."

metaltrooper62 You need a Plum ? Pm me your info again and I'll send one your way.
Ok cool. I think I have only 3-4 Plums not really sure. 3 of them are have been used a lot and show a bunch of ware. They still work though. Thanks for the offer I greatly appreciate that. I'll send you a PM.
My mak 90 has a muzzle brake. It had a welded lug over the threads, I dremeled that bastard off, and threw a brake on.
I know this older vid but glad.i stumbled across your channel! Subbed ! Love AKs! Great advice and info!
Mil Surp is the word I believe you were looking for!!
Full Metal jacket 88 Yep. Where were you when I needed you? Lol
Nice.
Damn bro, I guess l stopped getting your video notifications. I haven't seen any of your videos in a while. Either way I'm all caught up, and good to see your vids again.
Normally like most magpul stuff but don"t like the design on the stock/forend for the AK
I have several AK47''s and AR15' I like my muzzle brake and it's a Tapco 3E2Q7 I can place very tight group's like one hole touching the other @ 100 yards on my M70T
👍
I agree with Tapco products pretty much being junk and not for serious use. Except for their AK SAW grip. Thats definitely the one product of theirs that I dig.
Tap co and pro mag I was thinking Gucci
I use tapco retaining plates but that’s it.
I like there triggers

To improve accuracy...loctite your muzzle device's
I'm looking for modular furniture for my ak like an ak 12 any recommendations
RS Regulate makes a nice looking, light weight M-Lock AK rail
K2 vs Moe ak grip which is your favorite....
Iron Horse On AK's I don't have much of a preference. On AR's the K2.
Wasn’t there a tapco product that Yeager said want that bad? Was it the mags?
Maybe, can't remember.
But I'd like a good red dot that doesn't instantly fog up
Put Cat Crap spray on both lenses ot your red dot. Works well for me keeping it from fogging up
Good vid!
Do you still have your Draco Pistol?
Jessi Taylor Sold it.
Damn, that thing was nice. What made you want to let go of it?
cattalkbmx Needed drug money, lol. Just lost interest after I got my 74. Used money from it to get the MCX.
LOL! The 74 looks sweet w/ that wood. I look forward to seeing that Ironwood furniture and how you finish it out.
Great video bro'!
Nice vid!
I still thinkTapco mags are ok for range time
eltenda fabrizio I agree that for range use tapco mags seem to work ok.
Greg Gagnone thanks !i did a few video about Ak and mags of my you wanna check them out
eltenda fabrizio You're right. Good range mags.
Capo Jay thanks bro
I think they have a couple of decent muzzle devices as well.
wanna sell a bakelite ? 👏
