I like Ted, but in that episode he was such a jerk. I mean, what kind of friend brings a stranger to a birthday party with only five other people without even asking beforehand?
Lol it was more of a plot thing than a character thing. Would be more adequate if Barney was the one who did it, but I guess it wouldn't have as much impact since we'd know it was just some chick he picked up and wouldn't see again after this.
God I hate that look Ted gives Marshall near the end when its absolutely 100% his fault for bringing a stranger. Marshall: "Hey Ted, can you pick up that super special cake from that one specialty store for LILY'S BIRTHDAY?" Ted: "Sure I hear you loud and clear, ill bring a random chick who can bake a random cake im such an awesome friend" gah
He has every right to be mad at Ted, it's his fault, but he and Lily were total assholes to that girl, she was an innocent bystander who had absolutely no fault of what was happening.
@@simaomonteiro2260 Meh, exactly, she is a stranger and they are strangers to her, she won't be too upset- and honestly, she should have refused to go to a birthday party where she never even met the birthday girl ffs.
@@jamman9569 Meh, no one said Ted otherwise isn't a good friend but if you fuck up, you fuck up and should apologize. It doesn't matter if you did something nice the other day. Not to mention that this is a repeated faux pass.
The girl who made the cake is not exactly an innocent party here, either. This is someone's birthday cake, and she doesn't even care enough to remember the correct NAME and AGE! wtf?
The conversation with Robbin in balcony it describes him very well "Everyday I think I believe a little bit less and a little less and a little less and that sucks." Through the seasons, he was losing hope and that's why he was so desesperated with a lot of girls.
I don't remember this episode but couldn't the girl at least have asked how old she was turning and how to spell the name right before making the cake?? Like even if you don't know the exact name, how difficult is it to go "how do you spell your name? I want to make sure I get it exactly right"
Okay but still on that girl if she wasn't sure about Lily's age or name why the heck do you put 42 and Lori put "happy birthday" and save yourself the trouble
Lily is acting super childish and bratty here, but they're getting dropped as a friend if somebody like Ted pulled this kinda shit with me. Especially because of Ted's established history.
Ted annoys me with the whole “she is the one” crap. Lily is absolutely right in trying to keep this within their family. Especially when these are just one night stand equivalents. Of course lily and Marshall could be more polite and just ask her to leave so they can have their event.
They make friends with the random girl Ted brought to bake Lilys birthday cake, all take a picture, and one year later they go through their Photo album and Ted already forgot who the girl was.
@@areyoulistening6367 lily apologised to ted for not allowing him to invite the girl into the picture. Lily remembered that Ted invited her into the picture when her and Marshall were first going out. They then fast forward a year later and Ted forgot the girl in the picture and Robin got revenge on Barney by putting silantro in the dip which is spicy and Barney had a bad picture which Robin was pleased with.
The gang is being way too hard on Ted here. If the rest of the group have all had such a big problem with Ted bring girls to these intimate events for years why are they just now telling him about it? It’s not all Ted’s fault if they never said anything. Also Marshall yelling at Amanda was uncalled for!!
I mean they really were mad at Ted (tho that girl could've just called Ted for a second to ask him Lily's name and age, like come on) because he keeps bringing these girls to their supposedly just them events. He could at least give them a heads up. Also, he was supposed to bring a cake, not someone who was going to bake a cake at their house, like that is way too different of a plan to just sprung up on someone. So yeah, I agree that they shouldn't be mad at the girl, tho fair play to Lily cause she didn't say anything, it was Marshall who yelled at her. But also, I very much see why they are so mad at Ted, it's his fault.
BriEntAnderson Yearh the more the better, when it's people you know and are close to. Not a complete stranger, who is going to be in the pictures. And frankly Lilly is aloud to be self entitled, when it's her birthday. Plus it's not just birthdays that Ted brings his dates to, it's other stuff, and when the relatiionship dosn't work out Marshall is left to pick up the pieces. The problem with Ted is that he seems to think that every girl he dates could be the one.
You know, the first time when I was watching this, I totally sided with Marshall/Lily. However now looking back on it ( and as I’ve grown up) I do really see how they were selfish. First, I don’t think the Ted bringing around his flings to intimate stuff like this without asking is fine. However I think that Lily and Marshal should have been more considerate. Instead of expecting him not to bring anyone, they should have told him not to. It would have cleared this whole mess up. People need to stop assuming that others think the same way as them. Second, most of us like bringing dates to events. It feels nice to have someone special just for us when hanging out with friends. Lily and Marshall already have that, they don’t know what’s it like to be single and just wanting your special someone around. Like, who are they to say who is special or not for Ted. As he pointed out, Robin wasn’t considered special at first and then became special overtime so it’s a possibility (and as we see since he has a multitude of girlfriends throughout to show) that they need to give every girl chance because they can be the one for him eventually. I do think that some of the girls can be crazy like that girl strawberry, but they can’t blame him for some action that another person does. Also considering the fact that Lily literally broke up half of Ted’s relationships I think it’s wrong for her to ever discuss anything like this. Talking about inappropriate..
