The best worst trash talk story is Matt Hasselback during the 2004 Wild Card game against the Packers. "We want the ball and we're gonna win!" The proceeds to throw a walk off pick 6.

I absolutely enjoyed the hell out of that moment. It wasn't even what Hasselbeck said (although that was lame enough) but the absurdly smug way he said it.

The stupidest trash talk in Washington history should go to their original owner in the lead up to the 1940(41?) NFL championship game. He called the Bears crybabies and quitters. Final score
    Chicago-73
    Washington-0
That's not just putting your foot in your mouth, that's swallowing your leg up to the knee.

Thanks for posting this. I was coming to type the same thing lol. If you end up getting beaten 73-0, it doesn't matter if all you said was that George Halas' car has an unflattering hue of off-white on its paint job. By default, the degree of that beatdown makes it the stupidest trash talk and, for those of us familiar with that story, we all know that George Marshall was a bit more douchey than that lol.

That’s what makes this story entertaining. Someone who probably grew up rooting for the Packers talks smack about them. It’s ridiculous.

If that’s what you think, then you obviously don’t know much about Coach Lombardi….
Btw, the Redskins weren’t in any better shape than the Packers were ‘69.
The Packers NEVER should’ve hired bengston as head coach. Didn’t know jack about offense and was only a mediocre defensive coach at best

@@joachimguderian4048 The situations were completely different. Lombardi rebuilding the *Redskins* would've made him look a whole lot better than hanging on in Green Bay while the Packers collapsed. And he was well on his way to doing it too before he died.

1968! NOT a press conference. They did not do that in those days. Setting matters. Sounds like a conversation likely in a locker room or bar setting, between two people. Dumb, yes, and total clipping material, sure-- but Not an announcement or statement to roomful of media.

Interestingly, the other TE was the greatest receiver nobody knows. Had Jerry Smith been born three decades later he'd been a slot receiver, but instead he ended his career with the most TDs by a TE. He only played 14 game seasons his whole career.

Had Jerry Smith been born three decades later he'd be another Kaepernick, a far left paragon of LGBT virtue who'd be shoved down everyone's throats. I hate that he had to suffer and hide his homosexuality, but he wasn't treated any worse than non-vaxxed people are today and I'm still glad he played then and not now.

If I remember right, Freddie “The Hammer” Williamson made some wild predictions while trashing the Packers before Super Bowl 1. His quotes were then used as emotional fuel by Green Bay leading up to the game and the Pack came out firing on all cylinders. I think Lombardi posted his quotes in the Packer locker room to fire up his team. I believe it was in Tex Maule’s post game article in SI.

    • @DolFan316
      @DolFan316 3 роки тому +2

Williamson was a cheap shot artist who bragged about knocking players out. The irony is that during that Super Bowl HE was the one knocked out, literally. And the real ironic part is that Donny Anderson didn't even do it on purpose, he just happened to catch Williamson with a knee to the helmet by accident.

It's yet another example of how all the far left knows how to do is tear down, eliminate and destroy. They have no clue as to how to actually "build back better" nor do they even want to. In their eyes they succeeded by getting rid of the original name and that's all they care about.

You need to learn to ignore the people who keep speaking for large groups of complete strangers telling them (the group) they're offended and that's that, and it doesn't matter what anyone in the group actually thinks. And the reason I put native Americans in quotes is because it's an example of far left stupidity.
