Watching these videos is an education, I have been riding motorcycles for many many year and never ridden on a track. and never adjusted any of my suspensions. but watching these videos makes me want to try some track riding. and maybe eventually adjusting my suspension. I recently got a 2017 Ducati 939 Supersport with Perrelli Diablo Rosso 4 tires. and I was wondering what the average amount of time they would last riding on a track ?
Thank you for your kind words. Track riding is fun for sure and the progress you make in skills is far faster than you expect. You will see for the Supersport forum that I have helped riders all over the world with set up and note that track will require suspension settings that match your ability. The PDR4's should last you 4-5 track days if you ride at the same facility. We try to ride different track to balance right vs left wear.
My bike always feels like once it leans to a certain point it gets super stiff and feels like it's gonna slide out on me. Idk could be my nerves(been downbefore) but could be the bike is tryingto slide out
If you feel the bike stops you leaning further over and geometry/suspension are set correctly, it is normally body position in regards to forearm not being lined up with the inside clip on. Check out the pictures here: davemosstuning.com/about-dave-moss/dave-moss-race-reports-2018/
It can be as low as $60 for the suspension tuning through to a full day of work between suspension, geometry, hot pit tuning and rider coaching. I can also use Skype for consulting at $100 per hour
I have spent many sessions with riders at Road America and Blackhawk for suspension schools, mostly via STT. There are no events at either of those tracks in place for this year. Happy to fly out if there are 10 people that would like to do a suspension school at $350 per person.
I would be happy to do so and many have asked in several South American Countries. How many riders do you have who are interested? Are they expecting help for free? This is my business so I can put a budget together for you.
We have track days 1 or 2 per month, around 15 to 20 amateur racers probably 10 to 15 pros. Plus they are a few city's where your service is need it because no one here does it. I have a big network of friends that need your service. Total of maybe 200 or plus bikes.i know it's your job, were are not expecting to get the work done for free.
We practice and race from April to dic it's pretty spread out but usually it's a weekend with a 2 day practice and race day on sunday. Let me find out when the next 3 day race weekend is going to take place, I will let you know.
My first track day is september 24 and I'm slowly getting ready ! thank you dave for making these videos
Thank you for taking the time to invest in yourself and be prepared. You'll have a much better first day than most as a result.
Some production classes require treaded tires and other classes require slicks. Our club has now moved to slicks for all classes.
