A beautiful story. Red was always one of my favorite comedians and I watched his show every week with my mom and dad. This makes me love and respect the man even more. How fortunate Jamie was to have someone like Red help him out at such a crucial time.
Great story Jamie, fans of you both. I invited a young girl to go see "Red Skelton" with me in concert in the 80's. ...and she said "Im not into Heavy Metal music". It was a great show.
I had never heard they had worked together until I saw this video. I still continue to watch Mash reruns, and wish they would rerun some of Red's shows when clean humor was expected and family supportive to growing up respectfully.
That is one of the finest Army transition stories I have ever heard. Kind of like Red Foxx helping Pat Morita out. I wish I had that kind of help when I got out, but then I am not in show business.
I knew Jamie all the years I lived in "The Swamp Tent" "Funny?" Well, he laughed at all my silly jokes as I laughed at his. If you look close at me in my Picture, you will see me at home in "The Swamp" wearing my "M*A*S*H 4077" T-Shirt. I'll tell you Who Was The Funniest of all. That "Nut" who played "Col. Sherman "T." Potter" Yes, he would come up "Behind me" & quietly say something Soo Funny, I Almost laughed Out LOUD! Shh! You can't do that in here! Aw, heck, All those people were great & treated me the same.."Charlie Duban I Love You!" They "All" called me "Miss M*A*S*H" and, They still do. C'ya,

awesome! Red Skelton helped another great comedian get his start too. Jamie Farr is a wonderful man, and an incredible talent!
