the problem with klay is that he lost his prime years too early at 29 years old with more thant 2 years of rehab, he still looks not accepting that he can't be the same or approach his prime years level and still refusing that his body isn't the same with thoses acumulated sever injuries and age too.
Now as a free agent, he should taccept a very reduced role and salary like westbrook did and perhaps he could stay at gsw and being a very helpfull role player.

I’m going to make I guess why he is pissed. The reason is that he really did put it his all and he still was ASS! He wanted to have a career year and get another massive contract because Klay at this point of his career is money driven. That’s my take on it. Klay had a great career and is a very nice man. The ESPN talking heads keep saying he'd be an asset next season. But Father Time has come calling. There is no shame in admitting it. Klay had a subpar season compared to Klay of the past. He had the luxury of the best defenders being on Steph Curry not him, and still his play declined. His defense has also fallen off. Most importantly, at playoff speed he looked slower out there. The Warriors would be wise to concede it is the end of Klay's greatness and try to move him. Bringing him off the bench is dumb, get a new talent that can be groomed. Klay's path is downward and we've all seen it, he may as well accept it; let's be honest he will be worse next year - that's the way it goes.
He deserves a redemption year at least. Everyone's acting like it's his fault but really the whole team dropped the ball, he's just the easy scapegoat. Keep ya head up Klay 😤

People forgetting he had two career ending injuries, still came back and helped win a ring. You can tell he’s in his feelings because it seems people forgot the crazy shit he’s done, pre injury he was the best shooter in the league, this shouldn’t tarnish his legacy
honestly I think klay will return as a warrior, the Chris Paul trade served 2 purposes. the first being that it unloaded that Jordan poole contract while still keeping a player who can contribute. the second being that it cleared up a lot of the salary cap going forward. His year is non guaranteed and shaving 30 million off of the books will clean up a lot, specially since it would drop them under the salary cap.
in terms of Thompsons contract there is a lot of ways they can reach some sort of common ground, it can be incentive laden, it can be in descending where he starts off around 25-27 million but by the end of the deal he is making 21 million which combined with the increasing salary cap wont hinder the team. if they really want to make one final push would be resigning the core and maybe swinging for the fences by trading 3-5 future firsts and swaps along with wiggins for a bonafide star to give them hope at contending for another title or two. there just doesn't seem to be any real candidates at the moment.
