Ordination of deacons 2023

We celebrated the ordination of six new deacons in our cathedral. Bishop Jonathan ordained Will Alvarez, Jenn Camirand, Jan Fuller, Sue Jones, Buffy Langdown and Jill Phipps as deacons, who will now serve as assistant curates in parishes across our diocese.
The service included promises being made by the candidates, the washing of their feet, and a Eucharist setting from the Little Jazz Mass by Bob Chilcott. Family and friends packed the cathedral and poured out into the sunshine afterwards to celebrate with the newly-ordained deacons.
