Thing is, mocks literally start tomorrow & I feel rather panicked... throughout Yr10 I found revision strategies that work perfectly for me & are proven to get me 9s (as has been seen in Yr10 mocks), but I was really lazy & just didn't do any of it so here I am with mocks tomorrow significantly hindering any chance of success when I could've done amazingly due to my laziness. If I started earlier I could've aced these mocks, but I refused to & now I'm afraid the turnout will be really, REALLY bad. My teachers are going to think I'm unable to get all 9s if I do horribly, but I just need to somehow get across that the only thing contributing to failure was not trying at all. I KNOW what exactly boosts me to top marks though, but I'm afraid they'll just write me off, & it's no-one's fault but my own. Sucks to be me.
Luckily enough unless you are moving for sixth form GCSE mocks shouldn’t matter too much - as long as you are aware of your ability and know that you will perform in the real exams - it’s true that procrastination leads to many problems- so these serves as a lesson to learn from I guess - you still have plenty of time to put in the work to achieve the 9’s at GCSE 🙏🏾

@@Grapppphix what i did was i wrote an essay each week. then i kept responding to the feedback (sometimes re-writing the essays that i got a low mark on). i also made adaptable essay plans, with quotes memorise (idk what ur exam board is). just make sure that you have a rough idea of what you are going to write about, have a good structure. in terms of timing, just plan out how long ur gonna spend for each essay in the exam and jsut keep writing and writing, don't let your pen off the paper. also, for my exam board (edexcel) there's always a specific thing the examiner is looking for. for section A and Section B this is form and structure so i always look at key techinques and try to develop WHY the poet used them. even just identifying that the poem has enjambents: this could mean if it's a negative poem, it is a never-ending nightmare, if it's a positive poem it's very free-flowing and at ease. for other stuff section C, it is context. just know the main point the examiner is looking forward for AND ALWAYS link back to the question. i went from a grade 5 in summer to a 9 so jsut know as long as ur consistent ur hard work will pay off :)) sorry this iis sooo long

@ frrrr bro my mock results are this week and im definitely getting moved down from set 1, if i scrape a pass then its a miracle- i plan to lock in next year tho idk how but ill find a way
pretty good! clearly humanities and languagea are the weaker link, id reccomend looking at the spanish gcse specification (on the aqa, edexcel or ocr website) and first learn ALL the vocab, and write model answers for the speaking questions. memorise these, even if they tweak the question youll have something to say, AND you can use them for the writing exams! (think about it, you have an opinion and anecdote for every single topic in the whole gcse!) good luck! ( for english lang, focus on section b marks- much easier to gain marks here and get into a higher grade boundary, for english lit- practice analysis all the time and make sure you have so so so many quotes stored in your brain, history- just know your textbook. history is one of those subjects that at gcse level isnt hard in practice- its regurgitation of information- but theres so so so much content and its killing everyone at my school!)
