I feel they are a bit more useful to show in poor light as it’s easier to lose your bearings - sometimes there is method on my madness !

The return to home route and the AI home point should be standard software safety features, so should way points. Shadow thing is nice but not needed if you use a cross hair (which is already available) DJI making small hardware changes but charging a hell of a lot for new software.
Still pretty pricy for anything less than a dedicated hobbyist with money at hand. Features indeed are a significant upgrade to the current crop of DJI mini offerings.

The route to home AR is the most useful when using optimised route back to the home point as the drone does not fly up high to the preset height before returning , the drone also start lowering in height as it get nearer to home , so would be hand to see if a large tower etc was going to be in your way.

I have the mini 2 the mini 3 pro and air 2s and by far the worst video clips come from the mini 2 compared to my others. It flies great but video leaves a lot to be desired on the mini 2.

Well, I keep trying to find out how to turn on this green AR path. Right now, when I do the RTM, all I see is the normal returning path activity where it turns to a heading towards home, and it just flies directly there. Never have I seen the path you speak of, (although I would love finding out how to turn it on or off.) Thanks for the great assistance!
Hi I recently bought a dji mini 4 pro, when I tried at night, RTH was not showing in the RC 2 remote. Wht should I do to enable the RTH feature at night?

Gavin what is causing, compass calibration error at night. Couldn't take off at all due to compass error. Is it night mode being switched on, is there a way to avoid error warning?
Gavin, could you have a look at the screen resolution of your screen recording of the RC2. It seems to me that it is now better than the low screen recording resolution of the old RC. Is that correct? Greetings from the Netherlands
Hi Ronald, hope you’re well, for starters it should be better as it is ocusync 4 so you get 60fps however I will check the resolution, this was from my iPhone with the RC/N2

I agree with you 100% it’s just another thing that takes your concentration away I turned it off I like the new home point and the drone shadow to keep you on point when landing your drone
I turned that shadow off also.
I like the AR visuals. Think that the mini 3 p. Is capable in a future update or does it not have software?
for commercial reasons i'm pretty sure, DJI won't upgrade those features to the mini2 and/or mini3pro, coz that wd 'kill' the sales of the mini4pro. as simple as that.

I bought new Mini 4 pro and I put 4K sd 256G , but my video stop at 2 minute and 34 second all the time even I remember I record my fly over 5 minute.. it's happen 3 rd time now.. do I need setting or something wrong with my new drone.. please help.. thanks again
another great video Gavinhr, could you do a signal strength test of the mini 4 pro vs the mini 3 pro ? as in, fly in those places you normally lose signal with the mini 3 pro and compare it with the mini 4 pro :) as that's probably the only reason for upgrading, as all the 360 sensors selling piont just means more sensors you cant trust lol ........... hope you can do a signal strength test in the near future 😉

Great Vid Gavin. I got mine only managed a quick flight as gales/wind. On the screen next to signal strength there is a new symbol. I don’t suppose you know what it is. I will hopefully find out just need Florida weather in Derbyshire
What drone do you have now? The new icon is for the obstacle avoidance :) yeah that would be nice! Blowing like hell here on the east coast!

Does the Mini 4 Pro have Air Sense to tell you if there is an aircraft in the immediate area like the Air 3 does?
Is that a form of Targeting?
So basically we have all these features downloaded & taking up unnecessary space on the mini 3 pro plus way points but dji are been tite by locking them away so we buy mini 4 pro when all these features would work perfectly fine on the mini 3 pro.

Right - found the answer; Aircraft firmware needs to be updated from v01.00.0200. v01.00.0100 doesn't have it.
I'm new to drones and thinking about buying this one. What happens if battery power gets too low for the drone to return? Or does it automatically know how much battery it needs to return and overides the user?

sounds great only thing is can only reach 120m at least in EU might be a deal breaker for me im in Canada so ill have to check the limitation , as mentioned before i crash my M3P a while back so im not sure what to do
Well Rick, your batteries will work in this drone so it’s well worth considering! I believe the 120m will only be an EU issue as Canada isn’t adopting the C labels like the EU. Here in the UK I can fly above 120m if needed no problem. I’m sure you would like it
It's only EU limitation (so you should be OK). Just one note regarding using old batteries (from M3P). Even smaller M3P battery (not the plus 3850mAh but original one) has few grams more that new for M4P. Which means that if you use M3P standard battery in M4P, the weight will get above 250g (around 253-255g) and it'll no longer be under 250g drone (will all consequences like IDs, flight limitations etc.).
@sebastiannovotny8198 hi there, yes indeed I made a video advising that yesterday, on the plus side you can fit the mini4 batteries in the mini3 and then able to fit a strobe light and stay at 249g
@@GAVINHR Actually that's great idea (I have strobe and had to broke this rule to fly safely in low light).
What’s the range like? My mini 3 only does 4km at 50ft will the rc2 be any better? Although I’ll probably need better strobes if it does.
City range I’m finding pretty perfect, unfortunately for political reasons I simply can’t fly and publish videos at those sort of distances I’m sure you understand, it’s the 5.2ghz frequency that’s the real game changer as it’s pretty much feee with no interference, saying that 4km at only 50ft seems impressive!
@@GAVINHRsounds like you need some strobes. I fly a lot pre sun rise and the strobes are my limit at 4K as long as I’m careful to point the controller correctly, Was hoping for better range so

I am going do a range test on mine but will have to have the drone on an object and not flying to see how far the video goes in an open space. to be legal

I don’t quite understand how you can fly out as far as the video depicts and retain VLOS as one is supposed to under CAA rules?
What is unclear? How far does the video show I’ve flown away?
Does the air 3 have that? I didn't notice if it did?

Is the 120m limit able to be bypassed? If you're next to a 200m high hill /cliff you can fly 120m above the nearest part of hill even if that's more than 120m above the take off point.
No sadly it’s not possible, you would have to land then take off again, there is however a way round it, drone tweaks software can remove the 120m limit in Europe
@@GAVINHR seems a bit of an oversight that reinforces the confusion of so many new pilots who think the limit is 120m above takeoff. Likewise if you're on the top of the hill when you launch the 120m limit is going to allow you to fly higher that the restrictions allow (which iirc are the same across the UK and the whole of Europe) when you fly away from the hill. Anywhere vaguely hilly the restriction is either not going to stop you breaking the rules or restrict you unnecessarily.
Maybe if someone will create the hack (but then it's risk for your waranty), but otherwise as @GAVINHR said it is not and won't be possible (and DJI will not change this). It's because in EU C0 class drones (under 250g) will be restricted to max 120m above take-off point level from 2024 (and DJI already implemented it for M4P from beginning as it's C0 classified drone - this limitation will be added also into app for M3P later this year (it's also C0 certified) but you can get around that by not installing that update and stitching to last version without this restriction).

Sorry daz these novelty features are like my car self parking and its heads up display etc bells and whistles ,at the end of the day min3pro and 4pro gets you up in the air and take pic alike

I have heard that in Europe they lowered the maximum altitude from 500m to 120m. Is that the case in uk
No the UK is still 500m, when I perform the precision landing test in this video I show the RTH height and you can see I could move the slider higher if needed. It’s limited in EASA states as part of the C0 labelling
I’m upgrading from a Mini 2 but I don’t need any of these gimmick ideas. O4 and the obstacle avoidance are where it’s at. It’s just let down by the firmware and main issue as I will be travelling in Europe soon
O4 will make a big difference certainly, I’ll be testing that shortly

@@GAVINHR I'm new to the game. I'm actually a Pilot for American Airlines and all my friends are putting the fear in god into me about keeping the Drone in sight. I just bought a Mini 2 SE and Now looking at the Mini 4. I just finished a recreational test here in the United States and they bashed into the Line of sight but the drone is so damn small when it gets to 100' it actally hard to see. Hopefully those rules will be relaxed in the future.
