      Its not an American car, its made in Mexico. Chevy just lost a lifelong customer with this one. I'll take the new Honda Passport Elite trim, made in Alabama by American workers.

      I drive a RAV4. Great car but not excited enough for me. I like this tweener segament between compact and midsize suv that might take off. I totally agree with you. The Passport looks amazing. My biggest concern is the American reliability. It's just terrible. The tend to have terrible safety ratings and fall apart quickly. With the same power train of the traverse I will be taking a pass also.

    Just a suggestion, before you "showcase" a new car, especially introducing a new model, spend some effort detailing the car to provide a great first impression. I recognize this is a first look off the truck, but the car is dirty, no tire shine and does not serve your dealership or Chevy well. Better to wait a few hours to make the vehicle look beautiful. As a Chevy owner, I think this model has great potential!

    Points of interest; 1: Side marker light in wheel arch molding. 2: Traction Control defeat next to glove box button. 3: Drinking game. Take a shot of Jager, each time Ken says "Equinox". For me as a Chevy guy since '66, I like it. Had an '86, and a '95 Blazer. Time for a new one? Sigh. Maybe.

      Just read the press release. Trim levels are: L, Blazer, RS and Premier trims, with L starting MSRP of $29,995. So I'm thinking isn't the L isn't called leather. No big. Chevy, what's wrong with L, LS, RS, and LTZ?

    • @KBCarsChevyChannel
      @KBCarsChevyChannel  5 років тому

      @@BeCoShooter Correct, the L trim will only account for about 1% of total Blazer production (fleet production I'm guessing). The Blazer trim (should be called the LT in my opinion) is divided into two sub-trims Cloth and Leather (there are more differences than just the obvious) and in GM's dealer systems are known as 2LT & 3 LT (just to complicate it a bit more). They started renaming the LTZ trim on a few of the models starting in 2016 (if I remember correctly) and is now called Premier.

    How does this car handle potholes. My state is in debt and roads are very bad due to winters. I am finding it difficult to own a sedan here. My wheels bend after hitting a pothole. I'm looking to lease something more durable. If this car comes with better wheels, and gives close to 30 highway, I would think about it. Could you review the 2LT AWD model ?

    Cheaply built throwaway overpriced Mexico built junk help Mary Barra continue to make 22 million a year thanks America for the bailout!!!!!

    • @ethanhess246
      @ethanhess246 5 років тому +6

      Yes, I would prefer the car be built in the US, but that does not by any means make a car "junk." What really matters is where the car is designed. Many cars are produced in Mexico that are very good quality. For example, look at the Toyota Tacoma and the Ford Fusion. Both are made in Mexico and are very reliable vehicles. These days, it shouldn't matter whether a robot put it together in Mexico or a few hundred miles over the US border- it's still made by a robot. Would it be great to see the new Blazer be built in the United States? Of course it would! But you have to realize that GM is a company first, and they have to do what makes financial sense- they can't just look after everyones feelings. They have a crossover/SUV plant in Mexico already producing the Terrain and there is capacity for the similar Blazer, while if they were to produce the Blazer in the US they would have to invest millions to upgrade their now defunct sedan factories to handle SUVs. So, why would they spend millions to upgrade their sedan factories when they have a perfectly capable SUV factory across the border? In a perfect world, the Blazer would be made in the US, but GM is a company first and has to maximize their profits. Doesn't make them "greedy", as people say, just that they are a publicly traded company who has to make their investors happy. This does not make their cars "junk".

    • @ethanhess246
      @ethanhess246 5 років тому +4

      @J Shepherd Yep, you're right. I am from a GM family. I just don't think it's fair to judge a car based on where its made. I can't think of many "American" companies who make every part of every product in the US, anyways. How about we cut GM some slack? Look at Ford, FCA, Apple, etc. GM still has a respectable number of plants in the US and continues to invest in them. (I did not proofread my previous comment, and looking at your comment, neither did you. It should be "Your grammar and punctuation suck by the way.", since "grammar and punctuation" is a compound subject.)

      @@mstngken IMO we should have let GM go bankrupt during the recession. The government should have no place in the auto industry. But also keep in mind this was a decade ago... According to this logic, GM should have to build all of their vehicles here, while other companies such as Ford who did not take "bailout money" (but they still took A LOT of government money, just not from the "bailout") should have a free pass to do business as they please? GM is a company first and should do whatever is most profitable for them. Also, can you really blame GM? The liberal auto unions have totally ruined the auto manufacturing business. I agree that auto workers should make a decent living, but $60k+ a year seems a little ridiculous for screwing pieces on a car. Teachers and nurses who went to college and have student loans rarely make that much money. Meanwhile in Mexico, you can pay your workers $5 an hour and not have to worry about offending the Unions with every decision you make. We only have the liberal auto unions to blame for GM slowly leaving the US, and I'm sure the other Big 3 will follow sooner or later. Thats why Toyota and Honda can keep adding plants to the US- they aren't unionized!
