Drakkar Intense has the potential to slowly become a cult classic in his own right. iLove it!

Drakkar Intense lasts a long time. It triggered my memory to recall the days when the barber was about done just dusting my neck with Pinaud talc and taking off the bib It's very complex and goes through stages of very natural notes. Powdery, spicy and musky.

I just bought this and it should arrive in a few days. I was a teen in the 1980s…turned 20 in 1988, and Drakkar Noir was everywhere. It was the Aqua Di Giorgio of its time. I didn’t love it then and it was pretty generic. BUT, because most modern fragrances (to my nose) smell so similar, I have a fond memory of this now. I think I have at least 100 or so fragrances, and don’t have Deakkar Noir in my collection, so I thought I’d try the Intense. Great review. And…I LOVE your shawl cardigan- it’s beautiful and looks like cashmere.

Today Drakkar Noir is only 1/3 of what it was back in his peak. if you can find the old formula, go for it.

Thanks for the precise description and your opinion.
I had such high expectations about this fragrance, but yours and other equally reliable fragrance enthusiast's opinions made me understand Drakkar Intense is not blind buy worthy. I need to try it before buying, but it is not yet available in Italian shops.
I have both Drakkar (the first; which is a very good citrus aromatic fougere) and Drakkar Noir (all versions), and I am perfectly satisfied with them.
Anyway, I will give Intense a try.
I love your style: you're such a gentleman!
And beautiful environment, by the way.

Very clear scent description and explanation about Drakkar Intense. Now what I know prevents me from purchasing this product that I would otherwise regret. Thank you for this clarity! 👋😀👍

I just bought a 6.7oz bottle and immediately remembered first smelling this in 1989 as a kid. I didn't know what it was all these years. I'm probably going to pick up the Drakkar Intense since the Noir is wonderful and classic.

Hello Ash. Back in the 80s I used to wear Woods by Abercrombie & Fitch. This was back when they were still the gentleman store with button down Oxford shirts chinos trousers and just after they had giving up fishing poles in firearms. I really love the fragrance but after they changed and went to torn jeans for children they no longer carried it. I have been told that Drakkar Noir is very similar. I'm very much looking forward to buying some I'm trying it out. By the way the orange tie with the blue shawl sweater is a very sharp look. Thanks for your video. Cheers Ron

I like Drakkar Intense a lot. Smells great, and its performance great too.
I hope they give Drakkar Noir, the intense treatment. It really needs it. Latest batch performance is hopeless.

Great review as usual, but there is a cheaper alternative to DRAKKAR NOIR. It's called Dakar Perfume Oil - 6ml by Al Rehab it only costs £2.30 it lasts longer than the original and you can get it from Amazon. I know you like authentic products but I bet you can't tell the differences. I have both.

I remember the name from the 80s , 🤔 il give it a go sounds good 👍🏻. Do you use a Swiss Army knife? Perhaps you could do a show on the perfect innocuous gentleman’s pocket knife. Also sunglasses 😎 what type make etc , polarised or standard? What each typ should be used for , how bright the sun 🌞 is etc , I’ve got no idea when it comes to what sunglasses to wear and when , how dark should they be , which safety rules should be adhered to ? I would love some advice in this matter, I think a lot of guys would. Love your stuff , thanks 😊

Ash has shown a Victorinox Pioneer Solo, which is basically a Swiss Army knife with only one tool, namely the knife. Hence the name Solo. I have one too and it’s great. It’s UK legal (if that’s an issue for you) and no one bats an eye when you draw the knife in public. I also have another suggestion for you, the Victorinox Bantam Alox. It is a little bit smaller, but very thin and light and it also has a bottle opener / flat head screwdriver combo. This is my favorite. Hope this helps you out. I’ll leave glasses for someone else to reply. I wear (and swear by) a Ray Ban New Wayfarer, however I’m also checking out a Ray Ban Clubmaster every now and then. That one is a bit classier. Cheers!

Good review👌 but I would like to add this i guess this scent was released for the 50th anniversary of the original Drakkar! It's not drakkar Noir intense! Original drakkar was released in 1972 & in 2022 they released drakkar intense😉 I wore drakkar Original & I know that DNA is included in drakkar intense as well! Cheerio mate🥂

Always enjoy your fragrance reviews and this one is great - thank you.
After watching some of your other content I bought a bottle of Drakkar Noir as I used to wear it back in the 90s - not as strong as I recall, but still unique!.
So Drakkar Intense is of interest to me - how would you say it compared to other fougère fragrances which I have (again after watching your content) such as Dunhill Icon Elite or Kouros?

    • @TheChapsGuide
      @TheChapsGuide  2 роки тому +1

It is a good cheap fragrance, not in the same league as Dunhill Icon or Kouros, but significantly cheaper, so only to be expected. I think it is a good, musky and solid performer for the price. Very much in the vein of its older brother (Noir) and worth a try if you like Noir.

Love the fragrance reviews 👍 would be interested in your review of "Mackie for men", also a fougere and not expensive, straight out of the 90s.

Drakkar is actually a Loreal fragrance. They have also owned the Guy Laroche company for decades. For those that do not know, very few of these companies make their own fragrances. They have deals with other companies to create and manufacture fragrances for them. Loreal was who made the Laroche fragrances, and then bought the company. Everything about Drakkar and all flankers are from Loreal. They had all of them created, and manufactured all of the fragrances. Most people haver no clue Loreal owns Guy Laroche, but they also own companies like YSL and Valentino. Loreal and Coty make most fragrances for most companies, and people have no clue. Coty is the biggest by far company that makes fragrances, and Loreal is the biggest cosmetics company in the world, but are second behind Coty in terms of making fragrances. Coty makes fragrances for everybody, Davidoff, Nauutica, Burberry,, and like 100 other companies.

Once again a great review, but forgive me for asking but during the content I couldn't help but notice the strange sculpture type item to the right of the tree behind you! Of course I was enjoying your description and detailed analysis but I couldn't work out what it is? Could you enlighten me? That aside I've watched a few reviews of this and this was the only one that actually had a decent opinion rather than idle fragrance banter like so many others so thanks for that

It is a cast iron cherub statue, one of four in fact, that were situated in this woodland when I purchased it over 12-years ago. A little creepy, but they have charm!

How interesting, thanks for the reply, I wonder what the previous owners intentions were, very interesting, also I just purchased one of mandate's stablemates at my local pharmacy, rapport, very nice, similar to mandate but a bit fresher, give it a try it was5 pounds! The black version is good too apparently. Best regards.
