During a visit to Europe in 1979 I fell in love with the absolute beauty of the Cotswolds. While driving slowly in the early misty morning on very narrow roadways bordered by hedges, you’d round a curve only to find yourself behind beautiful horses being ridden by people on old fashioned saddles wearing old fashioned jodhpurs. It was an exquisite place with huge manor homes with peat/turf roofs enclosed by large stone fences. I’d never heard of the Cotswolds before but I’ll never forget them.
I loved this dig, as usual. You are my favorite channel.

An old joke written sometime between 63 B.C. and 14 B.C. went like this. "The emperor Augustus was touring the empire when he saw a man who bore a striking resemblance to himself. Intrigued he asked the man if his mother was ever in service at the palace. "No your highness", the man answered, "but my father was."

Another Roman joke: A man walks into a bar and another patron calls out his name to join his table and says to the new comer, "I heard you were dead!" The new comer replies, "Whoever told you that is not a reliable source," to which the first man said, "He's more reliable than you".

I wish somehow, someway Time team would allow my son and I could join them. It would save our lives. It would get my life straight and get my son back to his first love: nature and digging in the ground. I am a filmmaker but should have been an archeaologist. Now we have nothing, poor and falling in to a death spiral. My son spends all his time inside and in front of a screen. His spirit is drad. My spirit is dead. Sucide is a very attractive option. Oh how i wish we could dig for time team. But it won't happen.

I prayed for you tonight. The Lord Jesus is the only one who can give you true hope and purpose. I encourage you to read the gospel of John in the Bible and find a Bible believing church. Sin has separated us from God. We deserve death, but in mercy God sent His Son Jesus to pay the penalty for us on the cross. Jesus rose again on the third day proving His divinity and His power over death. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved! Courage, my fellow man! I have experienced the grace of God and have peace in Him. Whosoever will may come.

I had that problem with my son.. A year ago I decided I would put a veggie garden in the backyard due to the cost of living at the supermarket.. I got Bunnings to drop me off some veggie garden metal beds and started on it and then he said "mum, your not doing it right". So I said to him "you do it, see if you can do any better" Lo and behold we have capsicums, shallotts, basil, rosemary, parsley etc. that he's grown which a lot of the time he has turned into Asian stir-frys, salads etc and roasted Mediterranean veggies. He's turned into quite a budding chef. Amazing what a bit of psychology can do and a bit of encouragement. Start a project in the garden, new flower beds, veggie garden,. Walkways, pergola to grow climbing flowering vines. Grapevine,, passionfruit vine, something to sit under and have a meal from your veggie garden with a glass of wine when everything gets too much because that's what I do. It soothes the spirit. Most of all you must ask for his help and that's the important part otherwise it won't work. P.s. pergola got done as well. I threatened I was going to do dig four holes for the posts myself and was told I wasn't digging the holes right so I said you better do it. Unbelievable. Gardens do two things for us humans, feed the stomach and feed the soul and our cat and dog love our garden too. Also, get yourself some gardening videos or tune into some garden shows on t.v.and when your son sees you watching them you can tell him your looking for ideas for the yard. If you live in a flat with a balcony youu can always grow lettuces and tomatoes, shallotts, capsicum, herbs etc. In pots. I never miss a good gardening show on tv
