People are just overhating bhramastra... It's a good movie.. Ya dialogue writers work wasn't that good. But the vfx is just awesome and the story is also nice. Ya it's not 100 percent perfect but it is still very good. Bollywood is now introducing movies like this and trying something new. So we all movie lovers should encourage it.
Finally 🎉. I am going to watch my 2nd movie in theatre. So i am going to watch 2nd masterpiece you know which one was first the legendary baghi😂 but hope so brahmaster will be good😊
3 things which could have made this movie better are:- 1) Less romance should be there in the movie because it was breaking the flow of the movie. 2) I am not saying the songs in the movie were bad. I just want to say that Kesariya song would be enough for the movie. 3) Better dialogue should be there especially for Ranbir and Alia Although their theme and vfx were 10/10

Just watched it. A solid 7/10. I reduced 3 points because of the love angle of this flims, sometimes it becomes bore, and sometimes it becomes unnecessary, but the film catch up quickly. The action, CGI, VFX, music is awesome. I hope they will further explore this universe in upcoming movie. For an introduction to Astraverse, I think it's a good movie.
Exactly I gave it also 7 stars on IMDB. I really liked this movie a mediocre love story based, but insignificant antagonist characters. VFX superb. SRK cameo superb, Ranbir acting top, Alia acting a little inexperienced. Disappointing thing that they didn't introduced loveastra, after all that Ranbir - Alia stuff. Overall movie is above average. This movie will be a hit but not sure as a blockbuster.
TBH I loved the movie but totally agree that Alia's character in particular was SOO badly written. Every time she spoke I was like chup karrrr. But the movie is an absolute visual treat. The grand scale, the production, world-class visuals and CGI, Ranbir, Shahrukh, Nagarjuna, Mouni etc make it a MUST WATCH.

As a first bollywood movie on this concept, I guess we should support it . Yes movie has some flaws . Maybe trimming down love story part by 10 20 mins could have helped. Director is not much experienced . But all in all , it's a good movie , you will definitely enjoy it and as badal said 2nd half keeps getting better as movie proceeds. Try to watch it in housefull theater coz of SRK. Cliffhangers are also good and they excite you for 2nd part . (I hope they make 2nd part )

Ayan is an inexperienced director it's his career's third movie which is on a big scale like this so you will see some flaws but it's an overall solid movie defined recommended 🙏🙂

The biggest example of this is that the earnings of Brahmastra film are false, that no one is discussing the story of Brahmastra film, nor is anyone being found saying, what can happen in the next part, Whenever there comes a film which is going to be made in part tomorrow, when the first part of that film ends, it leaves a suspense, then people discuss it, what will happen next, and People start telling the story of that film with their imagination that it can happen like this in future, The biggest example of which is Bahubali, KGF, Pushpa, and Avengers Infinity War, people had imagined even before the arrival of Avengers Endgame, that the time machine can be shown inside Avengers End Game, or in Bahubali movie. Yes, before the release of Part 2 of Bahubali, people had discussed this a lot, why did Katappa kill Bahubali, But did you hear any such question about Brahmastra from people's mouth, did you see people imagining about all the story, is anyone discussing the story of Brahmastra on social media, this only shows, Brahmastra The film was not seen by most of the people, and those who saw it also did not like this story,

Brahmastra- part 2 (DEV) fan theory:- Dev will find Shiva and Guruji as he is free now. He will confront them and then Amitabh and DEV will have talks regarding morality and ambitions . Then will come the flashback story... DEV was a anti hero type like Black Adam . He had a chaos under him. Amrita on the other hand was pure and calm like water. Dev mastered AgniAstra . His weapon was the TRISHUL. Then there comes love story of Dev and Amrita , the two opposite natured person will get attracted towards each other same like YE JAWANI HAI DEEWANI . like naina gets attracted to kabir, Amrita will fall in love with DEV and his inner chaos. Then there will be some attack on the Brahmansh and they will suffer some heavy casualty. Dev's best friend may get killed or heavily injured in that attack. Dev will try to persuade Brahmansh members to counter attack but major of the brahmansh members will pressurize to remain calm. They will blame Dev for his careless and rouge behaviour for this attack. This will make Dev angry and he will try to take revenge on the villains by himself but he alone will not be capable enough. So he will try to steal the weapons of other members. But during this process he gets confronted by another Brahmansh member and he gets exposed. The Brahmansh will now see Dev as a loose Canon and will throw him out of their secret society and also disrespect him because of his treason. Filled by grave hate and anger , Dev will now master his AGNIASTRA to its full potential and will kill the owners of KAVACH & MIND CONTROL one by one and will take their weapons. Then he will avenge his friend's death. After the battle with the villains , he will realize that he needs the absolute power of BRAHMASTRA so that he can protect people he loves and also he now feels that Brahmansh are way more tolerant than they should be . So now he decides to wake the BRAHMASTRA and become the BrahmaDev . So now he attacks the Brahmansh and nearly defeats all the warriors . He is now on the verge of waking up the BRAHMASTRA but he didn't know the after effect of it. Also in this battle , the guru of Brahmansh will get severely injured . Taking his last breath he will beg Amrita to stop Dev . So now binded by her loyalty to Brahmansh and due to her moral ground, pregnant Amrita will now come to stop Dev. Seeing Amrita , Dev will hesitate at first . But now due to this enormous power , he is corrupted and his inner chaos, darkness has taken over him. He fights Amrita and after a major battle , he starts to dominate her . Then she tells him that she is pregnant with his child. This will shatter Dev and will give Amrita the precious time she requires . Then with the help of Brahmansh guru's weapon and with her all power she attacks Dev who has lowered his guard, with a final powerful blow . But since he is too powerful , he is not defeated but is trapped and cursed that only BRAHMASTRA akawended can free him. During this battle , Amrita breaks the BRAHMASTRA into 3 pieces resembling HER , DEV & THEIR CHILD SHIVA. In That battle , When at last she attacked Dev with all of her power , her jalastra weapon may get trapped into DEV'S wound and the whole island gets submerged into sea. But using her fractions of power last left , she sends 2 BRAHMASTRA parts on that boat which we have seen in BRAHMASTRA part 1 with Amrita and Dev's name on it to Amitabh Bachchan and other Brahmansh and she rescues herself with her unborn child. Now since Amrita is separated from Dev and she thinks that she betrayed him , with a huge grief and broken heart , Amrita left the Brahmansh and make Shiva her life. She makes no contact with Brahmansh and lives a simple life. She converts the one part of BRAHMASTRA into SHANKH. Then after some years , Dev manages to mind control some persons who went under sea for exploration. Then he made them attack With his power on Amrita and take revenge. Since Amrita had lost her JALASTRA power so she gets defeated and gets burnt alive in that attack but Shiva doesn't as he also has power of AGNIASTRA. . Now coming to present day, Dev asks Shiva to come by his side as he is his son but Shiva tells him that since he killed his mother , he can't. Dev tells him that that was an unfortunate accident and he feels sorry for that. Then Dev also tries to polarize Shiva towards him by telling him his ambitious plan. But Shiva declines his offer . Then there is fight between both parties : Dev and Shiva. All Brahmansh warriors gather together As Dev is very much powerful. Alia uses the VAYU ASTRA. This epic battle takes a lot of casualties and Dev starts to dominate everyone because he has the power of AGNI, JAL , KAWACH AND MIND CONTROL. Amitabh realizes that they will get defeated and asks Alia to push Shiva to his full potential. Then father and son ; Dev and Shiva will fight each other and after sometime Dev will start dominating Shiva. Now Alia will show her true self. She belongs to a secret society created by Amrita. Amrita knew that one day DEV will get free and he will try to get his revenge . He will bring chaos on this earth. So she had created a secret society and had passed her knowledge and experience to make a counter plan to defeat DEV and stop him for good. Alia knew everything abt Shiva since the beginning. She was just pretending that she was a stranger to him but actually she was given the responsibility to look after Shiva . The ring we saw in Dev's fingers was given to Amrita by Dev. and from Amrita it was passed to that secret society members who were looking after Shiva indirectly. This brings us to the ques why Amrita was killed. Amrita was trying to protect Shiva and that Brahmastra part from Dev's goons , that's why she had to sacrifice herself. Alia tells Shiva the truth and Amitabh tells him that he already knew the truth . Then Alia , Amitabh and Shiva uses Amrita's plan , combine powers of all Brahmansh to defeat Dev . . . Tbh I don't feel it's bad to spoon feed Indian audiences about this kind of movie. It's for the sake financial aspects of movie. When movies like detective byomkesh bakshi who doesn't spoon feed things, they become financial failure despite of being a great movie

I think alia's character is played in such a way that it will be remembered andi felt the emotions between them but I think main problem that we all face in movie are dialogues, agar acche hotel toh. In my opinion, it's a must watch in theatre. Yes it has flaws. The Love story part is weird. The songs are long. These are the only two negatives. But everything else is top notch. Specially all the action sequences and back story. You can divide first half into 3 parts and second half into 2 parts. I Half I Part is a action sequence and very good. I Half II Part is love story and a bit weird with cringey dialogues but not unbearable. I Half III is a spectacular Action Sequence. The Sanskrit BGM is insane. One of my favourite part. II Half I Part is Back story and songs😑. The back story was awesome but songs are long. II Half II and last part is must watch.

Just now watched Brahmastra on Theatres. Such a Epic film 😍 with amazing, grand visuals which is such a treat for the viewers eyes. Such a interesting screenplay filled with lots surprising Cameos. Kudos to the whole team everyone nailed it, in lots of scenes audience went total crazy. Brahmastra is totally a grand Epic Paisa vasool movie. Brahmastra is our answer for all the Marvel and DC movies. This Film will fill your heart with lot's of positivity ♥️

Coming from the perspective of an anime fan who is really into fantasy genre,... This movie was a good theatre experience but underwhelming overall or mediocre to be specific. I think the movie has very little lore that actually makes its universe, powers, lore unique. The build-up of powers, magic system, in-universe history, is non-existent n too generic. Only good thing about it is the implementation of the powers themselves, the Astra designs, choreography n fights n obviously VFX. Other than that everything else about the astras is so generic. For people who don't know the language, they'll feel that the concepts something interesting... N cool But majority Indians north or south generally under the basics so it's clear as a day Apart from the names, nothing is fully dived into, n explored properly in the "ancient texts" as claimed by the director to research on for 10 yrs. Simply, Astra = weapon Vanara = Monkey Agni = Fire Jala = water Pavana = wind Prabhata = dawn (i think) Varara Astra = Monkey weapon Agni Astra = fire weapon Etc etc... Brahma Astra = Brahma's weapon The name of the guardians = Brahmansh = Brahma ansh Ansh = essence or parts or portion So, Brahmansh = those who comprise a portion of energy of Brahma (a deity) Apart from these names, which when the meaning is known is not much impressive, n a group of guardians who are trained in these astras from generation to generation, there is no exploration of the lore, the significance of the astras or their mastery, training, mental state necessary to harness n control them etc... The antagonist's name is "dev", which means "demigod" or " deity" or " god" And Junoon calls him " Brahmdev" meaning "lord Brahma",. Because she considers Brahma to be the most powerful? I think that's the logic there... ****** And the writers did such a lazy job that, they used the name " Brahma" everywhere to signify something which is very great or extraordinarily powerful... The pattern Of... Brahma Astra ( most powerful weapon according to the movie) Brahmadev (antagonist's name) Brahmansh ( the guardians trained in astras, even though we were not given any details about how to harness, control, n master them) Etc etc.... So lazy writing.... The fact that nothing is anywhere taking actual inspiration from any Indian history/epics, let alone being inspired by them... Except for the names, n some random terminology, and nothing deep is explored, even in the direction of fantasy elements, on the in-universe dynamics of the astras etc... I don't expect they should be true to the hindu texts in their inspirations and be truthful to it n not makeup anything, ... That won't work for a fantasy superhero genre, but WHAT IS NECESSARY FOR A FANTASY SUPERHERO GENRE is the INWORLD PHYSICS, LOGICS, WHYS, DEFINING THE POWERS N HOW TO HARNESS N CONTROL THEM, ETC. ---- The fact that according to the Mahabharata and other scriptures, Brahmastra is one of the powerful astras (celestial weapons) but it is not the most powerful astra, and i don't think it is in top 3 even. And all other astras in the movie were all generic astras in the scriptures used during the Mahabharata war or in Ramayana or other ancient times. Even none of those astras were anywhere explained, or explored in the movies in any detail even by taking any artistic choices. Only one good thing is their designs. Apart from that nothing is great. And I'm not much impressed by the VFX because I've seen far greater implementations, designs and adaptations of weapons and powers in more innovative ways in Anime. The fact that the movie advertised to be inspired by ancient Indian weapons... Is a joke, because they didn't do any research, or they didn't put any effort into taking inspiration and creating their own power system, (EXCEPT for the bracelet/anklet designs and the VFX implementation, which are the only good things about it). At least a training montage or some deep lore, or back story based on other Hindu concepts like reincarnation or karma, or wasanas, or yoga or prana or chakras ... Nothing is explored. In Naruto, the term Chakra is used, but is used with totally different meaning, however, Masashi kishimoto made his own version of the concept called chakra, loosely based on the original concept of chakras. Or the deep vedantic philosophy is adapted and incorporated in Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, so organically which has become the central philosophy around which the entire alchemy and it's rules are framed upon. The actual lore is not taken in FMAB, but the actual philosophy is fully inspired from vedantic philosophy and based on that the mangaka Hiromu arakawa has fully created a whole new lore, concepts, power system, rules and philosophy that becomes Central to the themes, plot, character arcs, powers and the story as a whole. This is true research and taking inspiration from something and adapting it, by keeping the essence of the source but transforming, adapting it into something different. That's creativity. Or another way to take inspiration is Dragonball where, the entire world, planets, king Yama, god's, etc are all created brand new by taking inspiration from Buddhist/ Hinduism, Egyptian and other lore... And making it unique to the show... Which needs a lot of creativity. This is the level of inspiration one can take from a mythology or history, lore of a culture and adapt it n making it unique to the movie/ show. Even something like these as in these mentioned anime are expected when the director apparently has put 10 years to come up with this and has said multiple times how much inspired it is from Indian Epics, n they have researched it deeply. But except names, and lazy terminology, nothing is properly addressed for it to be a decent fantasy movie... Let alone a great one.. as they advertised it to be, with being inspired by ancient texts n 10 yrs of making. JOKE!! Even Marvel is a great example to take inspiration from Greek/Nordic mythologies to create a whole different worlds around it with characters and lore.. Brahmastra was enjoyable to watch on the big screen, and it did give a awe experience (but nowhere near any other blockbuster movies recent years), but the positives end there. The screenplay and writing was also so lame, that there were zero goosebumps or hype moments in the movie (except for the initial Sharukh Khan one). In addition, Junoon, Nagarjuna's artist character and Tenzing r interesting... But That's it. I genuinely hoped this will be a decent attempt to be a good high budget fantasy movie from India, but turns out except VFX there is nothing great about the story or writing --------------- THE FACT THAT THE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE IS NAMED ASTRAVERSE, BUT THE CENTRAL THING OF IT BEING ASTRAS ARE NOT EXPLAINED AT ALL.... OR DELVED INTO FOR A BETTER POWERUPs adding nuances to the powers n choreography etc And no effort is put into actually creating something unique for the movie where they have specific rules, training, techniques, mastery of those, the mental concentration and inner state necessary to control the astras (because it is "claimed" to be inspired from Hindu lore), the activation of chakras or pranas Or any other reasoning that will help them master these astras, Or channeling something like Chi or prana sakti into the physical astras to activate them and form a etherial form of them to fight .... , Or control the senses and meditate, train in harsh climate to master one's concentration that's necessary to control the astras .... Or may be some proper back story about how different astras are granted to different sages (shown at the beginning of the movie) in ancient times, and their individual significance, theme, intention, ANY PERSONALITY TO THE ASTRAS THEMSELVES, the different ways necessary to activate different type of astras, Or different personality traits (they can come up with the astrology part of the Hindu lore) that are in unison with different astras which can maximize their potential, and Explore the implications of their personality traits by birth vs their acquired traits due to their experience that effects their control over the astras.... Or may be different realms/dimensions of the elements where each astra operates from and can mix up dimension or time dilation concepts or of the puranas... To take the astras to different level and increase the complexity of their usage that can unlock a while different level of choreography and action sequences.... Or the most basic... The compatibility and effectiveness if each astra with different astras... And their matchups.... ANY IDEA IS BETTER... BUT NOTHING... NOTHING IS EXPLORED ABOUT THE ACTUAL MECHANICS OF THE ASTRAs the central part of the plot of he "cinematic universe" they want to create. ("not just put on the bracelets and wave the hands and concentrate on it?" I think that's what shown in the movie) EVEN IF THEY REALLY WANT TO SHOW LOVE IS IMPORTANT TO OVERPOWER THE ASTRAS, fine... There is bhatki concepts of unconditional transcendental love, which can be explored, where one channels one's devotion and love for God into others around them, which materializes into soul level bonding between Shiva and Isha ( the main protagonists) , that will enhance the control of the astra because of the harmony better two souls and their love that ultimately can flow into the astra to harness it's true potential. ( Instead of the version they have in the movie, where the romantic relationship is what trumps the ancient super powerful astras, the celestial weapons) NO CREATIVITY AT ALL... EVEN, during my short burst of a rant, I myself came up with so many different unique ideas which are actually taking some inspiration from the Vedic/puranic lore instead of lazy work of random lazy naming stuff and calling it inspiration and claiming it took 10 years to come up with he creative concepts. That has to be the joke of the century.

@Hello World pehli baat agar english bolna nahi aata toh mat bol. Dusri baat maine yeh nahi bola ki love story acchi hai, maine bas yeh bola ki sab superhero movies me love story hoti hai.
The movie was good vfx wise but too much of love story drags it down. From total blockbuster it shifted to mediocre coz of the love story. They should learn from RRR which also has love intrest but it was not heavily emphasized on. I guess this movie was only made for Ranbir and Alia and what astraverse really is, director has put that on backseat and focused on love story mainly.
P S 1 looks like a great must watch movie n on a very good subject of proud ancient Indian history. Good that unlike dubbed songs 🎵 dubbed movie dialogues r in pure Hindi ( Sanskrit worded ) ................. Movie songs would have been even better had A R hired someone who could write pure Hindi songs which would have connected us more with those great ancient times ................. I think makers still have time for the release n they can have songs rewritten in pure Hindi which does justice to our great Chola warriors . Music is ok but still does not properly reflect bravery , enthusiasm n power of our Great Chola kings ......... Musicians AJAY - ATUL did a very good job in Veer Ras in their music for songs in movies like TANHAJI n PANIPAT
The story was decent, Background music fantastic, VFX incredible, Dialogues not so good, songs were good they can be deleted but they didn't affect the movie so no problem, starting is superb, interval also awesome, climax was not good but I think love story part was justified at the end. Overall movie was good, everyone should go and watch it in 3D. Hoping for next part to come so some doubts can be resolved. My rating:- 3.5 out of 5
They advertised this movie as a mega vfx , Indian culture/ history based movie what we recieved was poorly written. really bad dialogues, average acting and limited vfx use. Only nandi astra scene looked good. It is an okay movie in the end but not at all worth the 450 crores spent in vfx. 8 years spent in making this but the end product is still not worth it. 2/5 from me

Brahmastra Part 2: Dev has been announced. I think this will be the origin story of the main Trishul wielding villain Brahmadev, Hrithik Roshan would be a perfect fit to play him.

The movie after the interval was really great at the first half movie was fully focused on the love story and you won't see too much action in the first half but after Interval the action and VFX will just give you goosebumps . Must watch this movie , try it you won't regret

People are just overhating bhramastra... It's a good movie.. Ya dialogue writers work wasn't that good. But the vfx is just awesome and the story is also nice. Ya it's not 100 percent perfect but it is still very good. Bollywood is now introducing movies like this and trying something new. So we all movie lovers should encourage it.

3 things which could have made this movie better are:-
1) Less romance should be there in the movie because it was breaking the flow of the movie.
2) I am not saying the songs in the movie were bad. I just want to say that Kesariya song would be enough for the movie.
3) Better dialogue should be there especially for Ranbir and Alia

Just watched it. A solid 7/10. I reduced 3 points because of the love angle of this flims, sometimes it becomes bore, and sometimes it becomes unnecessary, but the film catch up quickly. The action, CGI, VFX, music is awesome. I hope they will further explore this universe in upcoming movie. For an introduction to Astraverse, I think it's a good movie.

I really liked this movie a mediocre love story based, but insignificant antagonist characters. VFX superb. SRK cameo superb, Ranbir acting top, Alia acting a little inexperienced.
Disappointing thing that they didn't introduced loveastra, after all that Ranbir - Alia stuff.
Overall movie is above average. This movie will be a hit but not sure as a blockbuster.

As a first bollywood movie on this concept, I guess we should support it . Yes movie has some flaws . Maybe trimming down love story part by 10 20 mins could have helped. Director is not much experienced .
But all in all , it's a good movie , you will definitely enjoy it and as badal said 2nd half keeps getting better as movie proceeds. Try to watch it in housefull theater coz of SRK. Cliffhangers are also good and they excite you for 2nd part . (I hope they make 2nd part )

Brahmastra- part 2 (DEV) fan theory:-
Dev will find Shiva and Guruji as he is free now. He will confront them and then Amitabh and DEV will have talks regarding morality and ambitions .
Then will come the flashback story...
DEV was a anti hero type like Black Adam . He had a chaos under him. Amrita on the other hand was pure and calm like water. Dev mastered AgniAstra . His weapon was the TRISHUL. Then there comes love story of Dev and Amrita , the two opposite natured person will get attracted towards each other same like YE JAWANI HAI DEEWANI . like naina gets attracted to kabir, Amrita will fall in love with DEV and his inner chaos. Then there will be some attack on the Brahmansh and they will suffer some heavy casualty. Dev's best friend may get killed or heavily injured in that attack. Dev will try to persuade Brahmansh members to counter attack but major of the brahmansh members will pressurize to remain calm. They will blame Dev for his careless and rouge behaviour for this attack. This will make Dev angry and he will try to take revenge on the villains by himself but he alone will not be capable enough. So he will try to steal the weapons of other members. But during this process he gets confronted by another Brahmansh member and he gets exposed. The Brahmansh will now see Dev as a loose Canon and will throw him out of their secret society and also disrespect him because of his treason.
Filled by grave hate and anger , Dev will now master his AGNIASTRA to its full potential and will kill the owners of KAVACH & MIND CONTROL one by one and will take their weapons. Then he will avenge his friend's death. After the battle with the villains , he will realize that he needs the absolute power of BRAHMASTRA so that he can protect people he loves and also he now feels that Brahmansh are way more tolerant than they should be . So now he decides to wake the BRAHMASTRA and become the BrahmaDev .
So now he attacks the Brahmansh and nearly defeats all the warriors . He is now on the verge of waking up the BRAHMASTRA but he didn't know the after effect of it. Also in this battle , the guru of Brahmansh will get severely injured . Taking
his last breath he will beg Amrita to stop Dev . So now binded by her loyalty to Brahmansh and due to her moral ground, pregnant Amrita will now come to stop Dev. Seeing Amrita , Dev will hesitate at first . But now due to this enormous power , he is corrupted and his inner chaos, darkness has taken over him. He fights Amrita and after a major battle , he starts to dominate her . Then she tells him that she is pregnant with his child. This will shatter Dev and will give Amrita the precious time she requires . Then with the help of Brahmansh guru's weapon and with her all power she attacks Dev who has lowered his guard, with a final powerful blow . But since he is too powerful , he is not defeated but is trapped and cursed that only BRAHMASTRA akawended can free him. During this battle , Amrita breaks the BRAHMASTRA into 3 pieces resembling HER , DEV & THEIR CHILD SHIVA. In That battle , When at last she attacked Dev with all of her power , her jalastra weapon may get trapped into DEV'S wound and the whole island gets submerged into sea. But using her fractions of power last left , she sends 2 BRAHMASTRA parts on that boat which we have seen in BRAHMASTRA part 1 with Amrita and Dev's name on it to Amitabh Bachchan and other Brahmansh and she rescues herself with her unborn child.
Now since Amrita is separated from Dev and she thinks that she betrayed him , with a huge grief and broken heart , Amrita left the Brahmansh and make Shiva her life. She makes no contact with Brahmansh and lives a simple life. She converts the one part of BRAHMASTRA into SHANKH.
Then after some years , Dev manages to mind control some persons who went under sea for exploration. Then he made them attack With his power on Amrita and take revenge. Since Amrita had lost her JALASTRA power so she gets defeated and gets burnt alive in that attack but Shiva doesn't as he also has power of AGNIASTRA.

Now coming to present day, Dev asks Shiva to come by his side as he is his son but Shiva tells him that since he killed his mother , he can't. Dev tells him that that was an unfortunate accident and he feels sorry for that. Then Dev also tries to polarize Shiva towards him by telling him his ambitious plan. But Shiva declines his offer . Then there is fight between both parties : Dev and Shiva. All Brahmansh warriors gather together As Dev is very much powerful. Alia uses the VAYU ASTRA. This epic battle takes a lot of casualties and Dev starts to dominate everyone because he has the power of AGNI, JAL , KAWACH AND MIND CONTROL. Amitabh realizes that they will get defeated and asks Alia to push Shiva to his full potential. Then father and son ; Dev and Shiva will fight each other and after sometime Dev will start dominating Shiva.
Now Alia will show her true self. She belongs to a secret society created by Amrita. Amrita knew that one day DEV will get free and he will try to get his revenge . He will bring chaos on this earth. So she had created a secret society and had passed her knowledge and experience to make a counter plan to defeat DEV and stop him for good. Alia knew everything abt Shiva since the beginning. She was just pretending that she was a stranger to him but actually she was given the responsibility to look after Shiva . The ring we saw in Dev's fingers was given to Amrita by Dev. and from Amrita it was passed to that secret society members who were looking after Shiva indirectly.
This brings us to the ques why Amrita was killed.
Amrita was trying to protect Shiva and that Brahmastra part from Dev's goons , that's why she had to sacrifice herself.
Alia tells Shiva the truth and Amitabh tells him that he already knew the truth . Then Alia , Amitabh and Shiva uses Amrita's plan , combine powers of all Brahmansh to defeat Dev .

In my opinion, it's a must watch in theatre. Yes it has flaws. The Love story part is weird. The songs are long. These are the only two negatives. But everything else is top notch. Specially all the action sequences and back story. You can divide first half into 3 parts and second half into 2 parts. I Half I Part is a action sequence and very good. I Half II Part is love story and a bit weird with cringey dialogues but not unbearable. I Half III is a spectacular Action Sequence. The Sanskrit BGM is insane. One of my favourite part. II Half I Part is Back story and songs😑. The back story was awesome but songs are long. II Half II and last part is must watch.

Just now watched Brahmastra on Theatres. Such a Epic film 😍 with amazing, grand visuals which is such a treat for the viewers eyes. Such a interesting screenplay filled with lots surprising Cameos. Kudos to the whole team everyone nailed it, in lots of scenes audience went total crazy. Brahmastra is totally a grand Epic Paisa vasool movie. Brahmastra is our answer for all the Marvel and DC movies. This Film will fill your heart with lot's of positivity ♥️
TBH I loved the movie but totally agree that Alia's character in particular was SOO badly written. Every time she spoke I was like chup karrrr.
But the movie is an absolute visual treat. The grand scale, the production, world-class visuals and CGI, Ranbir, Shahrukh, Nagarjuna, Mouni etc make it a MUST WATCH!!

Coming from the perspective of an anime fan who is really into fantasy genre,... This movie was a good theatre experience but underwhelming overall or mediocre to be specific.
I think the movie has very little lore that actually makes its universe, powers, lore unique.
The build-up of powers, magic system, in-universe history, is non-existent n too generic.
Only good thing about it is the implementation of the powers themselves, the Astra designs, choreography n fights n obviously VFX.
Other than that everything else about the astras is so generic.
For people who don't know the language, they'll feel that the concepts something interesting... N cool
But majority Indians north or south generally under the basics so it's clear as a day
Apart from the names, nothing is fully dived into, n explored properly in the "ancient texts" as claimed by the director to research on for 10 yrs. Simply,
Astra = weapon
Vanara = Monkey
Agni = Fire
Jala = water
Pavana = wind
Prabhata = dawn (i think)
Varara Astra = Monkey weapon
Agni Astra = fire weapon
Etc etc...
Brahma Astra = Brahma's weapon
The name of the guardians = Brahmansh = Brahma ansh
Ansh = essence or parts or portion
So, Brahmansh = those who comprise a portion of energy of Brahma (a deity)
Apart from these names, which when the meaning is known is not much impressive, n a group of guardians who are trained in these astras from generation to generation, there is no exploration of the lore, the significance of the astras or their mastery, training, mental state necessary to harness n control them etc...
The antagonist's name is "dev", which means "demigod" or " deity" or " god"
And Junoon calls him " Brahmdev" meaning "lord Brahma",. Because she considers Brahma to be the most powerful?
I think that's the logic there...

And the writers did such a lazy job that, they used the name " Brahma" everywhere to signify something which is very great or extraordinarily powerful...

Brahma Astra ( most powerful weapon according to the movie)
Brahmadev (antagonist's name)
Brahmansh ( the guardians trained in astras, even though we were not given any details about how to harness, control, n master them)
Etc etc....
So lazy writing....
The fact that nothing is anywhere taking actual inspiration from any Indian history/epics, let alone being inspired by them... Except for the names, n some random terminology, and
nothing deep is explored, even in the direction of fantasy elements, on the in-universe dynamics of the astras etc...
I don't expect they should be true to the hindu texts in their inspirations and be truthful to it n not makeup anything, ... That won't work for a fantasy superhero genre, but WHAT IS NECESSARY FOR A FANTASY SUPERHERO GENRE is the INWORLD PHYSICS, LOGICS, WHYS, DEFINING THE POWERS N HOW TO HARNESS N CONTROL THEM, ETC.

The fact that according to the Mahabharata and other scriptures, Brahmastra is one of the powerful astras (celestial weapons) but it is not the most powerful astra, and i don't think it is in top 3 even.
And all other astras in the movie were all generic astras in the scriptures used during the Mahabharata war or in Ramayana or other ancient times.
Even none of those astras were anywhere explained, or explored in the movies in any detail even by taking any artistic choices.
Only one good thing is their designs. Apart from that nothing is great. And I'm not much impressed by the VFX because I've seen far greater implementations, designs and adaptations of weapons and powers in more innovative ways in Anime.
The fact that the movie advertised to be inspired by ancient Indian weapons... Is a joke, because they didn't do any research, or they didn't put any effort into taking inspiration and creating their own power system, (EXCEPT for the bracelet/anklet designs and the VFX implementation, which are the only good things about it).
At least a training montage or some deep lore, or back story based on other Hindu concepts like reincarnation or karma, or wasanas, or yoga or prana or chakras ... Nothing is explored.
In Naruto, the term Chakra is used, but is used with totally different meaning, however, Masashi kishimoto made his own version of the concept called chakra, loosely based on the original concept of chakras.
Or the deep vedantic philosophy is adapted and incorporated in Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, so organically which has become the central philosophy around which the entire alchemy and it's rules are framed upon. The actual lore is not taken in FMAB, but the actual philosophy is fully inspired from vedantic philosophy and based on that the mangaka Hiromu arakawa has fully created a whole new lore, concepts, power system, rules and philosophy that becomes Central to the themes, plot, character arcs, powers and the story as a whole. This is true research and taking inspiration from something and adapting it, by keeping the essence of the source but transforming, adapting it into something different. That's creativity.
Or another way to take inspiration is Dragonball where, the entire world, planets, king Yama, god's, etc are all created brand new by taking inspiration from Buddhist/ Hinduism, Egyptian and other lore... And making it unique to the show... Which needs a lot of creativity. This is the level of inspiration one can take from a mythology or history, lore of a culture and adapt it n making it unique to the movie/ show.
Even something like these as in these mentioned anime are expected when the director apparently has put 10 years to come up with this and has said multiple times how much inspired it is from Indian Epics, n they have researched it deeply.
But except names, and lazy terminology, nothing is properly addressed for it to be a decent fantasy movie... Let alone a great one.. as they advertised it to be, with being inspired by ancient texts n 10 yrs of making. JOKE!!
Even Marvel is a great example to take inspiration from Greek/Nordic mythologies to create a whole different worlds around it with characters and lore..
Brahmastra was enjoyable to watch on the big screen, and it did give a awe experience (but nowhere near any other blockbuster movies recent years), but the positives end there.
The screenplay and writing was also so lame, that there were zero goosebumps or hype moments in the movie (except for the initial Sharukh Khan one).
In addition, Junoon, Nagarjuna's artist character and Tenzing r interesting... But That's it.
I genuinely hoped this will be a decent attempt to be a good high budget fantasy movie from India, but turns out except VFX there is nothing great about the story or writing

THE FACT THAT THE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE IS NAMED ASTRAVERSE, BUT THE CENTRAL THING OF IT BEING ASTRAS ARE NOT EXPLAINED AT ALL.... OR DELVED INTO FOR A BETTER POWERUPs adding nuances to the powers n choreography etc
And no effort is put into actually creating something unique for the movie where they have specific rules, training, techniques, mastery of those, the mental concentration and inner state necessary to control the astras (because it is "claimed" to be inspired from Hindu lore), the activation of chakras or pranas
Or any other reasoning that will help them master these astras,
Or channeling something like Chi or prana sakti into the physical astras to activate them and form a etherial form of them to fight .... ,
Or control the senses and meditate, train in harsh climate to master one's concentration that's necessary to control the astras ....
Or may be some proper back story about how different astras are granted to different sages (shown at the beginning of the movie) in ancient times, and their individual significance, theme, intention, ANY PERSONALITY TO THE ASTRAS THEMSELVES, the different ways necessary to activate different type of astras,
Or different personality traits (they can come up with the astrology part of the Hindu lore) that are in unison with different astras which can maximize their potential, and Explore the implications of their personality traits by birth vs their acquired traits due to their experience that effects their control over the astras....
Or may be different realms/dimensions of the elements where each astra operates from and can mix up dimension or time dilation concepts or of the puranas... To take the astras to different level and increase the complexity of their usage that can unlock a while different level of choreography and action sequences....
Or the most basic... The compatibility and effectiveness if each astra with different astras... And their matchups....
ANY IDEA IS BETTER... BUT NOTHING... NOTHING IS EXPLORED ABOUT THE ACTUAL MECHANICS OF THE ASTRAs the central part of the plot of he "cinematic universe" they want to create.
("not just put on the bracelets and wave the hands and concentrate on it?" I think that's what shown in the movie)
EVEN IF THEY REALLY WANT TO SHOW LOVE IS IMPORTANT TO OVERPOWER THE ASTRAS, fine... There is bhatki concepts of unconditional transcendental love, which can be explored, where one channels one's devotion and love for God into others around them, which materializes into soul level bonding between Shiva and Isha ( the main protagonists) , that will enhance the control of the astra because of the harmony better two souls and their love that ultimately can flow into the astra to harness it's true potential.
( Instead of the version they have in the movie, where the romantic relationship is what trumps the ancient super powerful astras, the celestial weapons)
NO CREATIVITY AT ALL...
EVEN, during my short burst of a rant, I myself came up with so many different unique ideas which are actually taking some inspiration from the Vedic/puranic lore instead of lazy work of random lazy naming stuff and calling it inspiration and claiming it took 10 years to come up with he creative concepts.
That has to be the joke of the century.

The movie was good vfx wise but too much of love story drags it down. From total blockbuster it shifted to mediocre coz of the love story. They should learn from RRR which also has love intrest but it was not heavily emphasized on. I guess this movie was only made for Ranbir and Alia and what astraverse really is, director has put that on backseat and focused on love story mainly.
Went to watch full on adventure and mythology, ended up watching absurd love story. SRK & Nagarjuna cameo was great though

P S 1 looks like a great must watch movie n on a very good subject of proud ancient Indian history. Good that unlike dubbed songs 🎵 dubbed movie dialogues r in pure Hindi ( Sanskrit worded ) ................. Movie songs would have been even better had A R hired someone who could write pure Hindi songs which would have connected us more with those great ancient times
................. I think makers still have time for the release n they can have songs rewritten in pure Hindi which does justice to our great Chola warriors . Music is ok but still does not properly reflect bravery , enthusiasm n power of our Great Chola kings ......... Musicians AJAY - ATUL did a very good job in Veer Ras in their music for songs in movies like TANHAJI n PANIPAT
The story was decent, Background music fantastic, VFX incredible, Dialogues not so good, songs were good they can be deleted but they didn't affect the movie so no problem, starting is superb, interval also awesome, climax was not good but I think love story part was justified at the end. Overall movie was good, everyone should go and watch it in 3D. Hoping for next part to come so some doubts can be resolved.

They advertised this movie as a mega vfx , Indian culture/ history based movie what we recieved was poorly written. really bad dialogues, average acting and limited vfx use. Only nandi astra scene looked good. It is an okay movie in the end but not at all worth the 450 crores spent in vfx. 8 years spent in making this but the end product is still not worth it. 2/5 from me

I just watched brahmastra in 3d in the theatre and I'm totally impressed with this film. This is one of the best film of bollywood and the VFX oh my god fabulous ❤️

The movie after the interval was really great at the first half movie was fully focused on the love story and you won't see too much action in the first half but after Interval the action and VFX will just give you goosebumps . Must watch this movie , try it you won't regret
