Oh dear lord is the right phrase to describe that magazine cover! I mean Goose Lord.. Need to visit this line and Will do now that they have Class 153s (THAT THEY MAY USE FOR DRIVING EXPERIENCES!!! you never know)
I enjoyed this video trip to the GCR. My father lived nearby, so when we visited him as kids he would occasionally take us to have a look around the shed. He didn't take us for a ride, for some reason. I think I took a trip with friends and their young son once, on a Thomas day, but if I recall correctly it barely left the station before coming back in. They have some lovely stations, and of course the reservoir. The Charnwood railway ran through Shepshed, where my family lived. I have walked the Shepshed section of the remaining track bed many times. There was also a canal at one point.
Brilliant video as always Sarah. Feast for the eyes. Lots of great locos and rolling stock. Nice Cowan's Sheldon Steam Crane that had been converted to diesel hydraulic too. Loved that. The Network South East 50 took me back, used to go from Oxford to Paddington behind them in the late 80s. Before you were born basically. And I love a rattly diesel railcar belching out exhaust fumes. Thanks!
Brilliant video Sarah, the great central railway is a lovely line, I'm so glad to call this my local heritage railway. And christmas magazine covers being sighted in the middle of the year, honestly lol.
Back in the early to mid 80s, used to love to sit on front seat of the old dmu and you could see out the front screen unless the driver pulls the blind down
Great vid Sarah, and lovely to see you back on YT.
Thank you also for pronouncing Marylebone the way it should be!

Excellent video Sarah 👍
The Great Central has always been one of my favourite heritage railways
Amazing there was a poster of Dudley Zoo, as I used to work there. Great video, giving me a reason to re-visit the GCR again.

I really enjoyed that. Thanks! And it's my local patch, the tea shops making great stopping places on bike rides.

Great Video Sarah
Brilliant seeing you back on UA-cam...any news on Brian?
brilliant vlog
Ah! The GCR! The big railway closure crime. No need for HS2 if we still had it!
That 50 in the NSE livery is just pure filth but looks like a touch up might be on the cards for it
Fab vid Sarah, well done Gal! Are you coming up to Sheringham for the 1940s weekend? Could see you as a Land Army Girl!
Stripey train is best train 👍
