- This is a quick XTOOL D7W Review. I used this car diagnostic tool to check for any codes on my Lexus LX470 and my LS430. It found a few codes we were easily able to remedy on the LS430 and we were also able to use it to test different modules on the LX470. This unit here is designed for the professional mechanic so if you were looking to use this at home, you'd have plenty of features to choose from.
Because this is geared toward professionals, it comes with 3 years of updates. To get more after that would require a subscription. However, if your car is older, you shouldn't need any updates. The updates are generally for newer cars and new cars as they come out.

1998 BMW e39 525tds. Round OBD.
Xtool A30D (identical diagnostic capabilities as D7, D8, D9..) did not show a single ABS livedata. Didnt show also that 1 ABS sensor faulty. Only show 2 troble codes named some weird numbers: E1 , S3 or similar.
Hooked up Otofix D1 lite and no problems. All livedata, all codes..
I just looked that one up. Had never heard of it, but for $319 with wireless bi-directional, that's not bad! My XTOOLs have always picked up quite a bit even with my 2004 Phaeton. But I do wonder if one of these units would pick up more? Only way to really compare but thanks for the information and extra option!

LOL, I'm not quite there where I can raffle off items that cost that much. But I do have some tools to raffle off! I'll mention them in the upcoming video! I also have a plan to start raffling off bigger tools in the future too. Crazy you brought it up!
Nice video. Tested my 06 350z. But I was not able to locate the long and short fuel trims. Is my scanner defected or my 350z does not have the ability to provide them via scanner? I contacted xtools but I have not heard from them. I welcome any input.
If you haven't heard anything from them today I'd consider returning it before time runs out. Every car IS different though. Depending on age that capability might not have been there. You could also try joining some nissan or 350z forums to see what they're using. Hope this helps!
You know, I have been considering it. I just purchase a inexpensive $45 creader vII + (in mint condition) that does show fuel trims. I tested it last night on my 99 accord. Today, when I am finish from work will test the creader on my 350z.
