RIP Sean Malone.... this under appreciated gem changed my life 🙏❤
It really feels like yesterday that he left...
This gem touched many of us. RIP Malone & Reinert, awesome musicians.
RIP to Reinert and Malone. This is one of the worst years ever.
It's like the non-solo parts are doing all they can to contain those beastly solos, but no matter what, the solos break out by sheer will of awesome.
If you like Ron's style, check out Spastic Ink and Blotted Science.
I swear this song is the best example of swapping the role of dominant and sub dominant layers multiple times!
Cool
minute 1:36, beautiful!
Gordian Knot is the band that tells us what "progressive" means.

Ron Jarzombek is the best guitarplayer of this era
The lofi clean tone in the start is some of the best lofi tone I have ever heard, not too harsh or warm. \m/ Ron Jarzombeck's tone here also blends well in the mix I think. I am so glad more bass guitar made can be heard in a lot of modern metal mixes too. This song is a good mix of super crunch intensity with the notes and chill things too. It reminds me of some video game music I listened too recently.
Perfect album. Thank you for the inspiration Sean!
It feels metal without being metal.
I just don t believe the how genius this Ron guy is.... It really freaks me out completely everytime I hear the 2:19 sol. Makes my hair fly every time. Fuck!
It's a phenomenal mix of intriguing little riffs and runs, empty space over the cool drums, and culminates nicely with those malevolent sweeps all but screaming, "DANGER, DANGER!"
Sean Malone with Sean Reinert are the best, about few years,it,s realy truth!
Shhoooowwwww!!!!!! 😃😃😃
1999 Formed in Portland, Oregon, USA in 1998 - As of 2015 the status of GORDIAN KNOT is unknown.
Such a great album, and this is one of my favourite songs. RIP Sean
Such terrible news. How can this happen???
Holy smokes, I just discovered this band (in 2023) and I'm way into it.
the short solo at 3:26 brings tears to my eyes almost instantly...

Most amazing release of all time!!
Emergent was great but this album is Sean Malone's masterpiece. The sound, the songwriting, the texture in the music and the players (Jarzombek, Snelwar, Reinert, Gunn and Myung) fit into perfection. Sean Malone is the most under appreciated bass player of all time....
I forgot how great this stuff is. Thanks for posting it. Totally going on my playlist, right next to T Sizzly collection.
fantastica!
Got a bit of a Guthrie Govan feel to it me tinks :P
Tom Meakin perhaps it's the other way around ;)
