Bolivian Ametrine: From Mine to Market by GIA. Learn more about Bolivian ametrine from Robert Weldon, GIA's photography and visual communications manager. He discusses the amethyst gemstone, the mines and the marketing of the gem. He also explains the rarity of Bolivian ametrine, and offers some personal insights about the time he spent in Bolivia as a young man. Ametrine is the rare and unique amethyst gemstone that is half amethyst (purple) and half citrine (yellow). Only 10 percent of Bolivian mined amethyst rock and amethyst crystals produce jewelry-quality ametrine. This video depicts the amethyst geode mine that is very difficult to access, and shows the amethyst rock and amethyst crystal mining process to produce amethyst gemstones. Robert Weldon offers a rare and valuable perspective on Bolivian ametrine, while shedding light on its unique gem-mining process.

I love crystals! Their energy & vibrations really speak to me and help me and my clients.
Complete pseudoscience
Such a beautiful stone.
The mining process from earth to the jewelry store is fascinating. These mingled hues of color are very beautiful and the cuts are spectacular!

That girl wearing the Ametrine is the biggest jewel of them all. Priceless sample indeed.

Belíssima a ametista boliviana.
The colors of the sunset on the river look just like amtrine
I enjoy faceting Ametine. While faceting it, theres a slight mystery of how the colors will blend or stay separated until its finished.
Lindas pedras ametista
What a gorgeous gem! What is the value of Ametrine and where can I buy a piece?I want this gem in my collection. I love all gems.
...A guy named Brian Kvasnik, of Gem Resources of Minneapolis, had truly impressive piles of rough and cut Ametrine stones, around 1991...

Love brazil and,the,area surrounding
super
Where can you buy some in the ruff ?
Gheez that’s a beautiful stone.
Nice video. However, unless I missed it, you didn't get to the most obvious question of all! Why are ametrine crystals two colors, when the production of pretty much every other quartz mine anywhere in the world happily produces crystals of only one or no color?
Difference in pressure and heat when it is formed
Because the two minerals were formed/fused together naturally: Amethyst and Citrine (hence the portmanteau "Ametrine").
Nice,combination,of,citrineand,amethest.
Ametrino 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤🍀👏🏼👏🏼
Can I somewhere buy the raw crystals from this area? Any recommendations?
Try searching the internet.

nice

what kind a stone..?

Are you fucking kidding me, lol! 😂 🤦♂️
What happens when it rains? The washed ruff that is tossed to the side gets wet when it rains. The groundwater leads to oceans, lakes, and rivers. Why not return the ruff to its original place where it is not polluting anywhere or harming anyone?
Too much work and expense, thus reducing production and profit $$.
The mine owners care about environment and don't discharge "sediments" when washing the gem gravel. Where is the dirty water going? In a reservoir? Lake? River? The dirty muddy water go somewhere.
