After spitting up my coffee on that 350k tacoma, I didn't even blink at 52k. Still not a luxury item I would splurge on. Cheap used travel trailers for the win.
A nice build from a small shop. I can see the $52K due to the limited numbers for building this one of kind outer shell that doesn't use the usual off the shelf RV materials - and - more importantly, provided they are paying living wages for the Denver area. The accessories are all off the shelf RV stuff for which a small shop will pay more per unit. It is not in my price range, but I am happy that someone is building it and kudos to anyone who can afford for buying one.
Agreed. Now more than ever before since outdoor rec has become a fad with modern day hipsters with money. Not to mention skyrocketing inflation and debt. It's all going to implode soon.
I'll definitely look at this model when I get around to buying a camper. I love that they solved the condensation problem that so many popup campers have by putting a breathable layer on both sides of insulation layer. It cost more, but it eliminates a major headache. I don't want to buy a HD truck so I'm only looking at campers under 1500 pounds wet. Only popups stay under that, but that's the configuration I want anyway. Unfortunately, light weight popup campers tend to be some of the most expensive on the market, starting around $40k decently equipped, so $52k for this with everything included isn't the worst I've seen, especially considering the build quality and features.
$ 52,000 is crazy... My husband and I built our own, for a fraction of that, with everything from heat, a place to cook, sleep, music etc, great power, solar etc.. We are waiting for an AC unit that has been ordered... This price is insane.... My truck cost that much!
@@jamesbeaman6337 Actually lol selling our creations is sort of the plan!... My husband was an engineer for the government and Lockheed Martin.. We went to the supertramp manufacturer and looked at this one. Very nice and well built, but we ended up buying the OEV Camp X, it's built like an absolute tank!
Oh no! You ignored the dog. I'd like to see this set up for the Lightning. I bet you can dump a lot from the camper if power is coming from the F150. Go with induction cook top.
very nice, very good quality. but having a hard time with the pop camper costing more than the truck if i look at the labor hours and parts to make each.
He does not seem into selling/showing this off, maybe should have passed it over to someone who was a bit more into showing off a $50,000+ truck camper.
Does that include the truck? I’m really confused, no shower no toilet no running water well may be running water for the sink. I bought a grand design 23BHE trailer but you can live in for 26,000 Honestly double that price does not make sense
Looks like a great accessory for an F150! Maybe some day... I don't know what the background noise is, some music maybe? It does not go well with the other noises around atm.
I have a question about a Ford F-150 Platinum Power Boost and I'm thinking about adding the max payload package and the max trailer tow package to it if I decide to purchase it? I'm considering a camper very similar to this one if not this exact one. I have looked at my Supertramp campers up close and personal and that through them and although the price is high the quality and craftsmanship is extremely worth it compared to cheaper models! That said, I know this truck only has about 1,339 lb of payload capacity without adding those packages and I'm guessing adding those packages will push it well up over 2,000 pounds? Do you think keeping a camper like this on it and doing considerable distance traveling, will these two packages be sufficient or do I need to step up to a 250 size truck? Am I just going to be burning out axle bearings all the time or do they upgrade those as well with the package? I may also pull a small 14 ft boat with a 70 horse motor on the back to go salmon fishing and stay there camping but not more than a couple hours of driving doing that. I'm more concerned about the long distance up into Alaska or down to Baja from Washington State? Would really love to hear suggestions regarding trucks including older model truck suggestions if this is a bad idea! Love all your shows and I am always watching!
The webpage shows pics of it fitting trucks of different cab configurations, including a super crew, so a fancy techbro could put it in a Lightning and save some of the electric wiring
Yea, just checked the website and the price has gone up since this video. I'm sure these are high quality campers but I can't justify paying more for a camper than I did for my truck.i could buy 2 overland trailers for the same price. Bel Air Shells in California makes a decent camper for way less.
sorry, i would think a toilet goes with the statement "everything you need", at least its got a shower option. I would consider if they at least had a cassette option too.
Cool rig, but ouch on the MPG and price. Must be heavier than it looks, probably why they hide the weight on their website and don't include any stats. I like the insulated tent wall design instead of using a separate liner, but am mixed about the noisy powered roof, I guess good for people with mobility issues.
I was on the website and totally disappointed there were no dimensions or weight on there. If it’s 1500 lbs it eliminates soo many 1/2 tons. Beefing up a suspension is not appropriate to haul heavier and there are areas wher it’s illegal. Not where I live unfortunately so you see seriously lifted 1/2 tons with full size hard body campers coming at you doing 20 mph OVER the speed limit and just hope they don’t kill anyone else when they crash. If your in town you hope they stop before they rear end you!! I digress. Sorry. 😂
This is great. I didn't even know there was such a thing. A few questions: I wonder, can this be purchased for the 5.5 bed of say a 2023 Ford F150 Raptor or Platinum? And that side to side bed inside, was is it's length? Can a 6'2"+ tall guy lay full length side to side on that bed, without having to bend knees? And a comment/suggestion: They should mold some aerodynamic angle to the front of this camper above the cab to help with gas mileage, for right now that just looks squared off so likely hurts mpg, though maybe just a little, I don't know.
Not the best review considering there's so much more to this camper after seeing it at the overland expo. I agree it is pricey but when you put more hands on and dig deeper and the fact that they're not a big production camper it is very impressive. They have already made a lot of other upgrades as well including how it connects to the truck. You should go to the company and do a better review! You missed on so many items that were worth showing! Just saying because I love your reviews normally!
The other thing that always gets me is how they are all the same. Bought a set of those lifts for my boat engine hatch 100 bucks for both. Used campers are the way to go.
Everyone says it’s expensive but I guarantee 99.999% can’t build one with the same fit and finish, components for less. It’s a low volume hand made in USA product not Ford pumping out hundreds of thousands of F150s on an assembly line with robots
What, very nice, But I could buy a brand new F150 for less than that camper. XL, XL Pro Lighting. maybe I could get it with a hand crank roof lift instead of the motor, probably save ,20klol.
Too bad it's not the hybrid truck, that one is built for camping with the power center and generator mode. If it had A/C it would be a match made in heaven with the hybrid.
that is one of the stupidest ways to throw away 52k. think, how many times you will actually use it. 52k is a lot of money for a regular person that are the ones that actually camp.

Nice looking unit. Well put together. I’m glad I was sitting down when the price came up. 😮
I want one for wrangler unlimited.

It would be much more practical
This thing is WILDLY overpriced.
I remember Super tramp the band...never thought I'd see the name on a camper.
My thoughts exactly. Kind of appropriate actually. You could be playing “Take the long way home” while taking the long way home🤔
And with a $52K price tag it's the "Crime of the Century" - lol.
I miss the days when pickup pop up campers would be on craigslist for a few thousand dollars.
“Those days” were well before the days of Craigslist. LOL
