  • Law of conversion of energy states that “Energy can neither be created nor destroyed but can only be converted from one form to another”. This law is the very basis behind the working of regenerative working. In this video, we will be discussing the basic working behind the regenerative braking.

    Can Regenerative braking bring the vehicle speed down to zero? At zero speed, there will be no induced emf, therefore no braking! Would not the one pedal vehicle be dangerous? As it will not be able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
    Thank you for your good presentation.

    Sir i am confused a little bit here you said that suffcient amount of braking torque cannot be implented on the machine during high speeds but the regenerative braking principle says that there should be a minimum threshold value to attain the sufficient amount of torque which means a speed range of 15km/h cannot deliver as per condition

    May I know what is the maximum and minimum speed limit at which regenerative braking can be applied to generate reasonable amount of power?
    In case of an electric train, if supply frequency is to be lowered to maximize regeneration, then what is the limit of minimum frequency?

    Worry of regenerative breaking is that battery can't absorb the sudden energy jolt from surge of power quickly enough for optimal intake...That's where you wonder if the energy surge should be used in friction engine, to make some hydrogen onboard the vehicle, and use that hydrogen fuel to charge a battery slower, so that it uses more of the power surge...but then again, a friction engine shouldn't be that hard to improvise using hydraulics and feeding battery cells directly anyway...options exist...."Multiple Supercapacitor" designs, passing charge back and forth with modest battery involved, could eliminate hydrogen option within five years even if batteries don't progress significantly...but likely BOTH will, while regenerative breaking should remain huge help regardless, especially since it's already in many ev's.

    • @datnwin
      @datnwin Рік тому

      The amount of charge or energy it gives back is very small… unless you live in downtown NYC where you have to stop every 100 yards

    • @sampleoffers1978
      @sampleoffers1978 Рік тому

      @@datnwin It should make mechanical energy like a fly wheel, allowing for trickle charge, like wind up toy but possibly aided by inertia and wind drag under car...I'm starting to think transformer components would allow trickle charge even without friction breaking but it's still nice feature. Doesn't make sense a charging station is going to throw in a massive charge due to cobalt in ten minutes, that can't be broken up and duplicated in trickle charging over a thirty minute and longer drive. There's several options to recover the mechanical energy toward trickle charging...Mostly due to magnets and copper coils...Possibly lot of coils really help but compact...then there's thermal panels and small tanks to swap condensed air just for cold temp. Seems like limitless ways to recover the mechanical electrostatic energy during twenty minute drive. The heat of friction breaking would take at least five minutes to dissipate even from one deacceleration though, especially if pressurized. It's just about utilizing heat. Regenerative breaking could probably be more optimized as well since they are different. Musk wants charging stations to gain real state partners. The engineering to self charge is real for the life of the battery cycle.

      That's not possible...if you want generation from rear wheels you need to add two alternator there. Increasing weight, Increasing cost (2 alternator costs huge), Increasing complexity in vehicle designing, requiring another power converter circuit to convert and transfer energy into battery, increasing resistance to move rear wheels as we attached alternator to it.
      You can imagine now how price and complexity is going to shoot up.
