Check out Jordan's Channel to see more about this motorcycle! www.youtube.com/@JordanRay
Jess if you want to go prematurely gray you need to ride an old school chopper; no front brake, mechanical rear brake, rigid frame, oh and don't forget a jockey shift and suicide clutch. The only thing I didn't list was a 14 inch extended springer front fork. LMAO I just described my bike from 55 years ago.
I love your honesty on this. You have been spoiled with Appa. I think it would have been funny to have Jordan on Appa behind you to do his review of your bike. Just to see the difference in opinion. My husband hates to ride my bike.
My wife rode an 06 1200 Custom. It was her first motorcycle. She rode that thing all over the eastern US with me on my Dyna. I could never ride that bike more than 40 or 50 miles. It made my bones rattle; fun to ride, quick as snot on a snowy day and fun to throw around. We both had a lot of fun on it and remember it fondly but there won’t be another one. Our Son rode it for a couple of years before he sold it and stepped up to a Dyna in 2013. He still rides that Fatbob. Good memories, thank you for that!
Just got me a Joe Rocket Mech Jacket!!!!!!!😊
Love it. I live in South Louisiana it’s been 90 to 100 lately. I’m 71 started riding aft 50 years I have a Spyder F3 😊 Love It. Keep Up the Great Work 😊😊😊😊😊
You're not supposed to laugh when you're about to die.....You sound like you're at an amusement park...so happy.
OMG!!! This was hilarious!!! You should do more of these kind of review!!
This is funny to me, having been riding for 35 years it’s funny for me to see people ride “old school” style bikes. Everyone is spoiled now days! I laugh at my friends when they say a sportster is for girls…. Takes a lot of fortitude to take a old sporty on road trip! Enjoy the journey!
Sketchy motorcycles are like fast food or alcohol and many more things! It doesn't do good for you but it tastes nice and you always want more!
Hey Jess, I think I saw the Flintstones helping ya stop at one of the stop signs... Prayers Flying for safe travels
This was the most fun video I've seen from you in a while!!! You are one of my favorite influencers! Keep on Rockin!!
Ok in St Louis we are hard chopper judges that is at best a custom choppers are rigid usually no front brake sometimes jockey shift and more than likely a deraked frame
Yea, not a fan of Sporty's. Rode one in 1993 at Sturgis. Have to add it was a 1976 basket case that I got going. Fun while it lasted but burnt out 3 generators. Got home and bought an 89 Ultra. Loved that bike. Riding a Heritage now. Best riding experience ever. Good job. Enjoy the channel.
Good looking matching colors red helmet and red bike
Bad brakes are a problem. New pads and fluid, and rebuilding the caliper should help. If it still feels untrustworthy then rebuild the master cylinder.
I moved to Florida from the Detroit area in Nov 2019. The winters are fantastic down here. You could build a bike down here.
Jordan is a real craftsman. Makes me envious.
Wouldn’t be cool if you could paint the clouds into it like we seen at the 9:21 mark. That would be awesome.
Remember an old saying biker's used years ago, "Speed Kills, ride a Sportster and live forever!'
Good job Jess.😎
Awesome ride safe and enjoy
That’s exactly what you don’t want ! Something with power and get up and go but no way to stop that go 🤣 be safe !
A project bike will be awesome to see
Come on we're Buckeye people girl . Man up . I rode all over Columbus, Steubenville , Pittsburgh, down U.S 250 TO Virginia, to Ashland, Ohio's best back roads😂
Dang I'm supposed to see you in Milwaukee on Sunday but it's supposed to pour down rain ugh
I feel your brake pain! My 89 softail doesn’t stop for sheeeiittt compared to my 22 Roadglide!
Thanks jess I enjoyed the video
That’s a pretty nice bike for a Harley. I definitely change the brakes though. As a writer of the 70s triumphs, the brakes are a lot to be desired from back in the day. Honestly, all it needs to be a choppers to have the frame chopped in some place. Having a hard tail is absolutely insane and pretty much stupid when you can have suspension. Having no suspension in the back is a good way to do yourself permanent damage in your spine which will end your motorcycle in days and injuries to your kidneys which myself going to kidney failure. Mice at this time is not fun I’m looking at an early death and cutting out a piece of equipment that keeps you safer and helps keep you from having the issues that I have is just insane. I’ve got about 35% of my kidneys left or less and a ruptured disc and a number of herniated discs movement for me is painful. Anybody who actively seeks to have that happened to them it’s freaking stupid.
You ROCK Jess!!
Jordan has skills that can become a full time business
I have been riding a sports bike (R1) for 7 years. I recently got a sportster and I have the same complaints about the brakes and skinny tires. Lol I now want a road glide (like my husband) and hopefully next year I’ll be able to purchase one.
Wow have Fun. 😊😊
Ok, now let's see Jordan on your bike
I do love the color on that bike. Probably the best looking one I've seen except for maybe the custom candy paints they did on the 72s for a couple of years
Jess I never laugh so much on a ride with you you were hilarious Jess I love it hope to have more great times in the next few weeks with you hope you got the truck fixed
I rode my sportster death machine 1500 miles last week to the tail of the Dragon and back. :D
I just bought my first bike it's an iorn 883 and I love it but its got 14 in ape hangers. Well we are waiting for the cables or wires to come to change my 14 to 8 mini apes. I can not make turns..I have watched video after video how to make turns and I'm just struggling because of those bars is definitely the issue..I enjoy watching you when you talk about how to get over the anxiety of riding..I have went down in the yard and between that and unable to trun I'm very destroyed.. I hope the new bars will help..
The buckhorns look cool yet would take a while to get used to.
The bars are sick you find there the best bars you can get the buckhorns
Jordan needs to put street tires on Gordita. Sportsters are bar hoppers, not good for riding long distances. I used to stop for gas every 98 miles. It would take me 10 hours to go to Myrtle Beach, which is 5 hours in my truck, but 10 hours on my '86 Sportster. Newer bagger bikes are comfortable and more reliable.
You said this was the oldest bike you've ridden but you rode Shadestree's ancient Goldwing that was older than this bike.
😂 awesome video! Good to have a point of view from you going bigger to smaller bike. Food for thought, the ironheads and early sporties had more horsepower and torque to weight ratio than harley big twins when they came out. People clown on sporties, but they are the funnest death traps, and its even funner to say you have tamed those lil beasts 🤩 good stuff!
Love this Jess can't stop smiling watching this and all the fun your having. the new and improved Gordita sounds wonderful 🎧 I have an old 72 Iron Head sportster that I change around all the time but almost never ride because I have a turing model that's my main bike but love getting on the old bike every once in a while and always get a good laugh at the old backwards brake and shifter that first stop sign is always a surprise 😅
Just one nerdy question. What kind of microphone are you using ? Have a safe and fun trip 🤘 😎 🤙
Glad Jordan got rid of that scrambler idea. I owned two Huggers including a 2001, so I'm a little perplexed by your comments about the brakes. Sounds like he needs a set of new or sintered pads. I still own a 72 along with my Fatboy, and yes, it feels rough after riding the FB, but it's still a great bike.
If you want to have fun modding a bike you could have Jorden adopt out your Dyna, change the exhaust, seat, and bars? He seam to be very good at exhaust.
I have a 2018 iron it's a little bike it's actually worse in some ways because you think it's a little bike but it still weighs nearly 600 pounds I can't imagine riding that through the dirt and stuff I've tipped it over in parking lots numerous times when I first bought it once you go too far and you're sitting on it not even Hercules can bring it back you either have to set it down or fall down
This was entertaining. Would be interesting to see your reaction if you rode an actual small bike. Mines still a cruser an only 350 pounds with a 230cc engine. The dual sport bikes can be in the 250 pound range. But then, my brakes do work so...
Great video. Love all the stuff Jordan has done to that bike. Would love to see you test ride a KLR 650S. Just test ride. Would love to no what you think.
I’m not a fan of the set up on this sportster at all but I like Jordan’s channel. Look forward to you doing a possible bike build. 😊
Did Jordan quit his job and go full time youtube?
I liked "never not a reason I don't want to do this again". Wait, what?
Use the gears to slow you down to.
It looks great both ways but I like it's current state better but his version of the dirtster was better than lots I have seen
I wish they'd make a saddleman step up with out the back seat part maybe they do let me know
I love death traps 😂
You need to ride a rigid chopper! Would be hilarious! lol
You need road tyres the Nobby aren’t any good for road use that’s why it’s like your in groves
Well if i can ask what year is shadtree Surgeon,s old green Gold wing i recall you riding his old beast ..
Sigh, supposedly on and off rain showers here in southeast Wisconsin most of the rally 🤬
Jess why don't you chop the Dyna? You already have the bars and sissybqr set up you like on that bike ??
Hahaha quite different then what you are used to huh Jess 😆😆
While I appreciate the styling. I'm not a HD enthusiast. Jordan has done interesting work which I applaud but have no desire to ride any of the three incarnations. That being said, I am, sadly, uninterested in wrenching myself, lack the patience, lack the tools and workspace. So there is the bad and good of it. Viva la difference. Definitely swap out the tires if he is going to keep this configuration for awhile. My wrists ache while watching this. 😂 Have a great trip and looking forward to the content. Really interested to see what Jordan's thinking will be after ADV fest. Are you going to ride the Himalayan during ADV rider skill tests? Also, I mentioned on Jordan's channel when he was riding it, there are a lot of videos where they swap out the front sprocket in favor of a 16 tooth sprocket. Supposedly it makes a marked improvement on its top end ability on highway riding.
Just like Highschool, 4 over Sporty 🤟😎
I love it so much more after it's returned to streetfighter status. Also, yes, it's a chopper. Don't listen to the SOA crowd that builds their bikes to decorate their garage
Jess, it's official, you are a " chopper chick". The Ohio countryside you're riding through sure looks pretty.
Yes I agree with another commenter here, I would love for your husband to ride and review your bike appa!!! Please!!! Lol
Does Jordan have street tires for that bike?
Geez it's a 2001, you make it sound like it's from 1947
Youre a hoot lol
Choper doesn't have to be a hardtail mine has shocks
Ride a 1200. You won't buy an 883. I've had both.
Buckhorns are the worst. They’re my least favorite bars to use to push a bike on a lift with.
Do you still have the Dyna?
You need to buy him a superglide
The thumbnail edits are getting wild. Two different ppl.
My brakes aren’t great on my ‘86 compared to new tech. You sort of learn to live with it. Lol
Only Chopper I like is the Yamaha Raider or Stryker LOL
Don't forget about the Honda Fury!
@@robertriley8464 nice yep still have to try one !
It's not a Harley if it has good brakes 😊
Lol I wish you could ride my 2009 V star 650 then you would think that your husband's bike is the fastest bike they ever built lol
My wife can't ride my bike her feet don't touch the ground
I can learn, just tape more…
🫶👌
Better to have speed bumps in "the middle of the roae" as opposed to on the sidewalk. ;)
😂.
Ill be a Man tell u the truth! 😂 the bike is the fugliest thing ive ever seen 😊
No, just no... sportsters are the reason I hate harley. Even the 1200s they are supposed to be affordable, entry-level bikes. However, they are engender 1970s design. Brakes suck, suspension sucks, engine sucks, reliability sucks, comfort sucks... etc. Everything about those bikes suck. Even the dyna mid grade motorcycle. Single disc in the front. If you want a chopper convert your dyna to a chopper. But if you want a "chopper" look at the yamaha raider or the Honda fury. Either way, you're not making those bagger bikes. I feel like you're going to be miserable riding a bike with a back pack on. Good luck with whatever you decide. 👍
That is one ugly bike.
Glad it’s not your every video bike.
Buckhorns are the worst. I don't know how anyone rides them on any bike. Kudos to yall
Jordan chose violence with that bike! lol Your reaction was priceless honestly
On the idea of building a chopper how about using the dyna.
Buy that man a big bore kit please. I ride an 03 883H with hammer 1275 cylinders. Mines so much more fun now. It's like night and day. My wife rides an 02 1200C. We also have 89&94 sporties in my garage. 😁
I had an ‘07 sporty 883. Loved it but outgrew it. But when I test rode a street glide then went back to the 883, it seemed so small!!! Traded it in on a Heritage and when I sit on a sporty now I’m both nostalgic and surprised I wrote as long as I did on it. I can’t imagine going from a road glide (aka Cadillac float a boat) to the sporty (aka VW beetle). Ha!!!!😊
It's a cool bike. I have a 89 883 similar to it, but do prefer my 13 ultra for touring
I don't care what people say I love the ABS on my bike and the fuel injection I don't even have to hit the back brake I can slam on the front brake the back brake goes along with it it's saved my asss a few times trust me I'm 55 years old trust me it helps I used 2 ride around on a Chinese scooter I sooped up It would do 80 miles an hour and it would take off faster than my Harley does but when I had to slam on the brakes I go straight to the ground or endo that scooter is way scarier then riding my little Harley I do enjoy wrecking for some reason it's like mashing not sure what's gonna happen I get off leaving things up to fate however my 2018 iron is 100 times more safe THAN my scooters have been
WAS TO COOL TO MEET YOU AND BLOCKHEAD AT THE 120TH!
You beed to ride a Honda Fury and give your review of that!
Nice video keep up the good work Jess
Lol i would love to see you ride a Raider or Warrior one of these days 😂
Have fun on your trip,
That paint is mint!
Can you test ride 2013 Blackline
