For adding strength to that pvc the fiberglass poles for fishing wire through walls take a few pieces and tape them together to fill up the inside of the pvc pipe then epoxy them in place the will still allow for flex but but make the pvc pipe more ridged for durability in a stronger current
You can take a little flex out of the poles by temporarily capping them off and filling them with expanding foam. The mix and pour kind…..not the spray. Mix and pour just a bit at a time until it is full…….or it may mess up your pvc tube. Adds about 15 to 20 percent more stiffness……
Definitely going to be doing this on my build. Only thing I think I would change is using amsteel cord instead of 550. It is a little more expensive though.
Hi. Great work on your boat. How deep do you think the poles work effectively? I run a 16' jon boat with a trolling motor in amongst the cypress trees on the lake I live on. Trying to fish and raise and lower an anchor gets really tedious and the breeze blows the boat around too much to just drift. We are generally in 6 to 10 feet of water. Thanks
Put a torch on top may be? If you stop the boat at night, it can double as the tail light. Afterall, the box is big, big enough to hide a road construction yellow flashlight
In the first clip you added that aluminum plate to the transom to mount the motor on. Could someone elaborate on that a bit.. (what is it, why would you do it) Please
If you are fishing in a river with motherly fast moving water use cotton rope because nylon stretches. If the anchor gets hung it can and will sink your boat in a matter of seconds. If you are fishing fast water keep a knife real close just in case you need it! Been There and Done That! Just wanted you to know that and not do what I did. DT Ephesians 3:20
should hook it up to a minnkota powered anchor system with a remote and they could be automatic and u could mount it in the back just use the remote to pull the poles up.
I like this idea a lot! Have you tried using the plastic 3/8" water line for conduit? Thinking of going small since I would run under the ribs. Just not sure if that water hose would cause binding or not.
Heavy stainless steel wire bent into an eyelet, twisted around a few times, shoved inside of a tall soda/beer/energy drink can full of cement, then allowed to dry. Add clothes rope tied to the eyelet or to a disconnect clasp. Repeat as desired. Throw, or slide, cement anchors down in the water. Fish.
It looks sweet! I've recently picked up three boats I am going to fix up. I've checked out a lot of your amazon affiliate links. If you find the time to update all your top picks I think that could go a long way. Some of the items are not even available on their anymore. Keep it up man!
I was thinking you could add weight to the poles by putting a couple feet of rebar in the tips of them. So they slide better and have more penetration. Looks good though!
So I'm watching you video I like it but I'm not really an anchor guy but I'll tell you this I would love to have that Jack Plate system setup that's a 100% sweet!!!!
A little more detail on how they work. For instance how do you raise and lower them. The control end of the project. I get showing the boxes and pullies part with the PVC pipe and all, but you showed absolutely nothing on how you make them work! Would love to make a set for my boat. Okay I have gotten a couple of replies on this. Maybe I should be more clear. Is the PVC pipe weighted or something? Because just the pure weight of a pvc pipe isn't enough to go down and hold the boat in place. Yes he did show all the pullies and the cord you pull to retract them from the down position. But how could PVC pipe alone be enough to hold in place?
He showed exactly how they work. They function off gravity. You use the pull rope that runs through a series of 3 pulleys and a length of conduit to keep the rope from binding when raising the poles and to lower them. I would imagine to hold them up you tie off your pull rope to a boat cleat which should already be installed on the front of the boat
@@dan776 okay but is the pole weighted or something? Surely just the weight of the PVC pipe isn't enough to keep it in place when in the down position?
@@TinyBoatNation I have a 2019 25 hp all manual on a 14ft skiff seems to be very reliable and good on gas good out the hole but no top speed only about 25 knots

Hey guys, I run a 2019 Suzuki 9.9 hp, I have 10 hp restricted lakes near me. I converted the 9.9 to 20 hp. It’s on a 1648 monarch Jon boat. It run 25 mph. It’s funny watching the people stair at you running up and down the lake. Lol
How does it get down pressure? Im not seeing the benefit of this over a stick in anchor and a hoop. Pulling that string looks like more trouble than just pushing down a pole. I just went eith a micro power pole. The only reason was the remote anchor feature. Now i can shave 30 seconds off stop to cast routine. Also much more comfortable than running to the bsck and fumbling with that stick it
@@TinyBoatNation im not even considering aesthetics. I use a gheenoe so my floor/gunwhale spare is small and understand the budget stuff. I dont understand how that design create downward force to maintain anchor. Does it just fall and rope pulls up?
Your creativity is on another level
Nice build. You could use a small bulkhead for the slide point

Amazing job buds. Cheers from Ontario Canada. Beautiful deck on the boat as well.
Wow I need this on my 3 John boats
Great build man. Thanks for sharing it all
Do you have a parts list? And rough dimensions? Definitely gonna build a set
Ever consider selling them? Great build.

Man that's an awesome boat.. I'm an LED light guy and your boat looks sick.. cant wait to get my boat like that..

Rubber gromets for rope to run through would work great they look like bong gromets
Brilliant
Love it best thing ever love your boat
Dude u gone cause me to loose my mind lol u got to many good ideas
Time to buy a Tig brother 👍
Super helpful. Thanks
7/64 amsteel rope may work better, its slick and glides well, floats, won't rot, UV stable and super strong.
Do you have a video of the poles coming up

Can you make a video.. Micro anchor vs power pole, pros and cons.. how to determine which is best for you..
Please put this kit on your website
Did I miss the part on how you activate them?
Yes

What is your opinion on fishing jet ski setup

Amazon right now is focused on medical and home items due to the pandemic and honestly fishing stuff should be getting prime delivery.
Is there plans for this build somewhere? I really want to build this
Nope, just what you see here.
You should make it when you pull the strings it drives the poles down?
This is my question as well.......
What seats the pole into the bottom? Gravity?
What did you do at the front to hold the poles up when theyre not being used?
