TRIP REPORT | Lufthansa: A320 NEO Experience | Frankfurt to Berlin

- After more time that I would like, here we have our first trip on the Lufthansa Airbus A320 NEO. Today we are flying to Berlin from Frankfurt on the 4th NEO aircraft received by Lufthansa.
First of all, I would like to apologise for the little reflections that you'll see during takeoff. When editing the trip report I was able to minimise them, but it was my mistake when choosing the seat for this flight. One on the right part of the plane would have been the correct one.
That being said, the flight was really comfortable and fast. After a really interesting taxi in Frankfurt (watching lots of planes, including A380, B747, B787, B777...) we took off from runway 25C. After crossing runway 18-36 (already airborne) we turned to the right to start our short flight to Berlin.
The cruise stage of this flight was really short and, before we could realise, we were already descending to Tegel airport. The final approach offers some nice views of the city. We landed just 5 minutes after the scheduled time of arrival. After a fast taxi, we disembarked by jetway directly to the baggage claim area.

Well, the reflections were impossible to avoid at some moments. Airbus windows are not the best when the Sun is just in front of you. On the Boeing 737, the layers of the window have less space between them, so it's easier to avoid reflections.

Que bueno!! Ya has ido en NEO!! Dicen por ahí que se nota mucho la diferencia con respecto a un CEO, yo tengo unas ganas de probarlos... Y eso que he volado hoy, pero nada, dos B4 jajaja (El EC-KDG en el LCG-BCN y luego el EC-LZN en el BCN-MAH) a ver si a la vuelta tengo más suerte, ya te contaré... Si no habrá que esperar a Septiembre, que me voy a estudiar a Madrid, y ya voy a volar regularmente, así que habrá más posibilidades de que me toque... 😃

La verdad es que compré este vuelo y no otro porque era operado por un NEO jajaja
Recuerdo los 3 años que estuve viviendo en Madrid. Cogía el avión en la ruta MAD-SCQ-SCQ al menos para 2 viajes de ida y vuelta cada mes.
Disfruta de las primeras veces, porque se te va a acabar haciendo rutinario. Aunque volar es genial siempre, la mágia que tienes en cualquier vuelo cuando no haces muchos al año... lo hace aún mejor jaja
Que lujo que pudieses ver en primera fila a los poderosos Boeing 747-400 y 747-8 además del A380-800 de la gigante Lufthansa comparado con el pequeñito A320-NEO, no has corrido con suerte de estar en una unidad con los motores CFM-1A LEAP ya que esta aeronave también equipa los P&W 1100G, bueno en algún momento se te dara, buen vuelo.

El 747 sigue impresionando después de casi ¡50años! Tuve la oportunidad de ir a visitarlo al aeropuerto de Barcelona en el 72 cuando yo tenia 14 años. Desde entonces mi afición por la aviación. He ido varias veces a Japón en él. La primera en el 86, cuando no se podía sobrevolar la Unión Soviética por la ruta polar Londres-Anchorage. Es impresionante. No he ido en el A380, pero me gustaría.
Aboslutamente!! El B747 es tremendo. A ver si pronto puedo hacer algún vuelo en él. Una auténtica maravilla.

Como puedes decir que el 747 si es impresionante .......ESSSSS IMPRESIONANTE !!! Jajaja El B747... menudo avión. Impresiona tenerlo tan cerca como ocurre en Frankfurt.
Por qué me gusta tanto el ruído de lo motores? jaja Pues no se, sensación de potencia, de fuerza... Con los nuevos motores del NEO, el vuelo es más cómodo porque hacen mucho menos ruído, pero se ha perdido también esa sensación de fuerza al despegar.

La verdad es que hubo suerte de poder grabar un buen montón de aviones, como bien dices, especialmente, los enormes B747 en Frankfurt o el B757 al llegar a la puerta en Berlín.

Bien, un nuevo video gracias eres el mejor y mi avion favorito es el airbus 380 y el boeing 747, aunque solo volé una vez con el boeing 747 y fue impresionante volar con el boeing 747. Me gustaría volar con un airbus 380 pero no tengo que ir muy legos de donde estoy

Love the video! I have flown on LH a couple of times but I haven't had the chance to get on the NEO aircraft yet. Legroom was really good!

Other options were giving me more layover time in Frankfurt... but the NEO is the NEO! :D
Qué alivio ver un TR de LH en UA-cam 😇😍 Ya hace medio año que no volé con ellos, una pena 😩 Yo ya he regresado a Alemania... 😭 Echo de menos España 😣 Mis vuelos fueron operados por Air Nostrum y Iberia. SVQ - MAD fue un horror ya que había unas turbulencias súper fuertes y me choqué con la ventana cada vez que se movía el avión... 😕 Aunque sigo sin heridas jajaja El vuelo MAD - HAM fue lo contrario, todo estaba cómodo y la tripulación era más profesional que la de Air Nostrum (el comandante sabía hablar alemán jajaja), ya que cuya no advirtió sobre las turbulencias de antemano ni cuando ocurrieron... 🤨
Jajaja La verdad es que hacía bastante que no subía un Trip Report de Lufthansa, tienes razón.
Cuando vivía en Madrid, hace ya casi 3 años, volaba muchísimo con Lufthansa, desde Madrid a Vienna (Via MUC o FRA). Pero desde que me fui de Madrid coincidió que subieron bastantes los precios y casi nunca me es rentable volar con LH en viajes dentro de Europa.
Por eso han disminuído mucho los Trip Reports de LH en el canal =(
Espero que la experiencia en España haya sido genial. Desde luego, seguro que te vas con un montón de amigos hechos y con un Español genial.

Claro, LH sale súper caro. A mí me parece injusto, ya que el servicio a bordo debería ser de mejor calidad en relación con el precio. La misma cosa pasa con EW. Ahora han quitado el bocadillo del SMART fare, aún así se paga el mismo precio... 😡

Usually with FR24 or with info from the airport screens. When in flight, I just write down the time at which we crossed with the plane and then I check it on FR24.

Seguramente estarás al tanto la polémica que hay en Francia de eliminar los vuelos internos, sobre todo los más "cortos"... aquí he vuelto a ver un claro ejemplo, uno es el tuyo, ni llega a 500km, otro de los mostrados, poco más de 300km...
Son vuelos que verdaderamente los veo innecesarios, el rato de espera en el aeropuerto, el tiempo de rodaje, antes de coger altura, vuelve a empezar el descenso, llegar, desembarcar... En fin, mucho tiempo para una distancia que en tren o en coche llegas igual.
Se que tu no cambiarías el avión por otro tipo de medio de transporte, pero ahora que estamos con el tema de la contaminación a todas horas, yo haría ese trayecto en tren si o sí.
Un saludo, buen video, buenos aviones en tierra, la majestuosa reina de los cielos 747, aunque soy más del 340/600.
El tema es que la gente opina sin tener un conocimiento real del porqué de estos vuelos.
Los pasajeros de estos vuelos son, en su gran mayoría, pasajeros que vienen de largas distancias y han hecho su conexión en Frankfurt.
La gran mayoría de pasajeros no hacen solo la ruta Frankfurt-Berlin, sino rutas como Pekin-Frankfurt-Berlin, Nueva York -Frankfurt-Berlin... etc
Sin estos vuelos de conexión las aerolíneas no llenan sus vuelos de larga distancia y mueren, hablando claro.
Estos vuelos, más o menos cortos son fundamentales para las aerolíneas.

Jajaja La verdad es que las vistas desde las cristaleras de Frankfurt son magníficas. De hecho, hay algunas puertas que si te acercas al cristal, los tienes tan cerca que no consigues meterlos enteros en una foto. Una maravilla, vamos. :D
I’ve never really understood these kinds of flights.
Unless you’re with business or super rich, surely you just get an ICE train between these kinds of cities.
The point is that 80% of the passengers on this flight were not flying only from Frankfurt to Berlin, but they were coming from other flights and connecting to Berlin in Frankfurt. For my instance, I was connecting from Vienna, but the benefit for the airlines is that almost all passengers are coming from long-haul flights, and that's how they make those long flights profitable.
The ICE-train takes 4 hours from Frankfurt to Berlin and is a great option. It is simply faster to fly. But with some work to do, the train is better, as you have the four hours for you, a free wifi, power outlets at your seat and great wide seats. And the train is a lot cheaper, even in first class. A round trip in LH Business class FRA-TXL normaly is at some 700 - 900€. As a business traveller, I prefer the 1st Class of ICE train to LH Business Class.
The point is that I was not doing just this flight, but this was a connecting flight. In my case from Vienna, but many other passengers were flying from all around the world. And that's why these short flights are necessary for the airlines.
