Its not difficult to find videos of BYD EVs buring down, having catastophic failures and claiming lives. It was probably a poor try to justify lower wages for the annual collective bargaining. For me, it just raised fears in my mind being trapped in traffic with those timebomb EVs left and right catching fires or creating accidents on the Autobahn. I drive a cheap Lada Niva, its loud, its thirsty..but changeing the muffler and the backend of my exaust costed me 39€, instead of hundreds and the most complicated electric thing in it is the speedometer. A car build to be driven in the harsh lands of Russia and repaired in the far outreaches of Siberia is good enough for our roads, it will not ignite spontaneously it will brake if its maintained propperly and lacking Airbags in the fistplace makes em impossible to fail. Not bad for a car that costed 7k when it was 6 month old.

I still say the best way is to have a gas powered car, and an e-bike on the side. Use the bike for shorter trips. Saves you a lot in gas, plus its convenient for family members who just want to go to the store or somewhere in the area. Saves you wear and tear on the car too.

Is a system where they constantly increase prices for more profits in their pockets. Other companies like using a just in time model, where you go lean on inventory and build enough to meet demand. In China, you mass produce everything even if there is no market, because that increases the gdp, and that looks good on paper, but in reality, many of the products are just excess inventory and utterly worthless. Yeah, average price per vehicle is lower if you just keep producing it, if you cant sell 2 out of every 10 cars, you are literally eliminating any profit you make and actually making losses, since the profit per vehicle industry average is around 10%.

95% of chinese car brands are trash tier with only 5% actually viable. The rest have already died off or are dying so now the rush to the bottom (quality) begins. BYD is the only viable international EV brand that makes decent vehicles, all the others will die off.
4:02 just for fun, did some counting. Every block of cars seem to have 4x39 cars in them, 156 total. I count about 56 blocks of cars in the entire picture, with some various sizes. About 90% of spaces look filled and 10% empty. 156 x 56 x 0.9 = 7862 cars, as a rough estimate. Not sure how many cars a big factory can spit out every day, but some googling says up to one every minute, so 480 cars in an 8 hour work day. So about 16 days worth of cars in the picture.

I was just wondering if all those cars have sets of keys sitting somewhere. Is there a master key or code if they use an electronic system? Also, would any if thise cars sitting so kong be sold as the year manufactured or the year the eventually sell them. Please don't forget that each of those EVs has a battery that has caused more harm than a gasoline car would generate over a few years. EVs aren't even close to as green as people think. Not to mention that Chinese EVs are so low quality that they'd need to be replaced before they reach 100k miles.

I still say the best way is to have a gas powered car, and an e-bike on the side. Use the bike for shorter trips. Saves you a lot in gas, plus its convenient for family members who just want to go to the store or somewhere in the area. Saves you wear and tear on the car too.

Some people in the UK who are following MG's operations are realising that they aren't making a lot of money being that the remainder of the historic Longbridge car factory is falling into disrepair. The remaining parts of that factory are now a storage facility for mainly prototype MG testing for cars to be launched for the UK market and older concept vehicles when the MG/Rover group was sold to the Chinese buyers.

In China, you mass produce everything even if there is no market, because that increases the gdp, and that looks good on paper, but in reality, many of the products are just excess inventory and utterly worthless.
Yeah, average price per vehicle is lower if you just keep producing it, if you cant sell 2 out of every 10 cars, you are literally eliminating any profit you make and actually making losses, since the profit per vehicle industry average is around 10%.

I know of 2 places in Melbourne, Australia that are storage yards for Chinese Electric Cars. People have woken up that these electric cars are not environmentally friendly as advertised. Also they are basically useless outside a metropolitan area here in Australia.

Every block of cars seem to have 4x39 cars in them, 156 total. I count about 56 blocks of cars in the entire picture, with some various sizes. About 90% of spaces look filled and 10% empty.
156 x 56 x 0.9 = 7862 cars, as a rough estimate.
Not sure how many cars a big factory can spit out every day, but some googling says up to one every minute, so 480 cars in an 8 hour work day. So about 16 days worth of cars in the picture.
Why not selling those cars to developing economies?? (Africa, South America, Central America, Southeast Asia) Is a win win situation, we need those cars and they need to sell them!!

It’s not about these hideous, dull steel and plastic boxes. Making these is cheap, keeping the production in a steady pace and keeping paying creditors and suppliers is more difficult. This is about human lives. Each new car will take away much of the disposable income and much of the freedom of the people buying them. I don’t see worthless boxes, I see the weight that is getting chained to slaves. Suddenly, it’s not a depressing image to see these unsold.
