    Great tips on getting ready. I have to admit I really like each of my projects to have a separate basket/tote box so I can grab what I want to work on, having everything in that one space, and have a play. Thank you fir sharing your process 🫶🏼

    Rachel, I don’t think you planned the video to show you in front of the Christmas tree, but I have to tell you that you look like an angel with a beautiful golden halo around your head and shoulders. 😇

    I have never heard of a "Temperature Quilt" but I find it fascinating! I can't wait to see just how this quilt goes together.

    I started a temp quilt in 2023 but got side tracked so I will try and sew along with you🙏 I’m in Texas so our temps are all over the place.
    Looking forward to everyone’s progress

    I put an X on the top of the plastic container with a marker for the old blades and needles

    I save my old rotary blades for paper projects or for cutting template plastic, etc. Some quilters have a separate handle for their paper blades, but since it only takes a minute, I change mine out every time. I have a green ribbon for fabric and red ribbon for paper that I tie on the handle as a quick reference. The ribbon is small and fits in the plastic blade holder 10:17 with the matching blade... I've taken a fine sharpie and written "paper" on the red ribbon. 💖🌞🌵😷

      That's a very good idea! I often wish I had a rotary cutter for papers so I'll definitely do this ❤️

      @@stitchwithrachel , my old blade had a nick in it, after my sister borrowed it. She bought me a new one, but I kept the old for paper projects and I've used it so much that I've worked the nick right out. Yes, there was a skip for a while, but it's gone now. If you go through a lot of blades, there's gizmos that will sharpen a dull blade, but do nothing for nicks. 💖🌞🌵😷

    January 25 2024 Maryland USA: Just popping in and found your channel. I have heard of the temperature blanket that is crochet and was beginning to get on board with it. However, I love how a material temperature quilt is such a heirloom piece. I am ready to get in gear watching this video and get on with this make. Great ideas with the storage containers.

    Just a tip if the circles when cut is a bit jagged then take an emory board that you use for your finger nails and just rub gently.

    Thanks for another great video Rachel, I'm going to buy a couple of boxes, what a great idea. I have taken my temperature readings back to June 2023 so that I can complete my Sofa Throw, (I'm not doing a quilt as such), before I go back to the UK for my summer holidays, then I can buy my backing and wadding. Thanks again for some great ideas, can't wait to see you get started. Happy sewing and Happy New Year.

    I am soooo tempted to make a temperature quilt BUT I have too many half-done projects to work on instead. Your fabrics are lovely 💙🎉💙

      We don't mention half completed projects around here 🤣🤣 I have too many too but it's my aim for this year.. just small amounts on outstanding quilts each day.

    Love that your sister is doing quilt as you go block. I was going to do flying geese but can’t get template so might switch to that. How is she representing high/low? Two blocks per day or doing half the block one and half the block the other?

    • @stitchwithrachel
      @stitchwithrachel  11 місяців тому +1

      Thank you.. because she's doing a quilt as you go block, she has 2 fabrics for each block, so the middle fabric is the high and the outside fabric is the low temp. It's a super good way of doing it, I'll share photos once she's started xx

    What's your preferred needle for needle turn applique?

    • @stitchwithrachel
      @stitchwithrachel  11 місяців тому +1

      I like a milliners needle, a size 10 for needleturn as I like it a little thicker to help move the fabric
