its april 2024 and klay is playing really well. he has to work a lot harder to get out of slumps at his age and after two devastating injuries but he's still an amazing player - one of my favorite of all time.
Just looking at this video, you can see just how different his form is to how it is now. he can't get his legs under him anymore and there are some games where they're really really bad - to the point that his form completely changes because his arms over compensate. Klay WAS a traditional jumpshooter, and an occasional set shooter. being forced to flip that because of injuries and not having enough leg strength when having to switch back to the occasional jumpshot killed his percentages. Surprisingly, last year was his "best year" after a horrendous start. That means Klay can still be Klay in solid stretches but he can only go as far as his legs can take him. if his legs are, simply put, SHOT, then he has to rework his jumper from the ground up (which I doubt he will given his pride on his jumper). if he keeps trying to shoot this way with bad legs, they're just gonna be flat no matter how much backspin he puts on the ball.
Was always such a consistent player. Solid on defense, showed up for the whole season, hit his shots. The year before his injury he was lacing 3's at 44%. I'm glad he bounced back and got a chip. That shit ain't easy.
This hits hard man. Prime Klay was a monster of his own when he enters Heat Check Mode. Sad seeing him struggle this season but I don't blame him, the guy had 2 major injuries but still came back to play, you gotta respect that
Prime Klay was insane. Prime Klay could literally fit on any of the 30 NBA Teams because he could shoot the shit out of the ball and also play fantastic defense. His defense got compromised after the 2 horrible injuries and his shot selection got worse because the 2 seasons he was out he developed a solid handle. Klay developing a handle ended doing more damage because he would now start taking impossible degree of difficulty shots with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. He’s still a solid player.
Prime Klay was something else and he was so clutch. I remember that game 6 against OKC when the rest of the team especially Steph was off and Klay single-handedly saved their ass. That was one of the best playoff performances I’ve ever seen.
Klay is my player when I think of the Warriors dynasty because I suffered a serious nerve injury around the same time as Klay went down in 2019. Klay's recovery was really motivating for me at a time when taking a step meant every muscle burned and walking over a short distance seemed like a marathon. My full recovery coincided with his return game, so I was hyped when Klay became another motivator to the Warriors on their way to getting the sweetest of rings.
Klay was him bruh. If Clay never got hurt, even after Kevin Durant left, the Warriors are still the problem till this day. Healthy Prime Steph and Klay 😭😭
Klay literally led the entire 2016 playoffs in " Total Points" as a 2nd option 😂 Dude literally outscored LeBron, who's the #1 scoring option in playoffs 😂. Don't forget
Teams have run lineups like that before but the fact that they were able to be a top tier defensive team with small ball and Draymond at the 5 is a real testament to Kerrs coaching and defensive ideas and the players skill set.
Klay is one of my favorite players of all time and I love him so much.. It's very tough to see the massive hate that he is getting and all the Warrior "fans" switch up like this.. He is the second best shooter of all time and I hope he ends up being a Warrior for life. I really don't want him to get traded, I believe that he'll pick it up and be more efficient and play great again.
You got to do a video on how important Sean Livingston was to the Warriors! I remember multiple times when Steph and Klay were having a tough time getting hot Livingston would come off the bench catching fire and getting everyone inspired! I miss him bruh he was major to GSW and underrated too!
I’m glad you brought up the fact that the warriors were terrible before Klay showed up. The younger generation has grown tired of seeing the warriors success but fail to realize the pain and suffering their fan base went through for years leading up to the dynasty. Always stayed loyal and would sell out oracle even when they were bad. Very deserving fan base imo
Catch this.. I need a Klay Documentary. GSW must win this year's Chip. Regardless of his situation whether he stays or goes, he'll forever be a Warriors Legend and a docu cementing his alter-egos, mythical impact, and ever-amusing personality will be fitting. A championship will definitely make it sweeter.
Prime Klay was PROBABLY the best 3 and D player to ever exist, and one of the best 2-way players to ever play the game. Near 50-40-90 club all the time and averaging less than 2 seconds with the ball per possession is insanity.
He is passing through a post-trauma mental reconstructive period, it got a little harsh with the down performance of the whole team through the first half of this season, he will be ok
Him not being top 75 all time when they assembled all the players was criminal. At the time of that ceremony, Klay was definitely greater than Damian Lillard (and still is) and Anthony Davis.
watch game 6 against okc. warriors really slowly assembled one of the most revolutionary offenses we'll ever see and during such a good time. 2016-2019 warriors were going crazyy. moment in time. glad we could witness
Klay has always been a very streaky player. He'd average roughly 20ppg in his career, but he'd often have extremely cold nights followed by extremely hot nights. A lot of people remember his single game records and Game6 vs OKC but people also remember his bad finals performances, which he had surprisingly a lot of those.
The benefit of playing with a top 10 all timer to carry you when you're chucking shots. Nobody talks about how often he underperformed because Steph was always there to be the actual reason the Warriors won. Then Klay gets hot for literally one game and his fans can blurt out 37 in a quarter in perpetuity. They say "He can give you 37 in a quarter" and they say it like he can actually do it anytime. But he can't. He can't do it every second game, every ten games, every hundred games. It happened one time.
@@alexanderminuzzo4839 Exactly. Meanwhile, Klay was terrible in every finals he played in minus the ones KD was in. As a 2nd option, klay failed. So Green, Wiggins, Iggy, and KD filled that void & played well alongside Steph.
small error: the year where the warriors lost against the spurs was 2013, but the spurs had their only finals loss that year, where it was mentioned they won the championship. they won in 2014, and not the year before.
Klay in his age right now should still be in his prime.. I can't say its because of his injuries, because his not the athletic type that can affect him too much his a shooting star.. i guess the real factor was the game was progressing rapidly.. anyone now can almost shoot the ball like they did and the teams have also adjusted to the way gsw plays.. they're like an open book now that's why it's affecting his performance.
this is simply just not true. players have become better shooter but at the same time we can't just gloss over that complete lie you just told. he had two of the worst injuries you can have as a player, we see all the time that no one quite recovers the same after that. plenty of examples kobe, d rose, greg oden, etc... list goes on
@@kalenmarshall8692 i agree that he had the worst injuries sir, but kobe can still shoot. That's why I'm telling sir, kobe lost his athleticism because of injury but still had the ability to score. Klay is not as athletic as kobe he is purely a one or two dribble sharp shooter more likely to catch and shoot type of player, one thing affected klay because of injuries is his defense.. because klay may not be as athletic as kobe but his defense is superb in his early years.. and because of that he became one of the missing link in their defense that's why kerr had to bench him and he lost his confidence affecting his shooting skills.

its april 2024 and klay is playing really well. he has to work a lot harder to get out of slumps at his age and after two devastating injuries but he's still an amazing player - one of my favorite of all time.
Thank for uploading this. Hate seeing all the shit he’s been getting for the past couple months
The way he landed on that first dunk against Cleveland his first game back gave me a heart attack
prime klay was special
klay thompson game is one of my favourites simple but deadly
This hits hard man. Prime Klay was a monster of his own when he enters Heat Check Mode. Sad seeing him struggle this season but I don't blame him, the guy had 2 major injuries but still came back to play, you gotta respect that
acl and what the other
@@deathtopia-virtuososuicide8505ACL and Achilles
@@deathtopia-virtuososuicide8505achilles, 2 worst injuries a bball player can have
@@marc2465 lol thought both were the same thing
@@deathtopia-virtuososuicide8505 acl is in the knees while achilles is in the heel part. But achilles is much devastating
60 points, 14 threes, 11 dribbles in just 27 mins while setting the whole 4th quarter that is how good prime Klay is.
Prime Klay was something else and he was so clutch. I remember that game 6 against OKC when the rest of the team especially Steph was off and Klay single-handedly saved their ass. That was one of the best playoff performances I’ve ever seen.
No matter what happened I’m still a Klay Thompson Fan and always love his Game I always collect His Jerseys and Shoes ❤️🔥
Make Klay great again
There should be a thing for athletes who’ve unlocked legend status, to never be called washed, and that, is Klay
Klay was him bruh. If Clay never got hurt, even after Kevin Durant left, the Warriors are still the problem till this day. Healthy Prime Steph and Klay 😭😭
Klay literally led the entire 2016 playoffs in " Total Points" as a 2nd option 😂
Dude literally outscored LeBron, who's the #1 scoring option in playoffs 😂. Don't forget
@@TheGrimConspiracydon’t forget the 3-1 lead you guys dropped to Lebron still the greatest finals comeback in history
Teams have run lineups like that before but the fact that they were able to be a top tier defensive team with small ball and Draymond at the 5 is a real testament to Kerrs coaching and defensive ideas and the players skill set.
Kinda miss those days of the NBA like around 2010 to 2019 best years for the NBA in my opinion of this generation
Klay's record will forever mark in NBA HISTORY. It will take time to surpass his record in shooting.
Kay used to be RAW as a kid from Oakland he had defence IQ and shot
Klay is one of my favorite players of all time and I love him so much.. It's very tough to see the massive hate that he is getting and all the Warrior "fans" switch up like this..
He is the second best shooter of all time and I hope he ends up being a Warrior for life. I really don't want him to get traded, I believe that he'll pick it up and be more efficient and play great again.
great video man prime klay is good
You got to do a video on how important Sean Livingston was to the Warriors! I remember multiple times when Steph and Klay were having a tough time getting hot Livingston would come off the bench catching fire and getting everyone inspired! I miss him bruh he was major to GSW and underrated too!
only one all defensive team is insane
He wasn’t a lockdown defender 😂
Bro he wasn’t Wemby, Ben Wallace, Rudy gobert
Thrived in perfect system. Still serviceable
Klay was my top pick out of any player past or present when he’s hot. With great defense too
It's wild to use past tense when talking about how great Klay IS!
Thanks you. We went through a lot with trading our best players all the time as if we were a G-league team before there was the G-league.
having klay curry together for 3pts was such blessing their best warriors squad with kd could've dominated for far longer
Dropping tears watching these memories
one of the best snipers we've seen
Catch this..
I need a Klay Documentary. GSW must win this year's Chip. Regardless of his situation whether he stays or goes, he'll forever be a Warriors Legend and a docu cementing his alter-egos, mythical impact, and ever-amusing personality will be fitting. A championship will definitely make it sweeter.
hey been watching ur videos for years just wanted to say keep up the banger videos❤
Brooo you left out the towel pic? That moment was ICONIC.
Great video btw.
I was just binge-watching your videos & I just saw that you uploaded and I wanted to say hi.
2:03 , rare footage of kawhis genuine smile lol
I love you Klay.
I hope warriors won’t forget what klay does to the team how many times he saved the team when everybody is down. We want him to STAY❤❤❤❤❤
Watching this after klay just had 32 minutes of cardio is different
0 piece nugget
Klay deserves nothing short of a statue.
I am so happy I got to witness his prime along with Steph's.
Hail to the splash bros!
Yeaa... we all know why we came back here
😂
Miss prime klay
Prime Klay was PROBABLY the best 3 and D player to ever exist, and one of the best 2-way players to ever play the game. Near 50-40-90 club all the time and averaging less than 2 seconds with the ball per possession is insanity.
It's just sad to see what's happening to him, man. But this season it's just painful to watch him.
He will figure it out, I think he'll be back soon. Hopefully the they don't trade him as a warriors fan I'd be pissed
He is passing through a post-trauma mental reconstructive period, it got a little harsh with the down performance of the whole team through the first half of this season, he will be ok
I really feel bad for Klay at the moment, I know he deserves this greatness.
I hope he gets it together
that hope might be gone now
Man we had it so good in the 2010s. 2010s basketball was a crazy era.
Who’s here after he went 0-10 against Sacramento in the play-in 😭
Klay in his age right now should still be in his prime..
Prime klay was awesome, he was on fire during that raptors finals before he got injured. Bros efficiency was insane!
"Nuclear Klay" is the best player in NBA history. Not joking
