ZF is not the first to think about this good solution. But there's still the wall of the regulations. A trailer isn't a motor vehicle. This simple EU defintion can blocked this solution. I hope ZF has good lobbyists to defend the project at the EU comission.
A battery inside a work trailer is something I've been thinking about for years now, ever since I started working construction. Just imagine how much easier it is to have batteries on your trailer instead of your work truck. The idea would be to use the trailers battery before using the trucks battery therefore prolonging the life of the trucks battery. The trailer batteries would be far easier to replace then the truck.

So basically, it will turn diesel trucks into hybrid trucks. And also can be used as a range extender for electric trucks. Hmmmmmm........ Promising
