Hey my 2012 Nissan nv2500 5.6L has 264,000km's on it (150k miles) with apparently according to the previous owner, original transmission fluid. There is a filter for this transmission, should I just drain and fill or change filter too?
I bought an old 04 titan that has 200k miles, paper work says all fluids changes were last done in 2018, does the same method apply to this video? Also do you think I should drop the pan and clean it? The truck runs amazing and is in great shape
There most certainly is filter. It's a steel screen/plate under the transmission pan. I changed mine at 200k miles and I highly recommend you change it
Hello, I have a 2004 Nissan Titan and I have a question: ❓ How true is it that if you change the oil in the automatic transmission, it no longer looks good? I ask you because several mechanics have not wanted to make the change, I hope you can answer me, greetings from Dodge City Kansas
Question ? My truck is a 2008 Nissan Titan 4x4 v8 and I was about to replace the trans fluid .. parts place and Google says 11.5 quarts .. I drained it and only about 4 quarts or less came out .. please tell me what I’m missing ? Wish I would’ve seen your video first
The entire transmission hold 11 quarts but when you do a drain and fill only about 5 quarts come out of the pan the rest of the fluid is in the torque converter in other passages of the transmission you won’t be able to remove that. When doing a simple drain and fill all you’re doing is 5 quarts roughly. You’re not missing anything
Thank you so much .. I really do appreciate your help .. I see what your saying , I knew only four or so came out and I thought it couldn’t be that low
so i don't need to change the filter cause it doesn't come with one well i need to buy 5 quarts of oil and change it cause the oil was never changed in this vehicle
Not sure if I heard correctly, but did you say there was no filter? If that's what I heard, that's not correct. I have a 2010 Titan, and I just changed it. I'm only telling you this in case you are unaware, and if Nissan said there was no filter, they did not tell you the truth.
That’s interesting. At work we have about 15 titans in our fleet. All are 2009 and older. They have a metal mesh screen doesn’t need to be replaced unless the transmission is being rebuilt. It’s a lot different then other transmission filters. I wonder if they changed this in 2010. Thanks for the info!
@@AaronHinesAuto The "filter" is the metal screen, and it doesn't need to be replaced unless it's damaged. It makes sense to pull the AT pan, and clean out the screen, if it needs to be cleaned. It's not necessary to replace it like an engine oil filter. We might still be stranded in Montgomery, AL if it wasn’t for your video. Thanks for the info!!!!! Headed to central Florida.
Wow, Glad to hear! Safe travels!
Ok I’ve done this one a few times. I usually get 4.5 qts. Recovered!

Same man and I gotta change mines myself today
are you sure about there not a trans filter? When I look it up for replacement it calls for one,I believe that it is serviceable
There is a screen that you can change. It's exactly like this: ua-cam.com/video/F0OwgbWbOGo/v-deo.html

@ yup I figured that out and replaced it
Hi Aaron does that also work for a 2020 Titan Platinum Reserve adding fluid.
Would a 2011 Titan not have a filter either?

Doesn't that drain bolt get a new copper crush washer?
no
It should but you don't have to do it every change
How about the 06 Armada ? ? ?
Same procedure/fluid ? ? ?
yes!!!! same exact.
Aaron Hines thanks a lot, going on a long trip, and changing the front/rear Dif, Trans, oil, and transfer case
@@AaronHinesAuto question what specifications torque is for the drain plug ? Thanks

That's a full flush and refill quantity at 11.5qts I believe.
I need to run the truck to check the fluid again ?
Yes, truck needs to running when u check the fluid level. If not fluid will appear higher
I have 2004 Titan 4x4 se can’t faint the transmission filter is spinning filter ❓
thanks.
That fluid is new. Rebottle for future use 😆

@@AaronHinesAuto those nissan screens get full of trash by 100000 miles trust me. You should change them if you want the transmission to last longer
@@AaronHinesAuto Hi can I use Valvoline ATF ?
They just have large fine mesh screen and 2 powerful magnets in the pan.
6 liters ??
yes
6 quarters
11
Dealer wants $245🤡🤣🤣
Matic s? My 2008 pro 4x requires Matic j
Matic s has replaced matic j. You can no longer purchase matic j
Nissa titan trucks do have a transmission filter his guy doesn't know what heis talking about.
What type of fuild do I use ??? 2008 Nissan Titan
Dexron VI
Only fill 4-5 quarts and check level. If you overfill it you can bust a seal or gasket. For all the pressure.
