@@valueriei feel the same. Its mixed different. In the Original its hard to tell all the elements apart while in this Cover each Instrument has its own place in the mix. Not sure which one i prefer since the original feels more chiptune ish while this one is very digital sounding. Both are amazing versions
@@Apticx lmao chiptune isn't digital bro? XD I think you wanted to say this feels like an more "updated" version, or simply a faithful recreation, a good cover. Different Synths = Different vibes.
If i can load generic samples into this and create delicious waveforms I'll probably switch over from milkytracker moving forward. Great tune and really interesting piece of software!
This tracker looks so good just in its visualization and sounds super nice and clean. Really hope we get to try it sometime. Certainly looks amazing. Also obviously great job on the cover.
Looks cool! Will deffo get it when the Mac version launches. It looks awesome just one question, can you change the size of the steps / tics ala Octamed 4? That would be insantly cool as it gives you a zoomed in look at what you are doing per step. I do like the fact that you avoided Hexadecimal, drives a lot of us nuts, so huge thumbs up there.
Incredible work! I am very interested to know how you performed his solos since that's something I'm working on myself. I find FOD's music tricky to perform live because it has all these fast runs only a chip could pull off, and he adds a lot of expressiveness through glisses and articulations. (And especially in his NES music, he tends to switch quickly between different "instruments" even in the same melody line.) So I'd really like to know you handled it!
It certainly wasn't easy! The performance was me on lead synth and a pianist playing live while the tracker was running on a projector screen behind us. I actually transposed the synth up one semitone so I'd be playing in E, just to make some of the runs easier on my fingers. Even then, there were some more arp-heavy parts I decided to let the tracker play to showcase it's sound, like the second solo at 2:52. By far the hardest part I had to play was the solo right before at 2:34. There are a lot of very fast runs in there but as long as you start practicing at a really slow tempo, and then slowly increase the tempo, making sure you stay accurate, it's 100% doable.
Super impressive! With the original sounding like it was made for a pretty old console, it almost gives me the idea that if the og was for an actual game and they remastered it on something with a slightly more advanced sound system, this is exactly what it would sound like.
Yes! I plan on releasing at some point in the near future. I am quite busy right now so it’s slow going but I definitely want to have it available for anybody to use.
@@squiggythings If you made it open source I'd give you $10,000,000 if I had that kind of money-we need more trackers that aren't just OpenMPT or based off Amiga software.
0:25 the pitch bends in this part sound so good
Hell yeah it does 🤨
That visualizer set is PERFECT 🥹
I allways dreamed with volume cc visuals too. And maann, is your own software?? I will download it for sure
Very faithful to the original while sounding a little more clean. Very nice! Looking forward to seeing more of what this tracker can do.
im curious what you mean by "more clean." this is a fantastic cover though

@@gyrotzdigital might have been the wrong word since i call chiptune hardware but thats also because i always use original hardware for playback.
@@Apticx How do you differ real chiptune from software emulated one? Is it even possible by ear? (I'm not fighting here, I find this really cool :)

Hearing this in stereo feels like heaven
sounds like somthing you would hear in a toby fox game
