There top of the line model an 1172 sells for between 50-65k. These are cheap beans compared to it. Then you have to add a truck that is as much as that and more.
The fridge location is for weight balance to keep the center of gravity forward. Many of the stock half-tons will be inadequate to haul this model, mine included unless one gets a model void of some of the options I consider vital. To get the truck with the max payload option, a sort of a unicorn in the truck world, one may as well get a 3/4 ton truck which then will make me say then I can get a bigger model of truck camper, which then will be close to overloading the truck ... it never ends. Why get a truck camper with 4-season features? If you are going winter skiing, mountain passes on dirt roads, or really rough remote roads, then this is the camper of choice. The Casita is cheaper for tamer conditions, can be upgraded for certain rougher back country, but will never be adequately pulled by a really decked out 2-door jeep like I pull behind my truck campers. Unfortunately, the wife has input on this as well and her choices are typically none of the above, argh. LOL.
The bath was to the left as you stepped in, but not shown. No worries. You showed enough and if people want more info, you gave them info on how to get it. I like it. It would be great for a single person, but I think I'm still leaning with something a little larger. Great video.
IMO, which is worth what you paid for, these truck campers are optimal for one person, the hunter or fisherman type. I just spent 3 weeks in a pop-up truck camper seeing national parks. It was great for me, although it would be tight with another person. Great for mobility though.
Unfortunately, I don't think most tradition truck campers will be light enough to not exceed most 1/2 GVWR. The basic weight from lance's website is 1903lbs with NO options. A ford f150 with 4x4 and Supercrew max. payload is 2620lbs with NO options and with the heavy-duty payload option. I chose this model because it the most commonly sold config. So how many trucks and campers are sold with no options to the general public? Practically none. Add people food and all the stuff people take with them means that most of these units if on a 1/2 ton will be way over GVWR. An overloaded truck can't brake or manoeuvre very well in emergency accident avoidance because they were not built for such. Three-quarter ton at the least and their top of the line 1172 requires a dualie at minimum.
WOW. That is expensive for such little space!!! The fridge is in the bedroom.
convenient for serious beer drinkers...Hi!!!
@@rusty78609 Good point!

Hey Rusty,
I'm not sure if it's just me but the 17' Casita seems to be a much better value.
What are your thoughts?
Lots more room in the Casita (plus a bathroom!), and with all the bells and whistles only about $25k.
for the price the Casita is a great buy in my opinion...
Thank rusty I requested and you came thru👍👍👍👍👍👍 keep the videos coming.
