seeing you starting to know the members by name and face (and being able to tell them apart) makes me seriously so happy, thanks for your hard work and genuine appreciation towards BTS’ lyricism and production!
@@KnoxHill hwy knox big fan you should next react to hero by chad kroeger irs for the movie spider man and its juat a great song hopefullt yoi have a great day
The “save me” sign can be turned upside down, in which it says “I’m fine” So when one member was saying to “save me”, the other member read it as “I’m fine” which is sad. Their song save me has an iconic Intro, and their song I’m fine has the same intro, which is super cool
Good comment. If you think about it, when a person is in pain they may tell others “ I’m fine” when really they desperately need help, need to be saved.
@@vindric8330 in a performance in front of other idols (I don’t remember which one), they showed the save me sign, and it turned slowly upside down to I’m fine. Everyone cheered and I remembered there was this one girl confused, so the person next to her had to explain it
You paying attention to everything: song, lyrics, vocals, mv, meanings, and just EVERYTHING is why I definitely love your channel!!! You are so amazing I can’t 😭 Thank you so much for this reaction videos!! I hope you’ll keep on reacting to BTS. Their songs are all masterpieces 💯💯💯
@@KnoxHill awesome! So excited to see more. They have such amazing songs. They doing online concert Oct 24. They doing LA concerts Nov and Dec hope u can go and see them.
This isn’t a break up song, although most people think it is. Fake Love is about it loosing yourself due to trying to please another person/people (not necessarily a lover). The song is part of ‘Love Yourself’ albums. When it comes to BTS, you should keep an open mind. Love exists not only between couples btw. There are also family, friends, fans, and yourself. The meaning of this song is when you love someone, you try to please them. You do things, which you usually don’t, and behave just like you think you’re supposed to but not like you want to. You lose you’re self in this love, becoming someone else, and ask that person in the mirror “who are you?” Is this true love when you have to pretend just to please someone, when y oh forget about the real yourself? No, it’s fake love. And there is an answer: before loving someone else, learn how to love yourself. Right after Fake Love in the ‘Love Yourself: Tear’ album, BTS released “Epiphany” (I’m the one I should love) and “IDOL” (You can’t stop me loving myself) in the ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ album. (Comment from another army! Thanks army for this thoughtful explanation)
Music is up for interpretation. ALWAYS up for interpretation. This could be a break up song. To someone whom interprets it that way. It can be about yourself and losing your true personality. To some people. It could be about changing yourself for something you thought you wanted, but realize that isn't what was truly for you. And now you've changed. Interpretation is EVERYTHING. And everyone interprets differently
@@emopandamonium24 lol I guess you’re right, but they were explaining the way Namjoon described it to someone without context. But yes! Music is art, with different Interpretations.
Yes, it's all about how we change our selves to become someone different for those around us, putting on a different persona, losing ourselves to become someone different, all to realise that in the end, everything, all our fake friends, people who claimed to be there for you, was FAKE. the moral is pretty much to be yourself and love yourself, don't change yourself, because love from other people can be FAKE and it can destroy.
This is the literal interpretation but the reason they make these videos like this with songs without specifying is so others outside of the bts world can connect to them through the relatable lyrics and how they interpret them… this absolutely can be about a breakup and it’s important to listen through the ears of someone who doesn’t know the storyline…. Bc his interpretation is right for him and we shouldn’t be telling ppl they’re wrong… that’s not what bts would want
I honestly want Knox to react to the whole Bts universe that starts with “I NEED U” and see what he comes up with because Knox is very smart, but only if he wants to of course:)
@@KnoxHill Love being a part of this community and having someone as talented as you help show BTS’ true artistry and lyricism. It says a lot about you that you make your own mind up about them instead of just assuming the worst or being prejudiced like so many are. You are in for a journey with the BU! Be wary that some original content won’t have subs so it’s best to search for the vid with subs. ARMY will provide the right links. Thank you Knox! We’re a very loyal bunch so we got your back 🙌
If you are ever, somehow, in the same room as BTS, it'll result in a better conversation about their music/music in general than the vast majority of the interviews they've sat through. You just ... GET them, man.
Okay... so there is an entire fictional universe story line that runs through a lot, but not all, BTS songs/MVs and THIS ONE is VERY BANGTAN UNIVERSE. The songs can all be enjoyed without delving into the storyline (BU), but just know that there are A LOT of imagery and lyrics that may seem out of place without that context, ie. the Snickers. There is an element of fear/past for each member in this one and eventually you'll start to notice repeat themes with specific members throughout multiple MVs, such as Fire, Water, train boxcars... If you ever WANT to delve into the BU, let us know and we can set you on the path or you can watch an explanation of the BU by Xceleste, otherwise, just enjoy the music, voices, and visuals. :) FYI, there is an extended version of this song/MV as well.
@@KnoxHill Here is a link to the videos in order... there are A LOT! I recommend watching them BEFORE an explanation video if you don't like spoilers... you have a damn good head for figuring out what BTS intend so you might want to try to figure it out on your own first then watch an explanation to verify. :) www.elitedaily.com/p/heres-every-bts-video-thats-in-the-bangtan-universe-so-you-can-catch-up-22618079

*i've never seen anyone react to BTS MV's in a better way. you analyze everything. the lyrics as well as the MV. wish more people would have an open mind like you*
I think it's really cool how you didn't know the BU exists (their fictional story line others have mentioned) but clever enough to know you were "missing something" with the snickers, etc. And also how a lot of the symbolism you spotted was in line with the fictional story line without you even knowing! It would be awesome if you delved into the BU but do be aware it's big and DEEP (and involves time travel!) ;)
the mv is related to Bangtan Universe storyline which consists of dozens mvs in particular order talking more generally about Fake Love MV's symbolism, i personally think they are all in the same building, but each trapped in their own rooms with their fears and traumas (fictional!), with no escape (jungkook's fear in particular here is to be unable to reach any of them). in the trailer everyone had a trauma related object that they gave away at the magic shop (psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude), also extended version had masks to cover their faces which you can see in the room under the waterfall that jungkook opens - it's your hidden self, your shadow, your demons you have to face. so all in all it's something about the pain of the path to your true self
You man are seriously a full package of a reactor: smart, funny, passionate and knowledgeable. I love when you dive into songs like this one. Keep up the great work, Knox! I’ve loved your journey through BTS so far! 💜🦄
Knox's reaction whenever Yoongi appears gives me life and it's the most relatable thing. We stan a Yoongi fanboy. Also, the way he just breaks down everything so precisely and dedicatedly... I absolutely love watching these types of videos not only for the really thorough analysis, but for the appreciation towards BTS. That is lovely.
‼️ SUGA's remix of Coldplay X BTS - "My Universe" has been released! ‼️ Coldplay shared on twitter: "We’re so grateful to SUGA for this glorious remix. A BRILLIANT producer on top of everything else ⚡️⚡️⚡️" SUGA was trending under 3 different names (Agust D, Min Yoongi, SUGA)
I ADORE your breakdowns of BTS. It’s fantastic to hear someone with intelligence think through the meanings of the lyrics and visuals. I’ve stayed away (sort of 🙄) from the BU cause I don’t have time for the deep dive into that rabbit hole but Fake Love and I Need U are always in my top 5 BTS songs. Thanks for your thoughtful reactions to BTS! 💜
I would like to compliment you on your astute breakdown of this piece. There is a third background, the Bangtan Universe (BU) that has fictitious backgrounds for each character (JHope was deserted at a carnival by his mother. She left him a candy bar for food. Jimin commits suicide by drowning, Suga commits suicide by burning his piano and himself, to death. Jin is in a time loop working to save everyone). However, you took things another way, where this also represents each member’s survival as part of BTS in the face of the fans’s adulation, which I think actually explains this all the way to the bottom. On the ending scene, where Jin enters with the hooded figure, the figure represents the hidden, shadowed part of Jin himself (Carl Jung’s theory of the mind). Wow! Great job!
@@helenscott8202 I think they mean, in your comment you put ‘Jin enters with the hooded figure’ at the end but that’s actually Jungkook entering the room, not Jin 😊💜
@@helenscott8202 Yup, it's JK, and it's not a figure, it's an actual hood and mask hanging on a coat rack. It's what they wear during the Fake Love live performances, but I believe is supposed to represent the masks they wear in specific situations to hide their true selves.
Your ability & willingness to see BTS & their creative team as artists, without any irony or winks to your longtime subscribers, and the way that you discern and genuinely enjoy discovering the layers of meaning they weave into their work, is so fcking refreshing. Thank you.
Rewatching this because you’re just incredible 😅🙌 Funny because someone online recently said to me ‘why be one of those kpop fans who only likes BTS’, and the more I thought about that I realised, the reason I like them is actually because they aren’t typical kpop, they’re not manufactured like a lot are or just create the same sounding music with flashy mvs. Aswell as their humility and vulnerability, their personalities etc. And you’re helping us show that! The fact that BTS make most of their music is in itself unusual in that industry (I know others do aswell). I have tried other groups with an open mind and some I do like and listen to casually, but I can’t find that connection and interest like I do with BTS. And that’s okay with me, it’s just my preference. Thanks for using your platform to shine a light on their artistry Knox! I think you will enjoy the BU and all the non-BU songs too 💜
You made a comment saying that you think there's some more background info that isn't exactly told in the music video, and you were correct. Fake Love has very subtle nods to what BTS's 'characters' go through in the Bangtan Universe, which is a story that spans several of their early music videos. So, the symbolism (for example the circus imagery in j-hope's room) wouldn't make total sense unless you're aware of that storyline. But you picked up on it anyway, which is just crazy. I love these reactions, I'm always amazed at how much you pick up with just one look.
just rewatched Burn The Stage today and the words that go along well with this reaction are RM's words about himself" "Actually the man called Kim Namjoon... likes to enjoy nature and walk around on his own. He likes to meet his friends and have a drink together. I didn't have enough time to live as Kim Namjoon" and that was just 2017
Mate. You are so epic. Like others have said, there’s the BU but their albums also have themes and tie in to different psychological concepts (e.g. Carl Jung). I really think you should do an album breakdown in a live. I love all their albums but I think Map Of The Soul 7 will be great for you to work through. There’s so much to dig into with that album 👏
Big brain Knox is back!! You surprise me every time when you analyse their songs and MV‘s - I love it!! And I love that you start to know all their names 💜 When you said „Don’t think that we missed the sand in the glass!“ - damn, you notice everything, I was so happy you saw that :D And don’t be sorry for not speaking Korean, you’re doing great!
With how much you love Suga you should check out ‘First Love’. It had been awhile since I’d listened to it but I played it today and thought, “Man Knox really needs to react to this one!” The writing is so good and he doesn’t hold back with the emotional delivery in that song. Gives me chills every time
each room that the members are in has significance to aspects of their (fictionalized) characters in the Bangtan Universe! Jin = flowers, windows RM = shipping containers, mirrors V = phones, the Save Me graffiti (which reads I’m Fine if you flip it upside down) JHope = carousels, Snickers Jimin = water Suga = Fire, pianos And as of the latest update of the story (Notes 2) Jungkook is emotionally isolated and separate from the others. (I won’t get into all the reasons why those elements are associated with each member/character bc that would be…….an essay)
Actually imagine if you went full time...everyone else would be out of a job 😂 Seriously love your thoughts and analysis on every breakdown you do, and you're in all my Spotify playlists! Never change Knox 👏
An exceedingly perceptive reaction. Most likely the most thorough I have seen. Very impressive. Your tying much to Jungkook was outstanding. At least in my estimation, the man in the robe and mask Jungkook meets in the blown out room, with the six coat stands and the changed color filtration, actually is Jungkook meeting a part of himself he previously was not in touch with. Could fake love be with one's Persona as well? And yes there are more layers.
I've seen a lot of comments on the BU and I'm really thankful for these because while watching this reaction I was getting myself prepared to type out a whole essay on the topic, but glad I didn't have to :) So like you might already have noticed, there is something called the BTS Universe, which is linked to a lot of BTS MV's (Fake Love being one of them). Basically it's kind of like the Marvel Universe, but then with BTS members each portraying a different role. The BU was first introduced back in 2014 when their 'The Most Beautiful Moment In Life' era started and has continued throughout the years. The storyline was mostly unveiled through MV's and short films (ARMYs back then really broke their brains on all the ongoing theories whenever something new was released lol) You can dive into this universe all on your own by watching the BU related videos (however these aren't all MV's, so there'll be no musical aspect to react to). On the other hand you can also take the easier route and read the official webtoon that was published back in 2018, this webtoon called 'Save Me' contains the whole BU storyline. I personally got a lot of clearance regarding the BU after reading the webtoon so I could look back on certain videos and be like 'ah yes I can see the references now', however with your brain I wouldn't be all too concerned about this (I just thought it was worth mentioning just in case). Then lastly, if you really get stuck, there are plenty of explanations online, although I figured this might not be as fun as deciphering stuff yourself (we all know you're amazing at it ;) I feel like I've ranted enough about the BU now, so I just wanted to take some time saying how amazing you and your breakdowns are!! You won't find many reactors like that nowadays, I really appreciate your honesty and ability to look at the meaning behind a song and MV! Also thank you as always for being open-minded and giving BTS a chance (I've been a quite long time follower now, but I'm still very glad you decided to react to Mic Drop about 8 months ago, it's been a great journey so far and I am excited to see where it goes now that we've unlocked the BU chapter =) One last fun fact: at 20:09 the writing behind V says 'Save Me', however when turned upside down it will read 'I'm Fine'. (This probably reflects on the BU as well as this being the names of two of their songs) When watching other MV's you'll notice there are more of these upside-down wordplays so keep an eye out! Yee I'm really signing of now, hope this was helpful and didn't waste your time too much :p
I'll just stop a little and say that as an ARMY, I want to give you a round of applause in appreciation for trying to get to know each of the members by name, face and their unique talent as individual.👏👏👏As part of the fandom I can tell you that we really appreciate that man. Keep it up, I love your reactions as well as the content you drop for us to enjoy.
Any ARMY lingering here who are watching the concert today! I just watched Soundcheck and we are NOT PREPARED! It’s going to be amazing! See you all in a few hours! Fighting 💜💜
Love your uncontrolled smile when every new beat hits! 🤩 As lots of people have pointed out this is one of the crowning jewels in the BTS universe series, several years of connected music videos where they play characters of themselves. Each persona is connected with a specific symbol and a fictional tragic backstory. Later the BigHit released an official storyline as part of a CD jacket and as a web tune, but for years, the mvs spawned tin foil hat level theories of people trying to scrape together connections across the videos… (not that I would know anything about that 😅) Each stands by itself but as you immediately picked up on there’s a lot of depth by the collective connections. The whole series is also a very entertaining watch and you’ll see several of the same images related to specific story points come up over and over again: Jhope: snickers/pills Suga: burning piano Rm: pen paper/tattoo gun/lollipop Jin: flower and camera Jimin: water V: (The boy who jumped) phone calls Jungkook: cast as the one who can see all of the others and spends a lot of time running 😆 Check out JHopes incredible rap/dance solo Boy Meets Evil for an early entry into this catalog that’s also just stunning rap. Really beautiful breakdown.
This breakdown remains one of the best on yt. ARMY if you aren't subscribed to Knox, you really should be. He's so genuine, intelligent and respectful. I revisit his vids a lot.
The best is when a smart and talented person reviews intelligent and talented artists. Love = 4 aspects, Philos, Eros, Ethos and Pathos. Without these or if they are mis weighted true love can't exist. Agape is the term for the unconditional and unconscious expression of the four elements equally. Stay well
This song has content for the Bangtan Universe (BU). J Hopes storyline has to do with a memory. Each member in this has a traumatic memory they are dealing with for their BU characters. I love your breakdown of the video and lyrics. Their is a teaser to this song and an extended version that might help you with the meanings, or create more questions. This song is from the Love Yourself: Tear album, when love falls apart. I will link the love yourself highlight reels and the teaser and extended version. You can choose whether or not you want to react to it. I only included these three, and it will not give you the full BU story, but it will give you more insight into the storyline and how it relates to Fake Love. *TURN ON CLOSED CAPTIONS OR YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND* BTS Love Yourself Highlight Reel w/Eng subs - ua-cam.com/video/EHdK5U2hf4o/v-deo.html Fake Love (BU) Teaser 1 - ua-cam.com/video/BP71K87Hp5Y/v-deo.html Fake Love (Extended Version) (BU) - ua-cam.com/video/D_6QmL6rExk/v-deo.html
I don’t usually subscribe to YT channels; I’m a bit too old for that, but you are one of 2 I subscribe to. That is because I feel genuine interest in exploring the artistry of what is being presented. Be it the music when I learn something new very often, something I missed (it reminds me of RM’s wish that their music be listened to often for new discoveries), or their lyricism and poetry, or for the direction and production of their MV… (And when I hear your enthusiasm, I keep getting frustrated that awards for best MV are not earned due to the pettiness of the world *sigh*) As many have mentioned, I believe you would love the ‘behind’ story line that ties many of their MVs; it’s the deep dive that grabbed me and made me realise I would be in this for life. I have never been an actual ‘fan’ of the many artists I have loved so far in my life, but it did change for these 7 artists with such a powerful message… Thank you for being a genuine reactor in a world of fake loves 💜
bro fake love is genuinely one of the most beautiful songs ive ever seen. the lyrics are absolutely insane they make me tear up every single time. "i wish love was as perfect as love itself"???? "i grew a flower that can't be bloomed in a dream that can't come true"????? MAN........ and I'm sure you've heard this being said enough times, but ive never seen someone interpret fake love so well. this is amazing.
I was so excited for this that I watched it twice, tweeted about it but forgot to comment 🤦♀️ Knox you are THE man! You picked out so much detail too. You’re gunna enjoy the BU! Thank you so much 💜
I love how your eyes light up as you explore the meanings behind the MV, the music, the lyricism and everything that are BTS and their craft. There is wonder in your eyes and I could see your real appreciation for the boys and their artistry. Somehow I could feel that you are not in this to gain subscriptions and clout but you truly love what you do. Much love from a Bangtan fan
💯 % agree with you Knox..in the surface this song is about lover relationship but in deeper meaning it's about relationship between BTS and fans/army...well that's just my thought 😁 We all know how hard it is being an Idol (especially korean Idol)..
Thank you so much, Knox. I love your Bts, Eminem and Twentyonepilots reactions...you're so intelligent and caring for the details... We appreciate u man!
I am absolutely blown away by how much you really accurately took from this video, even recognizing when areas are more important but you don't have the context for their significance. An excellent job for one of my favorite songs!
Thank you so much for your reaction ❤️ as always you always dive deep into their lyricism and production, we love you for that! I already read that you want to delve into the BU, so here's a BU starterpack for you: *Youth or HYYH Era:* -I Need U (Original ver.) [MV] -HYYH ON STAGE: Prologue [video] -Run [MV] -I Need U (Japanese ver.) [MV but you can skip this ones, it's mainly a choreo MV] -Run (Japanese ver.) [MV but you can skip] -Epilogue: Young Forever [MV] *Wings Era:* -Boy Meets Evil [short MV, I wouldn't consider this BU but it's a nice introduction to the short films] -Short Films: #1 Jungkook's BEGIN [video but there's a song by the same name that you can react to] #2 Jimin's LIE [video + song] #3 V's STIGMA [video + song] #4 Suga's FIRST LOVE [video + song] #5 RM's REFLECTION [video + song] #6 J-Hope's MAMA [video + song] #7 Jin's AWAKE [video + song] - Blood Sweat and Tears (Japanese ver. since you reacted to the Korean ver) [MV] *Love Yourself Era:* -LY Highlight Reel [video or short movie rather lol] -Theme of Love Yourself: Wonder - Euphoria [MV] -Fake Love (Ext ver.) [MV but you can skip] -LY Answer Comeback Trailer: Epiphany [MV] -Film Out [MV] Since you noticed the SAVE ME written behind V towards the end of the MV, I wanna point out that if you flip that sign upside down, it'll say "I'm fine" instead and for that we got twin songs in the discography Save Me & I'm Fine, it would be very interesting to react to these 2 at some point Now, the list above is BU only videos but you can’t miss songs like Fire (HYYH era), Intro: Serendipity, DNA (LY:Her), Intro: Singularity (LY:Tear), etc. Hope you enjoy! 😊 💜
My interpretation is when your love turning into dust(instead of sand)some feel like drowning, some feel like burning everything down, some retreat to other things(chocolate like jh)to recover, some running(jk),some confused&lost (in digital?(v)), some lose themselves so they can keep it(rm) but hopefully you can come to the realizations your love is love after all(not dirt) no matter how imperfect it maybe (because no one is perfect) Overall it says if you change who you are you are just growing a flower in a dream. So a perfect fit in a album called love yourself and until you can love yourself it's all fake love ❤.
i’m sure a lot of ppl have told u how much army appreciate u so much for ur attention in understanding bts’ lyricism and production and i’m here to tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE AND VIBE WITH THE INTRO SONG AAA it’s def went straight to my playlist! You never fail to impress me with your attention to detail and just overall intelligence. I think you'd do so well figuring out their storyline and have a lot of fun doing it. I'd absolutely love to watch you go through it and hear your thoughts
wauw dude you really know what you are talking about, even the little details. That's it Army loves you and we never letting you go 😘💜 The rap line is everything. Omg I really love your explanation I keep saying this but its true. You have a poetic deep soul like RM and I love it.
I just love your reactions. I am so happy that someone sent you the Bangtan Universe to dive into. I think you will really enjoy it. Based on Jungian theories about self and Hermann Hesse’s novel Demian. I can not wait. 😘💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

This is was the first ever KPOP song that I heard and this introduced me to KPOP ... I got to know about a lot of diff kpop songs, my fav songs changed from time to time but Fake Love will never change This is the best KPOP song and my all time favorite Thx for the reaction. Love it 💜
Knox, I love your BTS reactions because you can intelligently analyze the lyrics and the music video. I think what sets Bangtan apart from other Korean Idols and probably artists in the western is that they have incorporated complex, deep yet brilliant "storytelling" in their albums. They don't just come up with album concepts. Their albums are interconnected with each other - think about Star Wars and Marvel Universe. Here's an excerpt from RM's interview with the Rolling Stone magazine: Rap Monster turns to Star Wars to explain the reasoning behind this transition. “Stars Wars came out tens of years ago, but a dad and his son still go to the theater to see [it],” he says. “It’s not just like a five-year or a 10-year thing, you know what I mean? So our company knew that and they always told us about how important it is to make a world like Star Wars or Marvel [did].” BTS understood they’d have to create a legacy, a storyline that would resonate with audiences long after they themselves were gone. Rap Monster explains that before making a music video, the entire group sits down with their label to discuss where the story will go. “There are characters, seven different characters in the videos, so we try to not be so far away from our real characteristics and our real life. We’re always [discussing] our experiences, our hardships and our sadness and that really helps in coming up with the character in the videos.” While the larger concept is crafted by their label Big Hit Entertainment, the boys ensure that their individual stories are communicated as accurately as possible. The BU has been mentioned a lot, but just to give something interesting, that "Save Me" behind Tae is "I'm Fine" upside down and is kinda connected to how their song Save Me, when played backwards, is I'm Fine (I mean the track without lyrics, i dunno what it's called sorry). I'm new to the fandom, but I've known them since around 2015, and I've yet to fully immerse myself in the BU!
I’ve been an Army fan for years and I love watching your reaction videos. BTS is known for so much symbolism and in depth details and meanings to their music. This entire album was huge and it was released in two parts. You’ll notice that in this video it references another song similar to this one called “save me”. To me this song speaks to the illusions we have on conforming who we are as individuals for others. We lose who we are because we are led to believe that we will be happier that way. When I’m reality they only way we can find true love is looking within and allowing our authenticity to come through. This album leads to the journey of the map Of the soul. It speaks to the masks we all wear in life and how we must all learn to face our shadows (aka: fears) of who we think/believe we are based off of what others think. For them it’s being public figures. They wear masks a persona because they are idols and we as the fans often forget that they only show us what we know them as.
YES! I couldn't wait for you to break this down. This song is so good but the lyrics make you think cuz there's multiple meanings that you could put for this song
Jesus when do you sleep bro 😂😂 This was amazing! I’d also love for you to dig into the BU but fair warning, it’s a deep deep deep rabbit hole and pretty complicated. But if anyone can make it out the other end and understand a lot of it, it’s you! If you’re serious about that then HELL YES because not many embark on the journey ✊
Yo man, great reaction! One of a kind. I’ve been dipping in and out of here for a while and I’ve finally joined and subbed! Polite request if you start on the BU and do more BTS, can you do a separate BTS playlist so we can follow the journey properly? Plus it will help keep all the hardcore kpopers at bay, no negativity allowed! Love the respect ✊
This was my first BTS song that i heard. And the one that made me an Army. Fake Love will always be a treasure 😍😍💜💜 P.S this song is not only about romantic relationships but also any in general whether it be friends or family etc.
This is the kind of reaction that i’m looking for, the attention to details that I didn't even notice it even though I watched it million of times, that shows that you really respect BTS and what they’re doing, and even us as a viewers. Thank you so much I really enjoyed watching your video. I became a subscriber just from one video lol
I take a few days off from the internet and you crank up the content 😂👏 You did incredible with this reaction! Seriously, considering you don’t (yet) follow the BU - I loved it! Go Knox 🔥
i have watched this mv so many times and never noticed that jk was wearing a different color from the rest during the first scenes. wow. you really break down their mvs so good.
You can also understand the lyrics in a way that they are talking to themselves, because let’s be honest you can’t love others fully, if you don’t love yourself. Fake love as in you made yourself someone, who is not really you, but expected to be, wanted to be. In a way that you are not happy, because you lie yourself about who you are really. You tried to love yourself, but it is all fake, because it isn’t the real you, it is the ideal you.
I'm seriously so impressed by how much you got from this, so accurate too, and you could tell that you were missing some things. Even though it's part of a full storyline, you definitely got the overall meaning. I love how you break down the lyrics and visuals. You are definitely an artist and you understand what they are trying to do and communicate. I love your reactions!
Knox Hill is in the different level when it comes to bts reactions. I'm learning so much (despite of being an old ARMY). His reactions is what we deserve 💜
I am constantly amazed how you so amazingly precise in your analysis, you even caught the "fame fake love" also the mv, although it has elements that are connected to the Bangtan Universe storyline, but on itself has tonne of meaning to the song and your u so impeccably caught the elements

So when one member was saying to “save me”, the other member read it as “I’m fine” which is sad. Their song save me has an iconic Intro, and their song I’m fine has the same intro, which is super cool
Good comment. If you think about it, when a person is in pain they may tell others “ I’m fine” when really they desperately need help, need to be saved.

@Spiky Ramen omg hope you’re ok! Know that we’re right here with you army! Always, ok? 💜

If you are ever, somehow, in the same room as BTS, it'll result in a better conversation about their music/music in general than the vast majority of the interviews they've sat through. You just ... GET them, man.
KH x BTS is everything I never knew I needed.
Imagine Knox interviewing them instead of the annoying interviewers bts usually gets in America lol
Okay... so there is an entire fictional universe story line that runs through a lot, but not all, BTS songs/MVs and THIS ONE is VERY BANGTAN UNIVERSE.
Of course I want to delve. Where do we go?! Set me straight

YESSS thank you Knox!! i love your reactions, especially to BTS. thank you and so excited to watch!! 💜
It’s a good one 🙌
I think it's really cool how you didn't know the BU exists (their fictional story line others have mentioned) but clever enough to know you were "missing something" with the snickers, etc. And also how a lot of the symbolism you spotted was in line with the fictional story line without you even knowing! It would be awesome if you delved into the BU but do be aware it's big and DEEP (and involves time travel!) ;)
I been waiting for this for so long 😭😭
Thanks Knox
I promise it’s a good one 🙌
@@KnoxHill it would be good one!!how can't it e..?
the mv is related to Bangtan Universe storyline which consists of dozens mvs in particular order
talking more generally about Fake Love MV's symbolism, i personally think they are all in the same building, but each trapped in their own rooms with their fears and traumas (fictional!), with no escape (jungkook's fear in particular here is to be unable to reach any of them). in the trailer everyone had a trauma related object that they gave away at the magic shop (psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude), also extended version had masks to cover their faces which you can see in the room under the waterfall that jungkook opens - it's your hidden self, your shadow, your demons you have to face. so all in all it's something about the pain of the path to your true self
You man are seriously a full package of a reactor: smart, funny, passionate and knowledgeable. I love when you dive into songs like this one. Keep up the great work, Knox! I’ve loved your journey through BTS so far! 💜🦄

Coldplay shared on twitter: "We’re so grateful to SUGA for this glorious remix. A BRILLIANT producer on top of everything else ⚡️⚡️⚡️"

Wow! Great job!
It's Jungkook at the end meeting his shadow, not Jin.
@@sr_ian why? I know JK is observing eVerything, everyone constantly (not arguing, asking). I still don’t have all of that.
@@taechwita5979 Thanks, my typing got in the way of my mind, or I totally went mindless!
And I love that you start to know all their names 💜
When you said „Don’t think that we missed the sand in the glass!“ - damn, you notice everything, I was so happy you saw that :D
And don’t be sorry for not speaking Korean, you’re doing great!
With how much you love Suga you should check out ‘First Love’. It had been awhile since I’d listened to it but I played it today and thought, “Man Knox really needs to react to this one!” The writing is so good and he doesn’t hold back with the emotional delivery in that song. Gives me chills every time
so excited knox!!! been waiting for this one 🙏
This was crazy! Hope you enjoy the reaction
each room that the members are in has significance to aspects of their (fictionalized) characters in the Bangtan Universe!
Jin = flowers, windows
RM = shipping containers, mirrors
V = phones, the Save Me graffiti (which reads I’m Fine if you flip it upside down)
JHope = carousels, Snickers
Jimin = water
Suga = Fire, pianos
And as of the latest update of the story (Notes 2) Jungkook is emotionally isolated and separate from the others.
Every time you said “hourglass” or “the sands of time” I wanted to scream (in a good way) bc you don’t even realize how accurate you are
15:36 That's the reaction of all rap fans when Suga come in
An exceedingly perceptive reaction.
The storyline was mostly unveiled through MV's and short films (ARMYs back then really broke their brains on all the ongoing theories whenever something new was released lol)
You can dive into this universe all on your own by watching the BU related videos (however these aren't all MV's, so there'll be no musical aspect to react to). Then lastly, if you really get stuck, there are plenty of explanations online, although I figured this might not be as fun as deciphering stuff yourself (we all know you're amazing at it ;)
I feel like I've ranted enough about the BU now, so I just wanted to take some time saying how amazing you and your breakdowns are!! You won't find many reactors like that nowadays, I really appreciate your honesty and ability to look at the meaning behind a song and MV! Also thank you as always for being open-minded and giving BTS a chance (I've been a quite long time follower now, but I'm still very glad you decided to react to Mic Drop about 8 months ago, it's been a great journey so far and I am excited to see where it goes now that we've unlocked the BU chapter =)
One last fun fact: at 20:09 the writing behind V says 'Save Me', however when turned upside down it will read 'I'm Fine'.
As lots of people have pointed out this is one of the crowning jewels in the BTS universe series, several years of connected music videos where they play characters of themselves. Each persona is connected with a specific symbol and a fictional tragic backstory. Later the BigHit released an official storyline as part of a CD jacket and as a web tune, but for years, the mvs spawned tin foil hat level theories of people trying to scrape together connections across the videos… (not that I would know anything about that 😅)
Each stands by itself but as you immediately picked up on there’s a lot of depth by the collective connections. The whole series is also a very entertaining watch and you’ll see several of the same images related to specific story points come up over and over again:
Jhope: snickers/pills
Suga: burning piano
Rm: pen paper/tattoo gun/lollipop
Jin: flower and camera
Jimin: water
V: (The boy who jumped) phone calls
Jungkook: cast as the one who can see all of the others and spends a lot of time running 😆
Check out JHopes incredible rap/dance solo Boy Meets Evil for an early entry into this catalog that’s also just stunning rap.

Knox Hill you’re an alien 🤯
The flower and the curtains are really significant. You’re on this!
I don’t usually subscribe to YT channels; I’m a bit too old for that, but you are one of 2 I subscribe to. That is because I feel genuine interest in exploring the artistry of what is being presented. Be it the music when I learn something new very often, something I missed (it reminds me of RM’s wish that their music be listened to often for new discoveries), or their lyricism and poetry, or for the direction and production of their MV…
(And when I hear your enthusiasm, I keep getting frustrated that awards for best MV are not earned due to the pettiness of the world *sigh*)
As many have mentioned, I believe you would love the ‘behind’ story line that ties many of their MVs; it’s the deep dive that grabbed me and made me realise I would be in this for life. I have never been an actual ‘fan’ of the many artists I have loved so far in my life, but it did change for these 7 artists with such a powerful message…
Thank you for being a genuine reactor in a world of fake loves 💜

I already read that you want to delve into the BU, so here's a BU starterpack for you:
*Youth or HYYH Era:*
-I Need U (Original ver.) [MV]
-HYYH ON STAGE: Prologue [video]
-Run [MV]
-I Need U (Japanese ver.) [MV but you can skip this ones, it's mainly a choreo MV]
-Run (Japanese ver.) [MV but you can skip]
-Epilogue: Young Forever [MV]
*Wings Era:*
-Boy Meets Evil [short MV, I wouldn't consider this BU but it's a nice introduction to the short films]
-Short Films:
#1 Jungkook's BEGIN [video but there's a song by the same name that you can react to]
#2 Jimin's LIE [video + song]
#3 V's STIGMA [video + song]
#4 Suga's FIRST LOVE [video + song]
#5 RM's REFLECTION [video + song]
#6 J-Hope's MAMA [video + song]
#7 Jin's AWAKE [video + song]
- Blood Sweat and Tears (Japanese ver. since you reacted to the Korean ver) [MV]
*Love Yourself Era:*
-LY Highlight Reel [video or short movie rather lol]
-Theme of Love Yourself: Wonder - Euphoria [MV]
-Fake Love (Ext ver.) [MV but you can skip]
-LY Answer Comeback Trailer: Epiphany [MV]
-Film Out [MV]
Since you noticed the SAVE ME written behind V towards the end of the MV, I wanna point out that if you flip that sign upside down, it'll say "I'm fine" instead and for that we got twin songs in the discography Save Me & I'm Fine, it would be very interesting to react to these 2 at some point
Now, the list above is BU only videos but you can’t miss songs like Fire (HYYH era), Intro: Serendipity, DNA (LY:Her), Intro: Singularity (LY:Tear), etc.
Hope you enjoy! 😊 💜

knox reaction when suga started rapping was priceless lol
yoongi is my bias so i can relate
My interpretation is when your love turning into dust(instead of sand)some feel like drowning, some feel like burning everything down, some retreat to other things(chocolate like jh)to recover, some running(jk),some confused&lost (in digital?(v)), some lose themselves so they can keep it(rm) but hopefully you can come to the realizations your love is love after all(not dirt) no matter how imperfect it maybe (because no one is perfect)
Overall it says if you change who you are you are just growing a flower in a dream. So a perfect fit in a album called love yourself and until you can love yourself it's all fake love ❤.

You never fail to impress me with your attention to detail and just overall intelligence. I think you'd do so well figuring out their storyline and have a lot of fun doing it. I'd absolutely love to watch you go through it and hear your thoughts
Wow! Your analysis on this video is so on point. I love that you call out Suga name. I’m like that whenever his verse comes up. Suga bias here.
wauw dude you really know what you are talking about, even the little details.
I'm always amazed how fast you can decipher the meaning of their songs.. You know that their songs have deeper meaning and seeing you enjoying to unravel them makes me think you are genuine in liking them.. You got a new subscriber here.. :D
(ive been watching your music and bts reactions for quite sometime now and it's time for me to subscribe. :) )
This is was the first ever KPOP song that I heard and this introduced me to KPOP ... I got to know about a lot of diff kpop songs, my fav songs changed from time to time but Fake Love will never change
This is the best KPOP song and my all time favorite
Thx for the reaction. Love it 💜
Knox, I love your BTS reactions because you can intelligently analyze the lyrics and the music video.
I think what sets Bangtan apart from other Korean Idols and probably artists in the western is that they have incorporated complex, deep yet brilliant "storytelling" in their albums. They don't just come up with album concepts. Their albums are interconnected with each other - think about Star Wars and Marvel Universe.
Here's an excerpt from RM's interview with the Rolling Stone magazine:
Rap Monster turns to Star Wars to explain the reasoning behind this transition. “Stars Wars came out tens of years ago, but a dad and his son still go to the theater to see [it],” he says. “It’s not just like a five-year or a 10-year thing, you know what I mean? So our company knew that and they always told us about how important it is to make a world like Star Wars or Marvel [did].”
BTS understood they’d have to create a legacy, a storyline that would resonate with audiences long after they themselves were gone.

This is why I like u knox, your comments is always on point.. Great job man.. 👏👏👏
Your break down of BTS MVs are the best Professor Knox. Your brain is so cool!
Bro, you are really good at breaking these down!
I think there’s an extended version of this video.
I think this is my new fav song by BTS. BTS does what it wants. Stoked.
Bro, i missed you😭
You are officially one of my favorite youtubers now.
This album leads to the journey of the map
Of the soul.
Omg.. Knowing u say their name make me surprises and feel good..and hearing u explain all this make me a gooseboome! Damn! U re insane!
I love watching thoughtful and insightful people react to this - there's the blind panic of "what--where....how do I even start with this?!"
Love the respect ✊
upside down "save me" is "i'm fine" try it
they also have two songs Save Me and I'm Fine, the lyric of which are mirrored in one of the verses
This was my first BTS song that i heard. And the one that made me an Army. Fake Love will always be a treasure 😍😍💜💜
P.S this song is not only about romantic relationships but also any in general whether it be friends or family etc.
Go Knox 🔥
Man, loved your breakdown from loving you to loving myself. Thank-you Knox
Yo Knox, I really love your breakdown!!!!
Thank you!!🙌🏻
i have watched this mv so many times and never noticed that jk was wearing a different color from the rest during the first scenes. wow. you really break down their mvs so good.
Knox can break down music faster than i can HAVE an actual breakdown
I think you would really appreciate Fake Love’s demo done by Namjoon/RM!
Omg you're literally the first UA-cam reactor who got this MV and it's depth!! This is a masterpiece you should check the extended version too!
"why not? let's just change the genre again, it's BTS they do what they want" LMAO SENT ME!!!
I love your reactions!
i heard bang pd and rm wrote this song when when the fame was growing so drastically, it was becoming overwhelming and scary and questionable
Knox Hill is in the different level when it comes to bts reactions. I'm learning so much (despite of being an old ARMY). His reactions is what we deserve 💜
You started to recognise them...😀
this song for sure is my favorite of BTS, the mv concept, the lyrics, the guitar, the rap... everything is so good
YESSS EARLY LET'S GOOOOO
🙌🖤
I am constantly amazed how you so amazingly precise in your analysis, you even caught the "fame fake love" also the mv, although it has elements that are connected to the Bangtan Universe storyline, but on itself has tonne of meaning to the song and your u so impeccably caught the elements
