I figure he either bought it from Shannon or it was the band's kit to begin with. I think most touring drummers have two kits, one at home and one with the band.
He gave it to the band when he left cause he had a second one and they needed a kit for a future drummer to use during the future auditions and touring for them if they didn’t have good gear to use. Need to sound pro at all times.
@@AlanCassidy I hope you and the BDM family are doing ok. I only just found your channel. I'm blown away that this was Shannon's kit first and and sounds so amazing!
What a great life this kit has had, 15 years of touring in the hands of living gods who have never stopped hammering it, and boy does it give it back! Love Tama, wish I had one.
Thank you for everything you do Allen. You have inspired my drumming and tbdm changed my life and whole idea of what i thought i wanted out of death metal. So truly man thank you for your craft my dude
Love vids like this, thanks for the upload man! Hopefully there can be more informative stuff in the future too. I'd take anything like technique rundowns or even like song analysis type stuff haha This kit layout is pretty legendary imo, it really is the perfect setup without going over the top. It's really cool to even go all the way back to live vids of Zach doing Miasma stuff and seeing nearly the same kit layout, and this actually being the same shells from Shannon's time is really cool. The layout being so consistent kind of ties the albums together too, every song can be recreated perfectly live and it works so well with the different styles each drummer brings to the table. Super sick stuff if you ask me
Cory also got a kit like this for Europe which is a Tama star classic I believe (which is part of our backline over there) and it was based off Derek Roddy’s set up from way back then too, or so I remember Brian telling me
This dude came in to my store last night and saw my TBDM sweater and goes, "man, that really sucks, huh..." and I'm a workaholic and was unaware... So I was confused and asked what he meant... Sorry to hear about Trevor... The band will never be the same. I was just getting used to you being in the band and now this... Obviously, it sucks far worse for other reasons, but... Fuck... Hope you guys stay together and I can't think of the right word, but hope you find someone "worthy" of vocals... Goes without saying to take all the time you guys need... I've seen you guys 4 times, 2 with Shannon and 2 with you. Fuck, man... Fuuuuuuck... Hang in there...
What a humble and knowledgeable guy , I can speak of using cheap gear when one of first big gigs was opening for STP I was rocking sabian B8s and a pacific kit
The killer combination, Birch/Bubinga and Evans G2/G1, all these drummer, After the burial, Veil of Maya, Unearth, definitely they cannot go wrong with this combo.
That's interesting that hes playing Shannon's old kit because from the very time he joined the band I always thought it looks like hes playing on Shannon's kit because he used the same identical drum set up including his cymbal set up.
I love the stage setup on this tour so much. I miss when bands put money into backdrops/stage scrims/ & drum heads. It gives a much more professional look!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Now you guys just need some pyro to bring it all together.
Pretty sick... It was cool to hear that it was shannons set originally. I am by no means a fan who compares peoples music abilities like some elitest pig.., but man, you filled those shoes. Thats for sure. Cant wait to see TBDM again!!
Pretty interesting that you ended up taking over a bunch of Shannon's stuff including the entire fucking kit lmao. Cool to take a look at the gear though, those birch bubingas are cool as fuck.
Love it, man! I should’ve jumped at getting that zildjian a custom ride you had up for sale! 😂 what’s the pedals you’re playing on? My old when I got them… dw 5000s are shot. I’ve been looking to upgrade. You know me though, I don’t have the metal skills that you possess. I’m leaning towards the dyna syncs, though they will never reach their true potential via me.
Does ANYONE know what kind of cymbal felts those are? They look like rubber clips that clamp on the stand instead of constantly having to screw and unscrew to get the cymbals off. Alan, care to help me out??
I can give you the settings when I turn it on next but it’s really gonna come down to your own playing, head tension, and stuffing to make it work for you
weird, he inherited Shannon's kit? Wonder why.
I figure he either bought it from Shannon or it was the band's kit to begin with. I think most touring drummers have two kits, one at home and one with the band.

@@AlanCassidy like everybody else all I can listen to is black dahlia since, ugh. You drummed for Abigail Williams for a minute didn't you?
Why fix something that isn't broken
The fact that the kit is 15 years old is amazing in of itself. Amazing sound
Take care of it (mostly) and it’ll take care of you!
TAMA make quality gear, my kit is 30 years old and it still sounds great.

Dude, that High on Fire shirt seriously made me crack the fuck up! Not only is it a great band, but the shirt is self explanatory. Hell yeah man! 🤘😂🤘
Extra points in awesomeness for the Richard Pryor shirt

Hey, thanks for your Clone Hero charts man!
@@ehunz Hey thanks for playing them!
That Tama kit is so awesome.
One of these day's I'd love to own a starclassic maple
What an absolute UNIT of a kit! Blast Fiends UNITE!!!
It’s great to see drum rigs. We been watching guitar run downs for years. I would rather see drums. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hope all you guys are doing ok. 😞

The best Drummer!!!!
Awesome video, I was hoping to hear his pedal setup. I've wondered if he has a high spring tension on his pedals like most death metal drummers.
All stock settings
His new Tama SC maple kit is out of this world !!

Rip to Trevor n my condolences to tbdm I'm s fellow Michigander I live in the up north of the Mackinac bridge thanks for the sick music
that's awesome you're using the kit that shannon was rocking. and that ride cymbal is so great.

He gifted it to the band when he left
I too am rocking an older tama, 97 rockstar from my high school days. Still in amazing condition 🤘
I own a metal x china and it does sound killer!
Bro, You almost look like "Thor" wearing a High on Fire shirt. !
Such a nice guy ❤
Gran abrazo para toda la familia de tbdm! Rip Trevor
Want to finally get my kick triggered, seems like the Roland TM2 is the best module for the price...
Alan Cole BAY BAY!
Interesting to see the moongel on that mini china. I've only tried them on hats and rides
It’s just blue tape
Ahh ok, makes more sense
Fucking great drummer.
Wow, I didn't know that Gary Oldman was playing drums with TBDM
the Roland kick trigger system is fucking awesome. plug and play. I used to struggle with the Alesis DM4 with the Ddrum Red trigger and it SUCKED!
You pronounce the A in dahlia super hard lol. Murica! 😄
Midwest horrid accent
Please do a drum playthrough of Asylum from abysmal
How to use the Roland SP-404 as a sequencer?
I still think you should've won the Vans Warped Tour drumoff...
Sick! 🤘
Pedals? Did I just miss him talking about them ?
snare so thicc it clears your sinus lmao
Awesome dude, I’ve got a Starclassic B/B as well, sick drums. Lot of history on that kit. You still playing the Demon Drive pedals?
Whoops didn’t read the description. Asked and answered
love you guys! is there a new album coming this year?
Nope

when to indonesia i'm waiting
I'm a guitarist but I wanna start drumming - do you use triggers for your bass drums?
Absolutely Love me some Bubinga! Mmmm!!!!

Anyone know if this kit was used on any albums? Love to know the snares used on verminous and nightbringers albums
Every album I’ve been on had this kit and the last two were the bubinga snare
New Slugdge album in 2022?
Nopw
What are your settings for threshold/sensitivity on the kick trigger? i have the same set up but have some issues with double hits sometimes.
I can give you the settings when I turn it on next but it’s really gonna come down to your own playing, head tension, and stuffing to make it work for you
Actually go to my drummer fb page and I have it in my picture albums all the settings I have
@@AlanCassidy fair points, thanks for the reply man- you're a legend! 🤘
What about the pedals?
Read the info
Like…. Why does he look like pickles from Metalocalypse? 😂
Bro I still have way more hair
Bubinga I like saying bubinga.
No love for his pedals unfortunately
Pearl demon drives. Didn’t wanna step on Tama’s toes.
Holy shit, 15 year old eq4? My ass will break an emad in a month wtf
...amazing what some technique and triggers will do...
Play with felt beaters/triggers and a bass drum patch. You can dent the head but you’ll never go through with those patches
@@AlanCassidy holy shit dude! Thanks for the reply! I'm the guy that always missed your show because of my epilepsy cheers from pensacola mate!
People still listen to this band???????
What are you listening to, oh master of who gives a fuck?
...200,000 monthly Spotify listeners alone...
Why wouldn't they?
Why did you even take the time to view this video and comment?
Obviously. 🙄
love seeing these drum videos and the play through vids. drummers should have a cam live during concerts so we can really see you guys too
Duuuuude been waiting for this one 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Awesome video
come on wtf. why would i want to hear death metal played quietly as someone is talking?!
Very cool video, thanks for revealing your set...
No pedals or hardware...lame
