100% agree with the side pouch. Just make em here at home in the 🇺🇸 cmon shell back, I run the 1165 multi curve with trauma. Never thought about slipping a soft armor pad in the kangaroo pouch thank you my man 🤙🏽 God bless
Nice review! Would you choose this over the K19 or Mayflower APC? These are the three I am looking at, but I'm a slimmer guy so want something that will actually be snug and not loose.
I have not gotten my hands on a Mayflower yet. I would consider the banshee my primary over my k19. I'm 6ft and about 185lbs if that helps ya at all. The banshee has a little more flexibility with the fact that you can pull the cummer bun and just use the buckles under to make it more minimalist. The cummerbund gives much more in the way of attachment points than the K19 cummerbund.
@@Gruntreviews when you say pull the cummerbund what do you mean? i have the side plates and it is really tight and i have the nylon string that holds both sides together as loose as i can get it and the knot stay tied and with the side plates it’s still really tight. For reference i have the level 4 front and rear plates with the level 4 side plates. my side plates are installed on the inside of the cummerbund because the dealer i bought it from said that’s the way it goes. any ideas on how to make it a bit looser? i’m 5 foot 9 about 180 lbs
@wcsdiaries this is my go to. You lose a hair of shoulder pocket space, but nothing that has any major effect. It's always a tradeoff of comfort vs material.
Sold me... bought mine today. Got the limited edition black multicam and their hard armor level 4 plates 4s17. Haven't heard anything bad bout their armor and the had a deal on the plates.. 180 and were 260 a plate
They have soft armor that slides into the cummerbund. There are also plate bags that can be added. Cummerbund has enough stretch to accommodate with relative comfort.
what specifically would you mount to the front buckles? the fact that they are permanently affixed bothers me. ive never even seen anything common that would attach there? please advise
I have the Rampage 2.0 that has the velcro on the flap itself, which makes it great because I switch between a placard for the range and one for my hobby, Airsoft. I kind of wish they would update the Rampage series, because I want another in Black, and being able to change placards for different firearms or for Larping
I suppose anything is possible with a sewing machine. I've never had my hands on anything from Ferris concepts, so I couldn't tell you if it would work.
@itsskryan0ne857 the QD mount on the front is sewn on. Would have to be cut off. The back panel does not lift up. It does have a pass through for the elastic of the stock cummerbund.
What placards have the male quick release for this carrier or where can you get the male ends to add to a molle placard? I was considering this or the condor vanquish but don’t like the proprietary buckles on the condor but like their recon panel, want something I could take off if just needed a carrier
Check out mayflower gen IV it has a lot of features with it and a kangaroo pouch which could let you run a total of 7 30 rn ar mags if you set it up right
@@Gruntreviews very true. But I just know how much of a hassle buddy dragging is. This looks like a great solution to make it so much easier. And you could easily get 2 guys on it with that length for a quicker drag
btw, I was reviewing comments for the banshee 3.0 on the shellback's online store and found this comment: "the weight of my ifak causes that side shoulder strap to loosen easily with any movement. the shoulder straps do not retain tension under any load at all and i dont even have my plates in. simply sitting on my hanger will cause the straps to come loose within the matter of minutes. i would recommend taping the strap to itself to prevent it from slipping loose. this however is my only compliant and im sure i will find a work around." can you somehow comment that? Have you experienced something similar? I wonder is it really possible for those straps to be loosen by itself?! Or maybe he haven't fixated the properly...
The k19 is a bit more minimalist. Setup for a lighter load/less accessories. The shellback has the mag carriers built in to the cummerbund and can also support soft armor sides.
@@Gruntreviews I’m a disabled Afghanistan combat vet, and a Union Boilermaker. So I do not buy ANYTHING made in China. For them to even consider having the side plate covers made in CHINA, was enough for me.

I try to keep it somewhat family friendly, but sometimes things have to be said in plain terms.
I think you've just helped me make my selection thank you

Would there be any other carriers you'd recommend more than the banshee?
For all around use, the Banshee works well. If you want to go more minimalist, I like the Agilite K19.

Not a bad price at all.
Did you have to purchase the side plate carriers separately or did these come with the carrier?
They are separate

@@Gruntreviews ok so for hard side plates, you need to buy the side plate bags separately?

@@wcsdiaries yeah, side plate bags are a separate purchase. 350 sounds about right, might wait for a sake if ya can.

Rma 1192s
what specifically would you mount to the front buckles? the fact that they are permanently affixed bothers me. ive never even seen anything common that would attach there? please advise
They are removable, they just slide into the molle. You could attach a variety of placards, juat depends on how you like to have your kit setup.
Dumb question but can you use the soft body armor inserts like people use for backpacks instead of using that heavy plate?
You can, it just leaves a bunch of room in the plate bag. A lot of folks run a plate and a soft armor backer.

6ft, 32in inseam, bout 195-200lbs at time of filming.

I suppose anything is possible with a sewing machine. I've never had my hands on anything from Ferris concepts, so I couldn't tell you if it would work.

@Gruntreviews I am 5’9’’ 172lbs what size will fit better?

How do the shoulder straps work? I'm worries about getting one that will be too loose
Pull to tighten, unbuckle and tilt the male end to loosen. Nothing fancy.

Are the QASM buckles that are on the front removable?
Cummerbund buckles, no. Placard buckles yes.

Hey bro would regular military plates we are issued fit these?
Should fit medium and large (if I remember correctly). Not sure the XL would go. I have not tried it myself with the ESAPIs

Nope. Slide it out, adjust tension, slide back in.
