@@assassinthird I think the video competition highlighted more or less how little public opinion mattered when it came to the video competition. The videos which got a crap tonne of likes, public votes and clearly had more effort put into them and looked more cinematic then most of the current winners ended up losing due to getting bad dev votes. Back then, we expected to lose to videos like "Operation Hawk", "Strike on Gensokyo" or "Battle of 73 Easting", but all these videos ended up losing or just barely getting third place. When we saw the winners we were all like "Seriously? THIS is what we lost to?" and Im pretty sure alot of the other creators had the same reaction, even people who were regulars and above in the MTC4 discord didnt expect this turnout, some blamed UnVerified thinking he rigged the votes which I cannot say much about because I dont know what actually happened other then the developer votes being the major deciding factor as to who won the competition.
@@thedarksandwich what the majority of you failed to do was the contest itself, the devs wanted an imitation of combat footage and not a cinematic film, sure yall worked hard on your stuff but the majority of submissions misunderstood what the contest was abt. Which is a shame because there were some decent submissions

the devs are biased, the dev vote was made to "prevent faction bias" yet the one who won was made by a faction
