This album has to be one of the very best live recordings ever ! I'm 48, and have listened to A LOT of music, that being said, I can't think of a better live recording than this. Why isn't Nirvana's unplugged album more well known and widely acclaimed ?
Possibly my favourite ever live set. It always does make me ponder what Cobain could have done if he eventually transitioned into a more softer singer songwriter type style. Because there’s no way he’d do anything generic so it would have been exciting as fuck to witness. A lot of his unreleased tracks feel like they’d suit this style too. Either way, these are legendary live performances.
I remember exactly where I was when Kurt Cobain died. I'm 46 years old now. So I must have been 16 at the time. My parent's didn't have cable. I babysat at a house that had cable. I also owned Nirvana CDs. I was absolutely heartbroken when I saw the news on MTV.... Back when MTV was still a music channel. Don't worry.... The children I was babysitting were fine. I still love Nirvana especially unplugged.
Watching this again in Feb '22. Gives me chills, it's like it was recorded yesterday.....after a few years between viewings, you forget just how good it is..
Its been 27 years today since Kurt died, he has been gone as longer than he was alive. "RIP" Kurt we all miss you and wish you were still here making us smile, you were one of the greatest musicians that ever lived and I just hope that wherever you are your at peace. Your legacy will always live forever Kurt you were the best to do it.

I just watched this, and I am falling in love with the band. When I was a teenager I was not ready to really listen to the intensity of the lyrics and Kurts amazing voice. But now, in my thirties, I feel like a portal to some wild and crazy universe has opened up, listening to this music, and witnessing the energy of Kurt. He is the most mesmerizing person I have ever seen, and I now understand what everyone is talking about, when they say they feel like they know him. I am experiencing an immense grief over his death, so many years later. It's a weird feeling to grieve over someone I didn't know. But he really was an outstanding artist and person. Just needed to send some love to him, wherever he is...
Kurt actually sounds great singing this. I'm usually pretty critical of his vocals but gotta give credit where ts due. His raspy, gravely sound is perfect for this. I always respected the passion he sang with when being serious. That's the one thing guys can't replicate. They can sound like him but don't have his soul in there delivery
Yeah, many think he was a bad guitarist or vocalist, truth was he hated playing certain songs live. He had a lot of pride in this song, and you can hear that passion.

Why isn't Nirvana's unplugged album more well known and widely acclaimed ?
If it's not in one's collection, then they really aren't into good music.
I was 22 when this master piece came out watched it on mtv
Definitely, up there with Eric Clapton unplugged.
I'm here one year later. Seems to be a February thing 😂
But it was not the algorithm it was my own choice.

Where do bad folks go when they die?
They don't go to Heaven where the angels fly
They go to the lake of fire and fry
See 'em again 'til the fourth of July
I knew a lady who came from Duluth
Bit by a dog with a rabid tooth
She went to her grave just a little too soon
Flew away howling on the yellow moon
Where do bad folks go when they die?
They don't go to Heaven where the angels fly
They go down to the lake of fire and fry
See 'em again 'til the fourth of July
People cry and people moan
Look for a dry place to call their home
Try to find some place to rest their bones
While the angels and the devils try to make them their own

They go down to the lake of fire and fry

Same here man, same here.

Same as a teen I found it weird. Since 2020 and almost post apocalypse feel...I now can appreciate it
Any advice for a teen who is trying to survive this pop music era?
Kurt actually sounds great singing this. I'm usually pretty critical of his vocals but gotta give credit where ts due. His raspy, gravely sound is perfect for this. I always respected the passion he sang with when being serious. That's the one thing guys can't replicate. They can sound like him but don't have his soul in there delivery
Yeah, many think he was a bad guitarist or vocalist, truth was he hated playing certain songs live. He had a lot of pride in this song, and you can hear that passion.
@@hatboxghost735 That's something I don't like about Kurt. The fans are what makes you and when they pay there money to see you in concert and you intentionally mess up songs or sing them some stupid way your shitting on them. Without the fans nobody is a star
@@beyondbeleef1013 yes that’s true. That’s why you’re never disappointed seeing a band like Metallica. Also why Metallica would get so upset with bands like Alice In Chains, putting their wants/needs b4 the fans who paid so much. Regardless of what Metallica may think of one of their songs, they always play it to it’s full potential and even add in for the audience to join. Fans didn’t all understand why Kurt would purposely screw up a song, many believed he was just a bad guitarist; was not the case.
