Today I just felt like creating some original music and seeing what comes out! I put together this track in an hour or so today. I always create solos by improvising a bunch of times over the track and seeing what sticks. The final take is ALWAYS slightly improvised because I'm a huge fan of capturing some spontaneity in the recording. Without it, it sounds dull and rehearsed to me.
One of the reasons I love having a Les Paul style guitar is being able to play in different tunings without having to worry about a floating tremolo system. This guitar sounds AMAZING a half step down or in Drop C# which is what I'm in here. It can be great for inspiring new/different musical ideas like this solo!

I've watched this clip at least once a day since it came out. This solo is definitely in my top 10 of all time favorite Solos. It's got everything. Technical and tasty. One bend with vibrato in particular at 0.33 is almost like a drug to me. Sweet and saucy. It's awesome

The guitar solo video was really cool. I think the improvised performance makes it feel more free and lively. It was impressive to see them exploring new musical ideas with Les Paul style guitars. I'm excited that this creative way of working will create more great solos. The personality and passion in the solo are really delicious!

is it just me or 0:15 - 0:27 just screams zakk wylde?
0:49 should have been the end of the solo, on the long bend. Perfect transition back into a chorus or pre-chorus. Just my opinion if I was arranging a track from this piece.
