Commenting bit late tbh despite having watched on release. That leitmotif from the eo3 theme is so good, I like it and just hearing another theme with it on fm is another excuse to put on repeat for hours. Good demake, as always
Hope the test goes well. I'm sure you're told this plenty but please rest, exhaustion and anxiety can kill and you're burning the candle on both ends. It's also better for mental clarity and motivation. This is really good though. Always enjoy your stuff, and will happily wait much longer for it if it means you rest and enjoy what you're making again. There's no point if the love isn't there.
Thanks for the well wishes! I actually already finished like a few weeks ago but they still haven't announced the results. I'm glad you like my works. Thank you so much for considering my wellbeing, even though it's exhausting, I always try my best for these songs and will continue for the foreseeable future because I love this series and its music.
This is easily in the top 5 for this track. Nice, crunchy fm sound, everything is still distinguishable as seperate instruments, I love it. Nicely done.
Force Skills don't exist in EO4, so instead, I'll list off what I consider each characters' signature moves from their main class and subclass in my first playthrough (I'll also do a where are they now kind deal in regards to the end of my second Nexus playthrough, which I call "Nexus on the Horizon" and starts 9 years after the start of the EO4 first playthrough, though the end is 10 years after the start of the EO4 first playthrough): "It's over! SWOOOOOORD.....TEMPEST!" "Time for a little power boost. GRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! I'm all set!" -Siiva Hythlodaeus, Landsknecht/Bushi of the Fool arcana (As of Nexus on the Horizon, Siiva Hythlodaeus has been dead for 9 years, but his dream for a world of harmony lives on through his cousin Sylvain Hythlodaeus, whom he has entrusted his family heirloom to. Said family heirloom is a fantasy novel that speaks of a utopia) "From the shadows... SUNDER!" "*revs drive blade* ACCEL DRIVE!" -Teàrlag Macleod, Nightseeker/Imperial of the Devil arcana (Teàrlag was hit the hardest by Siiva's death, as the two were lovers. Now though, she's found love again in the form of a Shogun named Flynn Akishima that she met in Armoroad, and the two are currently assisting Count Baldur and Teàrlag's adoptive father Logre with leadership of Tharsis, with Flynn occasionally going to the Misty Ravine to bring flowers to his fallen kin and lament over their lack of free will when they were alive, in addition to apologizing to the Vessels on behalf of everything his kin, the Hollows had done to them. In addition, Teàrlag's rival, Sable has begun using her actual name, Aelita Temnota, now that she's no longer an assassin for the Cult of the Fallen One.) "Be healed!" "How's about a tango, to spice things up?" -Richard Aster, Medic/Dancer of the Star arcana (Richard became a teacher 8 years ago, but now he's been dead for 2 years, but his students, Sylen Hunter, Sayori Kimishima, and Sylvain Hythlodaeus are doing quite well, even though the loss of Mr. Aster hurts them more than anyone else) "You ain't going nowhere, asshat! I'll snipe ya!" "*stares into the enemy's soul* Feelin' any different, dickwad?" -Gwynderek Ushijima, Sniper/Arcanist of the Justice arcana (Gwyn has chilled out. Like, a lot. And he's in a relationship with this Therian chick from Arcania named Sakuya Adachi who used to be Prince Ramus' bodyguard and maid, and she was a sellsword before that. Now, Gwyn and Sakuya are helping Gwyn's cousin (on his mom's side) Wynne run the Berund Atelier, in addition to learning the way of the Bushi from Gwyn's Uncle (on his dad's side) Kibagami. Vox is also hanging with Sakuya and Gwyn, mainly due to Sakuya's need to supervise Vox and keep him under control, due to Vox's nature as a 200 year old homunculus with godlike powers.) "Heh, Chaos Circle." "Behold this forbidden magic... ORIGIN RUNE!" -Sen, Arcanist/Runemaster of the Moon arcana (Sen had always been masking his true nature as a sociopath since the very beginning, and the facade he out on started cracking when Siiva died. It cracked even further in EO5 first playthrough, and it fully broke in Untold 1, though he got the help he needed in Untold 2 (which was a little bit over 5 years ago). Now, Sen has been married to his two best friends, Félix Noir and Marie-Thérèse "Martés" Clarideu for a little bit over 3 years, as Sen, Félix, and Martés' younger brother Joachim crashed an arranged marriage between Martés and this dude she didn't even like in my second playthrough of EO5 in the most chaotic fashion: waiting until the "If anyone has any objections, speak now or forever hold your piece", yelling "WE FUCKING OBJECT!", bursting through the doors, dropping a fireball on the groom, holding the priest at staff, scythe, and rapier point, and allowing Martés to pick between Sen and Félix, since Joachim know Martés' heart truly belongs to those two bozos, but she's notoriously indecisive, so she picked both. Now though, Sen is going on a roadtrip to the next Yggdrasil with his little sister Lei, his brother-in-law Joachim, and his adopted mother Teàrlag's rival Aelita (yes, that's EO6 setup). Martés and Felix had family business to take care of, like Félix introducing Martés to his biological mother Marguerite's grave in the Frozen Grounds, and helping Félix's adoptive father Egar convict Martés' parents for being involved in a massive conspiracy. God damn are Sen, Félix, and Martés gonna have some STORIES to tell when they have kids. Sen's dad lore is gonna be insane.) "How's about a tango?" -Marshall Fannaan, Dancer of the Magician arcana (Marshall has been dead as hell since the Hollow Queen fight in the first playthrough of EO4.) "O' flames, burn through! Fireball!" -Nozomi Elden, Runemaster of the High Priestess arcana (Nozomi Elden and Chad Siegfried have been together for 8 years, and they're now married. Nozomi is expecting twins, one boy, one girl. The boy is going to be named after the teacher Chad and Nozomi had in high-school, Marius, who died protecting Nozomi from a devastating blow from the Star Devourer in the EO5 second playthrough. Meanwhile, the girl is going to be named after Chad's dead sister, Iris, who died years before she could fulfill her duty as her generation's Daughter of the Mark. Nozomi has also gotten full closure in regards to her (now dead) father, the Eldest One, and Chad has learned to fully control his Fafnir powers, so both of their arcs are basically done now, and Chad's already writing down and compiling his crazy-ass dad lore into a series of neat little folders, cause he's got some STORIES to tell.) "H-hood Circle!" "D-don't die on me!" -Lei, Arcanist/Medic of the Sun arcana (Lei has grown a lot. She went from this timid little girl who can't fight for shit and has a traumatic flashback everytime she sees fire to an optimistic young woman who has begun to heal from her trauma and is now one hell of an Arcanist to boot, wielding circles at a level of power her older brother Sen wouldn't dare dream of. Now, she's setting out again with her older brother Sen and his brother-in-law Joachim towards the next Yggdrasil, whatever it may be (yes, this is setting up for EO6))
I don't think noticed that this was the same melody as the EO3 ocean boss theme in my initial playthrough. I'm hearing some new bridge sections I think? I'll need to do go listen to all the different versions again. As for this demake, it sounds like you got the original midi synth used in the EO DS trilogy? Or atleast what they used in the hd remakes (only version I have heard yet). Sounds great imo, ty for this. The new solo/bridge sounds very hype. Side note since my last comment: I have finished EO4 and am now working through EOU1 story mode.
Bit surprised cause the only thing different is the key, that melody is really distinct. Thank you very much! I used a mix of samples extracted from the DS version and a plugin emulating the soundchip Yuzo Koshiro used, well kinda anyways. I did try asking him for the original samples that he used for EOHD trilogy cause what I have was kinda low quality but to no avail. Damn that's fast! What are your thoughts on it? Also enjoy EOU1, just my opinion but I feel EOU2 did things way better, especially in the writing and characters.
@Repoofy I'm prepping for the boss of the 2nd stratum right now. Generally the story has been fine enough. Characters are fine, but I'm normally not a fan of PCs like highlander that are blank slates. Gameplay wise, the differences in the skills trees from EO1 is cool. I personally am finding I'm disliking the QoL change of floor jumping. It feels to me like shortcuts feel less rewarding and generally it's pushed me into a play pattern I don't like: go back and save over and over again since the trek back to where I was is so short. It also feels like it invalidates some of the stuff in the second stratum with unlocking the healing well since I can just floor jump back anyway. I assume this is a pretty minority opinion though because most people seem to like not having to backtrack I thought the fights against fenir and the invisible dog we're both really cool because I fought them kind of undernleveled, but I think for the second stratum I'm going to end up overleveled just due to the amount of times I went back to base while exploring
I can really feel the Scorching Heat with this one
I do like the original EO3 version of The End of Raging Waves best, true - but hey, any cover of this song is going to be good!
I know you're chafing at the EO demakes and I fully encourage taking a break, but this is hot fire and I love it.

It's... so... peak...! Ah! My kness! They're bending on their own! It'sPoofy! I kneel!

Unbelievable chills for such iconic jams
