    A useful video thanks for producing it.
    I havent got my lock yet as im waiting to move into my new home in October, so just preparing myself fpr whats involved and what to expect ahead of time.
    It looks to be a simple install.
    What is the construction materials of the lock and handle, is it metal or plastic and how robust is it?

      The handle is metal and really solid and the Nuki itself is plastic but also pretty robust. I'm currently working on a review of the LOQED Touch too which could also be an option for you to look into as well - amzn.to/3sf7sOz

    Can it open UPVC doors like yours where you need a key from the outside?
    I can't figure out from their docs whether it could be completely keyless or if it just locks/unlocks with the lifted handle and I'd still need a key to open the door

      Hey, yes it can, from the outside it can drop the last latch a little bit so you don’t need a key at all. The nice thing is that from the outside you can still use a key
      My full review is coming out this week and talks more about that 😀

    Great video thanks. I just don't understand what the difference is between the ultion and the regular noki. For lift to lock doors like mine, we're still required to lift, so what is the advantage of this system vs the lock alone (or a Switch Bot Lock for instance)? I understand a new cylinder is provided with the ultion but that means a new set of keys too. Isn't it possible that my current cylinder is compatible with the regular nuki even though it's a lift to lock system?

    • @MarksTechVlogs
      @MarksTechVlogs  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks, your current cylinder is only compatible with the Nuki if it can be unlocked from the outside still when a key is on the inside. If this is the case you could just buy the Nuki.
      The Switchbot lock is a trickier question to answer, if your door cannot be opened from the outside even when unlocked without an extra turn of a key to release a catch then the Switchbot isn’t compatible
      The main difference between the Ultion and Ultion Nuki is that the Ultion Nuki bundles a handle which is designed to easily fit the Nuki, the Ultion cylinder and the Nuki…the actual Nuki is the same product you can also buy separately
      Hope that helps

    Presumably you have to change the cylinder lock to a thumb turn one in order to use the key from the outside as a fail safe in case the batteries go dead.

    • @MarksTechVlogs
      @MarksTechVlogs  8 місяців тому

      The Ultion Nuki package comes with its own replacement cylinder so everything you need is in the package…it’s not quite a thumb turn one but does allow you to use a key from the outside

      On my front door the outside handle only operates the multi point parts, the hooks and the mortice. It is not connected to the latch at all so if the door closes behind you you can't get back in. The only way in is to turn the key to retract the latch, so do these battery powered smart locks have enough turning force to retract the latch or are they just designed to move the mortice from side to side? Thanks

      @MarksTechVlogs  8 місяців тому

      @@virtious8 that's exactly how my door operates and the Nuki can do that last little turn as well...this all gets setup when you install the lock and the Nuki has a bonus 'open' function which does just the latch. Hope that helps

    What if my inside handle is facing the opposite orientation to the right?

    • @MarksTechVlogs
      @MarksTechVlogs  Рік тому

      I’m fairly sure the handle arm can move so it works both ways and you pick the orientation during the Nuki setup

    Absolutely the most disgusting customer service ever. I'm disabled. I paid a locksmith to fit this But the outer part of my door lock wouldn't fit to this, even though they claim it will fit to anything. I didn't have enough money to get my old door lock put on. So I have now spent so far three days. With no front door lock so my carer can't get into my house. I say three days. Because I spoke to them two days ago and I was told it was going to be received yesterday. As in the power and the screws, nothing arrived because it was never ordered. I was then told. Someone will be calling me back yesterday, but no one ever did. Although I did get an alert saying that something was coming from DPD. Which it did. Today. So I then paid the locksmith to come back out and finish the job. Another call out charge. Which I couldn't afford. But had no choice. As the company even when I complained about this. Ignore that fact that it's there for an arm having to be out of pocket already. But guess what? I'm out of pocket again because they sent the wrong part and no screws to fix the front and back part of the lock together. The back part which fixes to the inside of your house is the one where the screws go through. They then screw into the outer part. To lock the whole lock securely, but the part that was sent to me to fix on the outside of my door also has holes in it. Said there is no way to fix it. It's now Saturday. No ones going to have access to my front door to get into my house now. Until minimum of Monday, Tuesday. Absolutely the most disgusting customer service ever. I would highly recommend. If you can afford it, getting something like the Avior lock, their customer service being part of or approved by Apple is far superior.
