There are so many beautiful pieces of music in the world. For me, this is one of the most beautiful, looking into eternity, being, forever, further than the Heart can see
The most serene and beautiful piece of music that has put my baby soundly to sleep ever since she was a newborn. Through the moments I cradled her as she wondered at it all, to her crying into the night; but this music brought inner peace to us both. Next month she turns 2 and I think Spiegel im spiegel will forever be special to us.
Same! I first played this to my son as a newborn to help him sleep. He’s now nine and still asks for it at bedtime. Beautiful music with happy memories!
I've been listening music for years and I didn't know this piece. Pärt returns to the essence of the human being and music: the connection with eternity. Use the basic elements of musical interpretation to reach the sublime of the soul. Majestic
All stirring and windy noises of this world and my life have slowly faded away here, and I'm taken to a still inner place where nothing exists but this gentle stirring of a voice inside of me, reassuring me that solace is not a hidden and remote dream; it is real, and like a gentle heavenly stream, this gift from God, this soothing solace, flows peacefully into my soul and fills my cup.
a masterpiece. some days while listening to this, i feel my heart at peace. feeling tranquility, at home 💖 other days this song is painful to hear, when everything inside is broken and apart...
I never realized until now how much an influence Arvo Part must have been for Sigur Ros, as the beginning melody of Hoppipolla is really reminescent of the arpeggio and atmosphere of this beautiful compositition.
I used to listen to this song while I was reading a book called “Nightingale” it’s about WW2, now, every time I hear it I only think about this beautiful book. I suggest reading it. It’s stunning.
I had a dream. An utterly beautiful dream. It is my happy dream. A little spark of condensed happiness. When I listened to this music for the first time, in a moment I knew it would become the soundtrack of that dream.
LLevo años escuchando música y no conocía esta pieza. Pärt vuelve a la esencia del ser humano y la música: la conexión con la eternidad. Utiliza los elemento básicos de la interpretación músical para llegar a lo sublime del alma. Majestuoso.
Dear Peter, this beautiful music is therapeutic, but we still need God in an uncertain dangerous world. Jesus is beautiful too! He’s real. He’s alive! Seek & you will find. Matthew 7:7. ❤️🕊🌹

Fun fact: this is the Eastern European version/ or equivalent of the tune 'Happy Birthday.' Also, on your birthday in that part of the world you get not a cake, but a potato with a solitary candle on top which is symbolic of ones life glowing in the darkness of existential horror/ despair. So if you've got any Estonian/Romanian/Transylvanian etc friends you now know how to cheer them up on their birthday. 👍
This was background music for the BBC series, Auschwitz. I believe chosen as heavenly counterpoint to the Nazi evil horror. We are what we make of ourselves.
