The difference is that you aren’t into drama. That’s why I watch your channel. It’s a safe space to enjoy the makeup. I appreciate that so much about you.
True!
Absolutely
I agree
Totally agree 💯
Totally agree. I’m not interested in how many bad things a certain person has done. I prefer the natural looks too. 🙂
It is SO refreshing to see a creator who genuinely loves makeup. We all do; that's why we're here! Your motivations have a purity to them because of your true passion for the beauty world ❤️
It wasn't until you spoke about only having one other person in your actual life that shares your passion for makeup that made me realize - I don't have anyone who shares my passion but I have never felt that because of the communities that UA-camrs create, thank you ❤️
Same 🙂
Same!
You are "one of my girls", as I call the ladies that I follow on UA-cam. You are all beautiful, smart, literate and genuinely genuine. I spend way too much times watching tutorials and reviews, but I can't help myself. I too, love makeup. I try to learn some of the latest techniques but at 69 I have hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, sagging, etc. I keep working at it and don't plan to stop anytime soon. So thanks for all you do and keep it up!!!
Thank you so much, Carroll! 💕🥰❤️ I’m really grateful for your support!!
Carroll perfectly said 💜, I’m the same about these young girls .
It’s good to know I’m not the only “older” person watching these make up videos. I’m 70 years old and still love make up and like trying new products. Allie is the best!
At 65 I completely agree with your comments! I guess it proves once a makeup addict always a makeup addict!
Allie, I am in my 70s, I love makeup. I am a consumer and practioner of this magical arts! I envy your having a passion as you vocation. I didn’t wear much makeup during our coVid isolation and a health issue. I'm back at it and playing daily with colors and techniques.
Also in my 70s and love my makeup! I don’t see ever giving up my makeup! Actually, used the pandemic to practice new techniques and products 👄…another hobby for my retirement! 😉
I love this, well done 👏😃
UMMM MAKEUP SLUMBER PARTY?!?! YESSSSSS! thank you for always keeping it about the makeup and teaching us to shop our stash! you have inspired me and so many people to do full faces of nothing new and I'm so grateful for you!
I’m 67 years old,and I am excited every day to do my hair and makeup! It is a passion, and it’s what makes me happy! You are a delight to watch, and I never get tired of learning! Thank you for sharing your passion with us!
Debi, I am 68 and feel the same as you. I enjoy doing my makeup everyday. Stick with it!
Time: 10:10....😭😍😭😍😭
I'm only 10 min and 10 secs in and let me tell you, honey my eyes are tearing up! Thank you for sharing your heart and thoughts with us. Your encouraging words have hit a home run. Thank you! May God continue to pour His blessings and graces in you and your family!🙏🏽❤️🥰🎉💯🙌🏽
I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not here because I love makeup. I'm here because I love you. I first came across your channel several years ago when I was searching for a simple 5 minute everyday look and was so taken by your kind and genuine personality that I've continued to eagerly look forward to and watch every one of your videos since. I deal with debilitating depression and anxiety and you are so soothing and calming to me and feel like I'm hanging out with a friend. I can't tell you the last time I bought or wore makeup, but I will never stop watching you for the way you lift my spirit and brighten my days. Much love. ❤️
You made my day! 💕❤️ Thank you so much for your love and support! 🥰 Love you so much!!!
People talk all the time about the drama in the beauty space on UA-cam but I really don’t see it because of who I choose to watch. I really appreciate creators like you, Samantha Ravndahl, and Julia Adams who are so smart and funny. Beauty UA-cam and makeup in general is a creative escape for me to wind down from a high stress healthcare career and OCD. Thank you for continuing to put out consistent, optimistic, and makeup focused content.
Ps all for a virtual slumber party 🎉
Makeup is totally my escape in life and what makes me the happiest. I love it so much that I ended up once crying cause I thought I lost motivation to do my makeup.
The only thing that remains constant is change. Allie I am 55 years old and I have been wearing makeup since I was 14 years old. I trained in cosmetics when I was 17. I have worked for over 20 years in luxury perfumery or with brands like Lancome or Estee Lauder. Life sometimes has other plans and I am living in Spain since 17 years. I work in a different job, but my love for Makup has never changed.i had also a blog. When my eyelids started to saggy I started watching videos and learning new techniques. You are right make up doesn't dies it just changes. I am so thankful, that today there are products in all price ranges and good quality, I love your channel and you. 💚
Never started taking doing my makeup seriously until following this channel. I was honestly intimidated (terrified even) with wearing makeup. I was never the creative type growing up and was more of a logical/math nerd and my creativity was limited. But Allie has made makeup a skill so obtainable and approachable that my intimidation faded. Makeup has become my gateway drug into creativity. I have revived an artsy side I didn’t know I had. Now I’m dabbling into calligraphy/origami/painting/baking (not a crazy amount) and I never thought I’d get into anything creative. But makeup is always is my creative expression of choice. I still go back on photos on my phone to see the progression I’ve made with my skill in doing my makeup and it’s empowering to know how far I’ve come and also to know I ain’t done yet. Can’t wait to learn more techniques and finesse the skills I’m comfortable with. Love this community on your channel and keep up the good content.
Thank you for just being you. It's so refreshing to see how truly giddy you get about your passion.
Makeup has always been such a big love/hate relationship in my life. It started out as a love, my creative outlet, turned into hate when I was a teenager/young woman struggling with bad skin and insecurities, then turned into an unhealthy obsession trying to achieve perfection. Now as a mother in my mid-thirties, I have learned the importance of balance. I no longer buy things I can’t afford or feel like I “need” anything and I know now I am beautiful with or without it. I embrace my love for makeup and am not ashamed in using it as my therapy. It was a long journey but influencers like YOU Allie, have helped make makeup feel like a safe space for me and I am truly grateful that we all get to experience our love for it together ❤️
I grew up not having a ton of choices in life so when I got into makeup I felt like I could do anything without questioning “why?” I just do it because I love it. And when I lost my job a year ago I used makeup as an escape and to gain my confidence back. I invested so much time and money into makeup that I feel it’s the one thing that no one can take away from me. Love you and your videos Allie! 🥰
Hey, Allie! I can totally relate to the “you’re not too old” part. I’ve always admired other people who were talented in doing their own makeup, but for me it’s been a long journey of find my way of doing things. And I feel like makeup has been my escape the last year, because I’m going through some sort of depression and makeup has been that one thing that I feel makes me feel good about myself. So I have invested in getting good at it, and actually I’ve learned a lot from your videos. So I guess I just wanted to say thank you! 🙏🏻
I LOVED What Not To Wear! Wow, that took me back.
My thoughts: I am not "into" makeup nearly as much as I was a few years ago, simply because I think it is all SO similar. However, I watch people like you Allie, consistently because you are passionate and interesting and that is what draws me the most. So I watch my beauty youtubers for them, not as much for the make up.
It is a bit disheartening to see so many creators doimg the same thing with the same products. So many recommend garbage products, just for likes and PR kits and money. Allie seems to say what she actually thinks.
I love these types of videos! Thank you!
My mom passed away a couple of years ago, and one of the first memories I have of her is about makeup. I was probably 5 or 6 and I remember watching Mom put her makeup on while she was getting ready for work. She was so beautiful! She left her makeup case out while she went to finish getting ready and so I got into it. When she came back into the room and saw me in it, she didn’t get mad. Instead she sat down next to me and taught me what all the different things were and how to use them. It’s a very precious memory. I’ve been hooked ever since!!! She really encouraged my freedom to play and experiment with all of it! At the same time she made sure to let teach me that I didn’t “need” makeup to be beautiful because I already was. Because of her, makeup is fun and a way to be creative and expressive!
I love the therapeutic aspect of just doing my makeup! and I just love watching you for all your joy and positivity! It’s so refreshing to have as a constant for us. (And yes, a makeup pj party sounds SO fun)
I am living for this more mature audience and how we all share a passion for beauty and makeup❤️❤️❤️
I have just recently started getting into makeup and I’m already obsessed. I love that if you have a physical thing you are insecure about you are able to fix it and if you love your insecurities you are able to amplify it. It really helps you be the person you want others to see.
Allie, thank you SO much for this video. I am in tears very literally. I resonate with every single point you made about makeup and then some - but also because of the potential different perspectives about vanity or misunderstood points of view on it that have kept me shoved in the corner, quiet, and just in a way "hiding" the pure joy and excitement I have for makeup and the enjoyment it brings into my life in such a deep way... hearing this has just confirmed for me that those feelings and meaningfulness behind all of the surface level stuff - EVEN IF no one else on the outside validates or agrees - are all very real for me & gave me a boost of much much needed confidence to hold on to that & maybe even re-visit the holed-away parts of me (in many more ways than just this one topic). I seriously just want to say thank you - so sincerely.. for this video, your openness and honesty, and for me even considered vulnerability + courage! I'm so glad I found your channel and came across this video at this timing in my personal life. The idea of makeup sleepover literally immediately got my brain giddy and rolling into a million different scenarios too!! I would've neverrrr thought anyone else out there would share such a similar stance! AHHH I almost want to say sorry, this is getting too deep and beyond the point of the video, but then again actually, no-I think it is that deep & for me this really was much much more healing that you can imagine. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Much much love
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS ALL MEANS TO ME 🥺😭💕❤️ thank YOU for this entire comment… I feel SO BLESSED! 🥰 I love and appreciate you SO MUCH! You are so important to me! ❤️
I agree wholeheartedly with you Allie!
Being 52, I have seen makeup evolve so much and it is incredible to have the quality and variety we have now. My love of makeup is lifelong and will never stop!!!
When I was a young teen my love for makeup started as a way to cover up my acne which was worse than most kids my age. It was very persistent. My mom was not at all into makeup so i was really on my own. I remember being so excited to get my pay from my part time job to be able to go explore the drugstore, and I used Revlon colorstay for YEARS! With the little square makeup spoges(WAY before the beauty blenders!) When I got a little more brave I remember going to the dept store and discovering Ultima makeup(they had a line called The nakeds that was so unique for the time) and then discovering Bobbi Brown later in the 1990s. It was such a revelation to have foundation that was yellow toned instead of the pinkish color that everything seemed to be before her.
Reflecting on how much better makeup is now makes me happy and i believe the UA-cam beauty community deserves the credit for the innovation and improvements we've had in the past decade for sure!
Focus on the positive and do what you love and makes you happy!!!
(Like watching Allies videos and sharing the mutual love of makeup!) 😘
You are the sweetest!! 💕 I really appreciate your comment! Thank you! ❤️
I use makeup since I was a teenager too. I'm now 46. And I learned so much more about makeup from some channels here on UA-cam. I'm more brave in such things.
@@allieglines it would not necessarily be expected, I guess, from someone my age, but you are absolutely a top 3 favorite artist of mine. Skill, class, and authenticity are ageless!
Make-up for me is everything. It’s joy, it’s sadness, it’s freedom! It’s basically my therapy, I relax so much watching makeup videos and doing my makeup, I could spend an entire week watching them lol 😂
I loved every single word you said, I saw myself in the words that you said and that’s what makeup is about! Feeling good and being at peace ♥️
I love this, Allie! I’m still just as excited and inspired by makeup, and by creators like you. I think whether the beauty community is “dead” or not is a matter of perspective. I think those of us who are in it simply for the love of learning about makeup know that this community is alive and well. Those of us who are here to find kinship with others who love beauty will always have a place here. Thanks for being a part of that safe, comforting, and inspiring space! 💖
I came on your channel by chance 2 years ago and I try not to miss a video ever. The reason why is because I love makeup as much you do. I really love the safe makeup space that you've made for all of us. You at least make me feel at home with the style of video you do. Thank you for being so genuine.
Omg Allie I have been saying the exact same thing for ages!!! I walk into a Zara and buy nothing, easily, walk into Sephora and my wallet cries lol!!! I can go out completely bare faced or with a full glam, depending on my mood, what I am doing and where I am going that day, but I love makeup. Always have and always will!
I've been in the 'pots' since I was 12. Im now 58, a salon owner. I love the way makeup transforms everyone and the confidence it instills. It never gets old.
Makeup also makes me feel creative & confident! I’ve never loved my body, but being able to focus more on the features on my face makes me feel better. It’s therapeutic & just all around a boost for me.
Yes!!!!
What Not To Wear was one of my faves!!!!!
So refreshing! I love seeing people follow their dream and I'm happy you're living yours.
i got into makeup because of beauty influencers like you! honestly, ally, your love of makeup is so contagious and keeps me so excited about it all
As a girl with inherited dark circles, the transformation of my confidence level that occurred when my mother let me buy my first Maybelline color corrector/concealer has instilled my absolute love of makeup. Still to this day, my husband gives me a hard time because I love doing my makeup, even when going nowhere…it lifts my mood and makes the whole day better!
you have taught me so much about the application and process of makeup!! your love of what you do and positive attitude towards life...you are always an inspiration! thank you for being there so faithfully!! the best is yet to come!! ❤
Allie, this video was just what I needed. You brightened my day. It reassured me that I am not weird for loving makeup and watching UA-cam making videos. I just recently watched one of the “the beauty community is dying” videos and it honestly made me sad to think people feel that way; I couldn’t disagree more. Thank you for being a bright spot in the community. Never stop being your makeup loving self 💕
I will ALWAYS be here for you! 💕 Love you so much!!!!
Never think you are weird for liking something that brings you joy. Life is too short for that. Love what you love!!
I always love make up. At the age of 56 years, now, it' s a passion. It all began when I watch a tutoriel 2 years ago. I learned how to do my my make up .Since then I'm following 8 make up artists from Quebec, Canada ( I am french canadien),,from France and from USA. Doing my make up each morning makes me happy and confidente. Thank you Allie for your teaching. xxx
I’ve always loved makeup, but the pandemic made me love it even more! I was so inspired and spent most of my free time doing makeup. I started using more color, and watching UA-cam (that’s why I suffer when people say it’s the end of the beauty community, because I have just entered it!). Then, at the end of 2020, I had a huge acne crisis (it was awful, my confidence went down), and I started learning much more about base makeup. Now a days makeup is my therapy (not just physical therapy, but mental therapy), I even watch more UA-cam than Netflix hahaha.
Love you lots! I see every video you upload, I love your energy and passion for makeup!
Greetings From Chile!
Sofía
Same for me! I was always so scared to wear colorful makeup out, and being stuck inside gave me that outlet to become comfortable and confident expressing myself in that way. Now I wear colorful makeup every day and cant even believe i used to be scared of it. Makeup is 100% my therapy too
I mean you are as sweet as can be! I just love you. I love the serial optimist that you are! GaaaH you melt my heart!
So for a virtual slumber party playing makeup…I’m in! Definitely a minimum of 2 hour live platform. It would be super fun to ask Miss Bonnie Hoellein to be a guest slumber party influencer to pop in and for us over 40 gals Miss Laura Fagelman to pop on and maybe like 2 of your sisters to actually be at your house playing makeup with us. Tylan popping popcorn and serving yummy virgin mock tails. OMGeeeee I feel the vibes!!!
This would be so much fun!! I would be so excited to be invited as a virtual guest!! bleas your heart for thinking of me!! I think Allie and Tylan would be a complete blast to hang with. I bet we all would be giggling for hours XOXO 😘
Love you too ALLIE. I watch you, Emily Noel, and Zabrena as the only UA-cam makeup artists because you are very honest, wholesome, and you use reasonably priced drugstore makeup. The vibe you send out into the world is so positive, loving and kind. This is what our world needs. God bless you.
Love you, Nancy!! ❤️💕🥰
@@allieglines hi i hope to hear from you soon
I love makeup bc it’s the only time I really get for myself.. I have 4 kids aged 4 through 14 and I’m in nursing school. I love finding different things that work for me and the confidence it gives when I’m done. I also love doing it with my 7 year old daughter when we’re just hanging around the house. It’s fun and it makes me feel creative. I usually turn in music and do it or play a UA-cam video in the background while I’m zoning out and getting ready
I'm a late comer to the passion of make up and in my mid 40's but I love how it can empower people and be used for self expression.
I love all the shiny shimmers the bright colors bold or pastel and the textures!!! Makeup brings me joy and makes me smile
I am 51 and was allowed to start wearing some make up at 12. I have been in love with make up and skincare ever since. I can totally relate being willing to spend on make up but not clothes. Thank you for inspiration, I truly look forward to your content.
I saw a video posted by a prominent beauty YT’er yesterday about the beauty community dying, saved it to watch later, but ended up deleting it without watching. I’m just not here for that kind of energy. You, Allie, are so much more my speed! I appreciate you for keeping it positive without trashing anybody else.
You've been one of my favorite humans for so many years now! 💕 I feel like we've all watched you grow and blossom into this makeup goddess. Stay you, Allie! Much love.
🥺😭🥰 thank you so much!! Love you!!
I started watching makeup videos back in 2009 when I was in college...I became obsessed. I would be up all hours of the night watching video after video. It was my fun space and it stayed that way for about 10 years until it just naturally fizzled away for me. For the past few years my passion has been skincare, and achieving my best skin ever. I barely wear makeup now but I still like watching others apply it, like you and the other more down to earth makeup lovers.
Just saw the title - and I already agree
Your positivity is the reason that I love your channel and videos. Thank you, Allie.
Lol my fun “discovery” story is that i found you while looking for foundations reviews and we were the exact same shade for all of the products! Subscribed for the inside scoop on shades and stayed for the amazing, down to earth content!! 💙
I am so happy that we found each other! 💕❤️ love you!!!
I relate to this! I found Allie because I was looking for the best mascara:). Then, I realized we were the same foundation shade!!! I love knowing that the tones and shades will work on me too!!!
I love that you brought up the simplicity in everything. That's actually why I started watching your channel! I feel like people who do makeup on UA-cam make things so complicated and I end up looking worse than with no makeup. But after I found your channel my makeup has never looked better. You keep things so simple and fresh-looking and it has changed the whole game for me!
Growing up I knew nothing about makeup (my mom never wore any), so I want to say thank you for helping me actually enjoy makeup and doing my makeup 😍
Thank u so much for making this video, I really needed it. I’ve seen a lot of “the beauty community is dead” videos recently and it makes me lowkey irritated bc to me it’s not dead at all LOL also a lot of it is coming from ppl who just don’t feel as connected to the makeup world anymore / aren’t feeling interested or inspired by makeup which is fine, but then I don’t think they can make such generalizations of something based off their own experience.
Couldn't agree more. I have to wonder if some are doing it for the views that it might generate....? I love Allie's videos and appreciate that she keeps it light & drama-free. Thank you Allie! xoxo
Rawbeautykristi just did one yesterday and I am so discouraged now
@@momsmakeupmadness2145 I had to choose to stop follow RawBeautyKristi because it left me feeling sad, down and just not happy. I understand that she has some issues but I need someone lighthearted.
@@momsmakeupmadness2145 saw it and it hit me more as a reflection of her and not the world we're in... she's been clear about not really enjoying makeup, which is fine, but that doesn't mean she needs to bring us all down.
@@gdeannecampbell1067 I agree. I still follow her, but I have to be choosy about which of her videos I watch now. she did a cute one a bit ago about a ColourPop Winnie the Pooh collab which was more lighthearted.
I got my love of makeup from my grandmother. I’ve always loved it and always will. I’m 52 and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! It’s just fun and it always fits. Can you share some of the people you follow? I’d love to discover some more creators to watch. Also I love how you’re using older makeup and not just the new stuff. I want to see things that I might have missed the first time around or a tried and true favorite. New isn’t always better!
We need a t-shirt that says "assessing the situation" 😂 love your content, Allie!
❤️ ❤️ 🎁🎁Thank you for watching and commenting and congratulations you have been selected in my draw winners ☝️☝️☝️Dm to claim your prize ✨✨🎉🎊🎁 Thank you ❤️ ❤️ 🎁 🎁
I love art and makeup is just one of many ways to incorporate art in my life. In decorating, drawing, writing, baking-and my face! I fell in love with makeup and I wake up and look forward to it every day!
Sometimes it’s just the little things in life, right? Thank you for this-I’ve been watching you since you started your channel and I’m so proud of how far you’ve come along and yet how you have remain authentic and true to what you love!
You are an inspiration!
And YES!!! Virtual makeup party!! Yesssss!
I would love some sort of face to face, maybe digital “sleepover” where we can chat and talk make up 💕 I love you and your channel. You’re so sweet, honest and drama free. It’s refreshing
That is such a cute idea
I never knew this was supposed to be dying out. I love it and enjoy so much when I watch the videos and all of you and the beautiful looks you create. I love makeup much more now than I ever did. We were not allowed to wear makeup until the age of 18 so I love these videos so much and I am learning so much about the when, why and how's of makeup. We feel the same about you Allie and we are so glad you are there. The pearls of wisdom you impart to us about makeup are invaluable and we thank you so very much and love you too Allie. I love shopping for makeup now instead of clothes like I used to buy. Love you Allie.
I feel just like you, I love makeup and find new inspo almost every week. I dont think the community is dyien but it is changing and it should. Its natrual to change and evolve. The once who say its dying maybe its dying for them. Hey I just found your channel a few months ago and now I look forward to your videos every week. Its life and you change and I guess so do influencers/youtubers. I mean we cant always watch the same five youtubers forever, its like that in everything, music, fashion, sports theres change and new creatiors/artists coming out all the time. I think the beautycommunity is very much alive you just have to now where to look. =)
Makeup will never die out! I love all the options and shopping is a lot of fun. I enjoy sitting and putting on skin care and makeup everyday. It excites me to use different products and find what I love and feel beautiful in. 😍
I will wear the same 5 outfits for the rest of my life to have ALL the skincare...So I get it!! :)))
My best friend first introduced me to makeup after a sleepover. I was 12 years old. She put black eyeliner on me and mascara. I went home and my mom's jaw dropped. She knew there was no turning back 😅 since that day, I have learned to experiment with all different types of products, techniques, and styles. It has taken me a LONG time to master the makeup look that I feel the most beautiful and most confident in. I am still playing around with different looks and new products and still finding my niche. I have loved makeup from day 1. The way it boosts my confidence is like no other. However, I also have learned to love my face without makeup. I will never stop loving makeup and buying it. I love that you have the same mindset as me and so many others, Allie. Thanks for being you and for sharing your passion with us. It truly has been a blessing to watch you over the last few years. Love you 😍
After my son passed away I've gotten such a deep depression that it almost killed me when I started fighting my way back up out of it makeup seemed to help me find my confidence and find A positive creative Outlet and today I'm so thankful people like you, love ya chick!!
Hang in there!! 👍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 we are praying for you.
Thank you for sharing this ❤️ I am so grateful for you 💕 sending ALL OF MY LOVE to you!
@@allieglines beautiful soul you are!!!
@@allieglines 👏🙌👍
I’m so sorry about ur son
Allie, I LOVE that you are a serial optimist. In a world filled with hate and negativity, it’s people like you who are a shining light in the darkness. Your channel truly is a safe space 💜
Thank you so much for the intro to this! Makeup brought you to me, and you in turn inspired me to get back to creative videos myself! You inspire me and my channel so much with your kind hearted videos and beautiful looks, I always look forward to your videos 🥰 x
I wore makeup as a teen to hide myself. I was so incredibly insecure. Watching your content was the first time I was inspired to use makeup for fun, for me. Thank you for being you! Your personality is so bright, inspiring, and welcoming. Love you ❤️
I couldn’t agree with you more, Allie! I create beauty content too and for me I feel like I’m always discovering, learning and doing new and different things. I LOVE makeup and my love for makeup will never die. I think just because of that reason, this space will never die either! It’s such an evolving community and space within social media!
You started my new leap into makeup, with my last time being a teenager. I am now 47 and have never enjoyed it as much as I do now! It’s always a wonderful addition to my day when I watch your videos. They never cease to make me smile! Thank you for what you have brought into my days, and never stop what you are doing!💓💄👄 eternally grateful from Calgary Canada 🇨🇦
I started with makeup when I was in high school- I had a bb cream, eyeliner, and mascara. After high school, I kind of gave up on makeup because it seemed like too much effort. I just got back into it a year and a half ago- and now I'm obsessed. I started by watching Juicy Jas and then UA-cam recommended your videos and I now look forward to seeing the notification on my phone whenever either of you posts! There are so many products I love because of your recommendations and so many tips I have learned from watching your videos. I appreciate everything you add to the beauty world! ❤️
PS I'm so into the virtual pajama party idea!!
I think a pj make up virtual party would be amazing! I wore make up as a teenager. I took some time off when I had my daughter until Covid. I started using make up again to feel more put together. I was so inspired by you and some other creators. I love make up so much as a creative outlet! Thanks for continuing to inspire me and others 💕
I started LOVING makeup when my precious mom had an AVON lady when I was around 5 or 6 years of age. I would stand next to my mom every morning when she was applying her makeup. And of course she would start with moisturizer, then foundation and then rouge (yikes…did I say rouge??!!). My mom wore makeup until she passed at the ripe age of 95 years young. Well….I’m a chip off the
‘Ol block….only more so than my precious mom. I will be 75 soon and I am literally obsessed with makeup. I want all the high end stuff…especially
the really beautiful high end foundations. When the new foundations came out this year I literally wanted to try ALL of them. Then I think…yikes, will I live long enough to use all of them?! Makeup make me feel wonderful. God has blessed me with really good skin and I want to nurture it for as long as I live. I have a twin sister who could care less as well as many of my friends. I love makeup more now than ever……AND. FRAGRANCE 🥰😜♥️!!
Every time you and others have makeup tutorials I am right there watching and drooling cause I want to try everything!!!!! YOU are such a sweetheart!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this!! 💕❤️ I am so grateful for you!! 🥰 love you so much!!
I just got really into makeup within the last couple months but it’s been so fun to experiment with self expression. There are endless possibilities and no wrong answers!!! I love the journey to finding what you love and what works for you, there’s really nothing like finding the perfect product🥰
I love this video! I've been dreaming of my own UA-cam channel since I was 10 years old. I'm 24 now and I still didn't believe I was able to do it and thought it was too
late for that. Makeup is my passion and my best friend. I want to start posting on instagram reels to gain more self-confidence.✨
You can do ANYTHING!! 💕❤️ The perfect day will never come, so just start!! 🥰 love you!!
I am in my 40’s and I love watching you because you make me love makeup more than I ever have. I have been wearing it since I was 15, and I don’t leave the house without it. I even put it on when I don’t leave the house because I love it that much. I can see your love of makeup in every video you make and every video I watch of yours makes me remember why I love it so much. I am so glad I found your channel!
Couldn’t agree more!! I love and appreciate what you do here and I love being able to hang out and talk beauty.
Allie YOU are the one who restarted my love of make up all over again. I'm in my 60s and because of you i actually want to start my own channel focusing on beauty for the mature woman! You truly are amazing! Xoxo
I love makeup, but what has kept me watching UA-cam for so many years is the PEOPLE in the videos. I love so many creators that I watch on here. Truly UA-cam is a special place. ❤️
Thank you Allie for being so genuine and real. I have recently found your Chanel and you’ve helped me (a near 50 yr old woman) become more confident with makeup. No one has ever shown me how to do my make up and you’ve been a large part of helping me become more confident with my application. And now I’m having fun with it. Thank you!!
The hour I spend in the morning doing my makeup is so relaxing and such a nice way to wake up. I have a coffee and call my mom or watch something on YT and I just love it.
I don't think I have ever commented before but I have been a big fan of yours for awhile now. You're such a kind person and I can tell you truly hate saying anything negative about a product. Your videos are informative & entertaining & relaxing. I have always loved makeup but lately have little time to wear it. I have been taking care of my father full-time by myself & he has dementia which is challenging. Your videos give me an chance to relax even if it is only for 15 minutes. Thank you Allie for bringing a bright spot to my day!
I am 30 years old (going on 31 in July) and I only took an interest in makeup a little more than one year ago. My reason for doing so was not only to learn how to enhance my features or hide my imperfections but also because I noticed how the simple act of putting on some liquid eyeliner, applying mascara and lip gloss just made me feel so confident. So far I have not managed to replicate this feeling with any other activity which is fine by me. I am hooked on makeup now and I am not afraid to admit it 😃 Also I think the virtual pajama party is a great idea and would be so much fun! Keep up the great work Allie and never lose your humility, it’s one of the many reasons why I became one of your loyal subscribers.
You are one of the few channels/ beauty influencer that I follow because of your admiration and passion for makeup. I love how you discussed transformation, because it truly can be remarkable to see makeup transform and capture a person's beauty. I love how excited you get about makeup! You radiate in happiness and sheer joy! As another person commented, you have stayed away from the drama, you aren't pushy about products, and you remain your true amazing authentic self! Thank you for gracing us with your videos! ❤
allie, you are a doll. thank you for your very inspiring tutorial today. so glad i came across you about 3 years ago. i love to get up each day and that time infront of my makeup table is my creative moment each morning. i totally get you. im 47 and feel so inspired to keep doing the things i love after watching you today! thx so much girl. :)
I got into makeup during a really down time in my life. I had moved away from “home” for the first time and I stumbled upon one of Milana’s videos. I fell in love with makeup and various creators, including you. It made me feel less alone and like I had a community because I was physically in a new place. Thank you for your help during that time Allie. You don’t know how much it means.
Makeup has literally changed my life. I started with Dollar Tree makeup when I was 16, I started researching and watching YT videos when I was 18, and it was a year later in 2020 that I really started playing with color and practicing everyday. I especially loved doing character inspired looks, which I was already into with my hair. It was around then that I also found and started following the homier and cozy channels like Allie and Jessica Braun. I absolutely adore the makeup community and the tips and product recommendations. It’s like a whole other world in and if itself. I’m one of 7 and my six siblings are all boys and my mama is not a makeup interested type person. So even though I don’t have anyone to share in personally with my love of makeup, I don’t feel alone because of the wonderful creators like Allie and the community around them. Doing my makeup is so therapeutic and calming and brings a sense of normalcy and accomplishment and creativity to my day. It’s such a wonderful thing! With all the various textures and formulas and techniques available it never gets boring, even if it is repetitive at times from some brands. I’m so thankful for the people like you Allie who are dedicated to honest yet kind reviews, including when something may not work for you but isn’t necessarily a bad product because of that. I have grown so so much in my knowledge of what works for me and what I actually like and actually will use because of this community. It’s such a wonderful thing to have available for all of us! Love you, Allie!
At the age of 13 makeup changed my confidence so much ! I’m 59 and have also had a love of makeup forever! I worked for Estée Lauder from 21-28 which was a dream job ~ I learned about skincare (sun damage 😢) and how to help other women feel good about themselves!! I appreciate what you share and your sweet spirit ❤️
I have been wearing makeup since I was 12. I believe it was 2015 that I walked into my first Sephora. I was like a kid in a candy store. Before the pandemic, I did my full face with samples. You are a breath of fresh air & I look forward to your videos every week. Thanks for sharing your passion & talent with all of us.
You are so special, Allie! Your love for makeup is contagious 💗 We always appreciate your love and support! Identity Palette is stunning on you, as always 😍
Must tell you you are my makeup guru! I am just starting to use makeup again. I started wearing makeup like you and was never without it. I got sick in 2015 and didn’t have the energy or even care about wearing makeup. I have decided to wear makeup again and quickly found my products lacking as much as my skill. I have been watching your videos and I love you, you’re pretty and honest and informative. I am making progress and of course buying product and tools, I can’t help myself. I’m having a good time and my husband doesn’t mind the investment because he says I look happy and I am. This is in large part due to the inspiration you have given me. Thank you so much for sharing it’s made a huge difference in my life!!!!
Love you
I am thankful for your channel. I am thankful for makeup. I haven't always been into makeup... It started for me like 6 to 7 years ago. Makeup was one of the things that saved me. My mom passed away (only child)and I was so depressed... I found makeup yt videos and down the rabbit hole I went. Long story short, Til this day, Makeup gets me out of a "funk", it makes me feel better about myself and will always be a part of my routine. I get all gitty and excited to just even swatch or rearrange my makeup on my vanity when i just need time to myself. I have a wonderful husband who understands my love for makeup and has built me the makeup room/ vanity of my dreams bc he knows this is what helps me and makes me happy. Makeup and makeup videos for me is here to stay. Your channel is like a breathe of fresh air. I can tell makeup is your passion and you care about what you do. Also, the people in Your comment section are lovely too! Thank you for making videos and all you do!
PS and what a throw back of the persona palette! lol its just a great, simple, easy go to palette! Just like MAKEUP IS AND SHOULD BE!
I love make up cos it’s therapeutic. It’s therapeutic applying it, buying it, watching UA-camrs apply it and learning new things about make up. All in all, the whole process helps me get through the day, and makes me feel confident and put together. End of story. The beauty space can’t disappear. I have so much more to learn from you guys
Loved this. I truly don't think the YT Beauty community is dead either. I started watching makeup videos about 6 years ago when I got sick and had the first of many surgeries and wasn't working and was really down. It was like company while I was alone. And I have always LOVED makeup. I don't know anyone else who does, and used to get the eye roll from family and friends about it. Fast forward and 2 years ago I needed another back surgery and it left me with nerve damage, affecting the use of my leg and I lost my ability to continue working as a Veterinary nurse which was my identity, my best life. It really broke me. I stopped bothering with makeup, and with myself but still kept watching the creators that I follow. Of course that includes Allie! I only follow a handful of people that inspire me both in makeup and in life. Then I picked up my brushes and started playing again. It's brought me so much joy. I explained to my family that it's like doing art for me but on a face. I love doing friends makeup for fun when they ask. I would love to do it as a new career and I have an idea for a channel that I've had for a few years. But being able to buy products is just not a thing. I love to try and collect things now and again. An actual "collection " is the dream! But I'll see what life holds. Meanwhile I will never get sick of your beauty space! Im not a TikTok girl. I'm a YT OG and always will be. Thank you for everything Allie. You LITERALLY brighten my days.
It Is so wonderful watching your videos and watch someone who can be so optimistic all the time! Makeup is a huge passion of mine and doing my makeup and getting ready every day is my therapy time. Nothing makes me feel as good as looking in the mirror when I'm done seeing what look I created 😁 You truly inspire me in every one of your videos, thank you for being you!! ❤️❤️
Allie! UA-cam makeup videos make me so happy!! This space has brought me so much joy, and I just love listening to you talk about how much you love make up!! I am the same way.... it makes me so happy and I never get tired of it... love from Atlanta ❤️
I've literally loved make up my entire life. I'm 30 years old and nothing gives me more joy than just sitting down and doing my make up in peace. I recently redid the way i keep my make up collection and bought the Alex Ikea drawers and i love make up EVEN MORE NOW IF POSSIBLE because I've really organized my collection in a way that i can see everything and use all the things i own up before buying new make up. I also struggle with Make up FOMO and i've realized that i usually also do the exact same thing that you do and rationalize all my make up purchases and spend my money on barely anything else. OH WELL IT MAKES US HAPPY LOL. Doing my make up just makes me incredibly happy and makes me feel a bit stress free esp when the world outside can be intense. It's my safe space and I absolutely love the ranting/message behind this video, and of course you Allie. There are so many times when I want to buy ALL the new releases but then i reel it in a realize I already have so much make up I love and I should show more love to the make up I already have invested in before purchasing more without needing too. WHICH IS ANOTHER REASON WHY I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BECAUSE I LOVE YOUR "FULL FACE OF NOTHING NEW" VIDEOS. THEY GIVE ME LIFEEEE. (seriously, I love those, and they make me feel less FOMO which is the best part, and also seeing your sweet self). Of course, I'm also not perfect, but I'm so glad to know that someone as amazing and involved in the beauty industry as you also struggles with similar issues. I love you Allie, and your positive energy always turns my day around
OMG yes! The beginning of the video when you were asking about what got us started and interested in makeup, What Not to Wear popped into my head as the first makeup video 'how to's' that I watched!
Makeup for me is about feeling pretty tbh. And your videos are something I enjoy watching after a day like today, after almost 13 hours at work and giggling with all the excitement that you transmit through the screen. So thank you for all the videos you consistently post 💕 Love you Allie!
I totally agree, the love for makeup is what brings us together! And that’s why I love you so much, it’s a space for just enjoying makeup ❤️ we don’t need to wear makeup, we get to 😊
This video is so refreshing!! A video was posted by SOMEONE that the beauty community is dead or the downfall but I left a really positive and true comment on that video saying “not to me! I love makeup and makeup reviews and wearing makeup to this very day! Makeup makes me happy and always will!”
Allie!! I'm like you. I'm tired of reading everywhere that the beauty community is dying, that people don't care about makeup anymore and rely more and more on skincare. I utterly differ with them, I still love watching youtube videos about makeup, learning new techniques and improve my skills.
And this relates with why I love your content so much, you seem to enjoy makeup as much as me. There are little beauty gurus out there who love so much their work as you.
Love you!
