Great tips on getting ready. I have to admit I really like each of my projects to have a separate basket/tote box so I can grab what I want to work on, having everything in that one space, and have a play. Thank you fir sharing your process 🫶🏼
Rachel, I don’t think you planned the video to show you in front of the Christmas tree, but I have to tell you that you look like an angel with a beautiful golden halo around your head and shoulders. 😇
I have never heard of a "Temperature Quilt" but I find it fascinating! I can't wait to see just how this quilt goes together. You are adorable!😊 Leslie from California, USA
I started a temp quilt in 2023 but got side tracked so I will try and sew along with you🙏 I’m in Texas so our temps are all over the place. Looking forward to everyone’s progress
I save my old rotary blades for paper projects or for cutting template plastic, etc. Some quilters have a separate handle for their paper blades, but since it only takes a minute, I change mine out every time. I have a green ribbon for fabric and red ribbon for paper that I tie on the handle as a quick reference. The ribbon is small and fits in the plastic blade holder 10:17 with the matching blade... I've taken a fine sharpie and written "paper" on the red ribbon. 💖🌞🌵😷
@@stitchwithrachel , my old blade had a nick in it, after my sister borrowed it. She bought me a new one, but I kept the old for paper projects and I've used it so much that I've worked the nick right out. Yes, there was a skip for a while, but it's gone now. If you go through a lot of blades, there's gizmos that will sharpen a dull blade, but do nothing for nicks. 💖🌞🌵😷
January 25 2024 Maryland USA: Just popping in and found your channel. I have heard of the temperature blanket that is crochet and was beginning to get on board with it. However, I love how a material temperature quilt is such a heirloom piece. I am ready to get in gear watching this video and get on with this make. Great ideas with the storage containers.
Thanks for another great video Rachel, I'm going to buy a couple of boxes, what a great idea. I have taken my temperature readings back to June 2023 so that I can complete my Sofa Throw, (I'm not doing a quilt as such), before I go back to the UK for my summer holidays, then I can buy my backing and wadding. Thanks again for some great ideas, can't wait to see you get started. Happy sewing and Happy New Year.
We don't mention half completed projects around here 🤣🤣 I have too many too but it's my aim for this year.. just small amounts on outstanding quilts each day.
Hi Rachel! I love your videos on Tik Tok. I requested to join the Temp Quilt a long. Hopefully I will be accepted! you have inspired me to hand sew... 🥰
I'm glad you are enjoying my videos, I'll have a look at the Facebook requests shortly and providing you answered the entry questions you will be accepted
Love that your sister is doing quilt as you go block. I was going to do flying geese but can’t get template so might switch to that. How is she representing high/low? Two blocks per day or doing half the block one and half the block the other?
Thank you.. because she's doing a quilt as you go block, she has 2 fabrics for each block, so the middle fabric is the high and the outside fabric is the low temp. It's a super good way of doing it, I'll share photos once she's started xx

Oh thank you! I just thought I'd film by the Christmas tree because it gives nice lighting but I'm an angel now 😇😇💖💖
Hello Rachel, Thank you for sharing this video showing how you are organizing your temperature quilt project. I can't wait to see your progress. ❤😊

I’m in Mississippi and we have similar variance - 10-104 last year 😅 - but if want to join on the crazy journey I’m right there with you!
I put an X on the top of the plastic container with a marker for the old blades and needles

That's a very good idea! I often wish I had a rotary cutter for papers so I'll definitely do this ❤️

Thank you so much for this, I really needed a guide on what I should do to get ready for the quilt start. I'm really excited for this quilt-along! 🧵🪡
I live in Florida. I should make a humidity quilt. LOL
Yes!!
Hello from across the pond! I enjoyed your video. I've often thought about making a temperature quilt. I look forward to watching your progress.
Thanks for watching! I'll be sure to share updates x
Just a tip if the circles when cut is a bit jagged then take an emory board that you use for your finger nails and just rub gently.
Ooih excellent tip... thank you ❤️

I am soooo tempted to make a temperature quilt BUT I have too many half-done projects to work on instead. Your fabrics are lovely 💙🎉💙

Tx 4 video. What is a temperature quilt
Thank you Rachel for all the preparation ideas. I need to go out and get myself a box and some individual bags I think. Not long to go now!! xx
It'll come around so quickly xx
I need to catch up. I am doing one like Rachel's sister. Do you think I can machine quilt/join my squares now and then hand sew later?
Hi Rachel, I hope you are feeling better!
I am!.. and in time for Christmas too. Thank you ❤️💖

What's your preferred needle for needle turn applique?
I like a milliners needle, a size 10 for needleturn as I like it a little thicker to help move the fabric
I have my first one done!! Is there a # to use on FB to share our progress?
Yeah you can use #ourtempquilt24 on fb and ig to share your progress xx
Hi Rachel do you have a embroidery shop looking for ladies swear shirt with flowers on it
Hello, I do yes but I mainly do children's personalised items x
Sorry, but the twinkling lights behind you are really distracting 🙁
Each to their own …. I love it find it inspiring… we are an odd bunch on this planet 😂
