@Medora: I think it’s because PBS Kids, much like Ion Media’s QUBO, is a free-to-air brand. This kinda puts the two brands in competition with one another. Since there’s now an free-to-air 24/7 PBS Kids Channel in existence (in which by the way, I’m talking about the revived version that launched as of January 16, 2017), I feel that both the PBS Kids block on PBS as well as the revived 24/7 PBS Kids Channel are togetherly considered to be the kings (👑👑) of over-the-air children’s TV, overtaking QUBO which replaced its nighttime lineup with paid programming. Because of QUBO now airing paid programming at night, the PBS Kids Channel is now able to take advantage of the gap in children’s programming to build it’s own audience. I’ve already checked out the 24/7 PBS Kids Channel and it was awesome (I give it a score of a 10/10). Have you already checked out the 24/7 PBS Kids Channel? IRYO on Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood but I did some further research on that show during my college intersession and saw how strong it was to the original source material by Fred Rogers in which he testified in 1969 that "emotions are mentionable and manageable".
As an tween (11 and 12 years olds) I can clearly say that FETCH! with Ruffruff man is one of the best science shows on PBS Kids, if not, the best to me. *TOO BAD YOU HAVE TO WAKE UP AT **5:30** IN THE MORNING JUST TO SEE AN EPISODE OF IT*
I love Clifford, because he is adorable and so cute when he was a puppy. The main show I find on here crazily annoying is Super Why, but the dog is so cute so that's a+.
well I was a kid in the eighties so a lot of those first shows you mentioned were the shows I watched and some of them I kind of wish were still around like 3-2-1 content and Newton apple. The concept of Apple was such a simple concept that actually there's no reason it could not be rebooted it was just simply people would write in ask a question and they would actually demonstrate the answer.
I remember watching 3-2-1 Contact, classic Electric Company, and Classic Sesame Street on Noggin VHS tapes my father recorded for us. I wish they still made kids' shows like that.

2:30 actually, Thomas didn't first air on PBS during this era. Thomas first on ITV in Britain in 1984, and episodes of Thomas would be used as segments on Shining Time Station. The actual Thomas TV show first aired in PBS in 2004.
The Electric Company that I would watch in 2011 and 2012 was really good. It was one of my favorite shows. I remember one time I saw this dude trapped in a box full of music notes, and you would have to fix a sentence with grammar or something like that to help him escape.
I was sad in the end of 2017 that Thomas & friends was not going to be on PBS Kids Anymore that show was everything to me in my childhood. By the way I started watching pbs kids when I was 1 or 2 like maybe in 2009 or 2010.

Weirdly enough,my country has aired a lot of these PBS kids shows as well on our equivalents to it, CBBC and Cbeebies. And even on our commercial kids channels. I'm from the UK btw.
I only watched it at my grandmas house and I very fondly remember watching dinosaur train at daycare and I only remember one episode where the orange dinosaur gets hurt a lot. I also remember watching smart cat and I was terrified of it. Also I hated peg + cat
Most of my damn childhood was spent watching PBS Kids! I remember I watched that and Nick Jr. when I would stay home from school due to being sick with Strep throat back when I was in elementary school.
I was in preschool when PTV was a thing and I still remember noticing the change to PBS Kids back in 2nd grade or so. No joke, the P Pals PBS logo after every show used to scare me and make me hide behind the coffee table as a wee tot because it came on so suddenly lol. Looking back, the P Pals era is the epitome of 90s aesthetics with the whole thing looking like sketches on a school notebook. It really complimented Sesame Street's calypso era really well.

I’m depressed that if you go to play the color mix game on the website, it’s not there. Then you go and find the old link, put it in your regular browser, only to find that PBS kids removes all of there flash based games. All of them. Not a single flash game remains.

Ah, I watched Noggin religiously, but I’d get burned out sometimes which is normal before regaining interest in Noggin and watching it again. So whenever that happened, the other channel I’d watch religiously was, you guessed it, PBS Kids.
I watched from 2009-2016 I watched Thomas & Friends (CGI version) Bob the Builder, peep in the big wide world, word world, Sid the science kid, miffy, Sesame Street, Arthur, curious George, super why, dinosaur train, the cat in the hat, Daniel Tiger, and the original Clifford. So does anyone else think the modern pbs kids theme songs aren't as good as the classics? Classic pbs kids had so many iconic themes such as barney and friends, the old sesame street intro, between the lions, cyberchase, arthur, clifford and so much more. But something about the new intros like daniel tiger's neighborhood, pinkalicious and peterrific, peg + cat, the next steps and ready jet go! They're just not grabbing my attention, they're just not catchy or memorable. Don't get me wrong, the classics did have a few that were either okay like dinosaur train, super why or word world, and they're some that are just downright terrible like barney and friends ( yeah i know i called it iconic, but even then it's still shite ) and of course caillou. And there are some modern pbs kids intros that are good like let's go luna and nature cat.
It's been almost 4 years since I made this comment, and while some of it is still true, my thoughts on some of these PBS Kids theme songs have changed. I still love the theme songs for Cyberchase, Arthur, Clifford and Between The Lions, but Super Why has become one of my new favorites. Peg+ Cat also grew on me, cause while it's short, it's also cute and catchy. Daniel and Pinkalicious's themes are pretty good, Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps has a nice sounding melody to it, and Ready Jet Go has Ashleigh Ball (Need I say more) Dinosaur Train and WordWorld's themes are great as well, and same goes with Let's Go Luna and Nature Cat. Also, since it's been quite a bit, new shows have come out with some banging theme songs. Alma's Way especially is amazing, but so is Hero Elementary and Work It Out Wombats. Oh, and as a bonus, here are my top 10 favorite PBS Kids theme songs. 10: The Magic School Bus 9: Zoboomafoo 8: Clifford The Big Red Dog (2000s) 7: Super Why 6: Liberty's Kids 5: Arthur 4: Wild Kratts 3: Between The Lions 2: WordGirl 1: CyberChase

Weirdly enough,my country has aired a lot of these PBS kids shows as well on our equivalents to it, CBBC and Cbeebies. And even on our commercial kids channels. I'm from the UK btw.

I only watched it at my grandmas house and I very fondly remember watching dinosaur train at daycare and I only remember one episode where the orange dinosaur gets hurt a lot. I also remember watching smart cat and I was terrified of it. Also I hated peg + cat
Most of my damn childhood was spent watching PBS Kids! I remember I watched that and Nick Jr. when I would stay home from school due to being sick with Strep throat back when I was in elementary school.

I was in preschool when PTV was a thing and I still remember noticing the change to PBS Kids back in 2nd grade or so. No joke, the P Pals PBS logo after every show used to scare me and make me hide behind the coffee table as a wee tot because it came on so suddenly lol. Looking back, the P Pals era is the epitome of 90s aesthetics with the whole thing looking like sketches on a school notebook. It really complimented Sesame Street's calypso era really well.

I’m depressed that if you go to play the color mix game on the website, it’s not there. Then you go and find the old link, put it in your regular browser, only to find that PBS kids removes all of there flash based games. All of them. Not a single flash game remains.

Ah, I watched Noggin religiously, but I’d get burned out sometimes which is normal before regaining interest in Noggin and watching it again. So whenever that happened, the other channel I’d watch religiously was, you guessed it, PBS Kids.

So does anyone else think the modern pbs kids theme songs aren't as good as the classics? Classic pbs kids had so many iconic themes such as barney and friends, the old sesame street intro, between the lions, cyberchase, arthur, clifford and so much more. But something about the new intros like daniel tiger's neighborhood, pinkalicious and peterrific, peg + cat, the next steps and ready jet go! They're just not grabbing my attention, they're just not catchy or memorable. Don't get me wrong, the classics did have a few that were either okay like dinosaur train, super why or word world, and they're some that are just downright terrible like barney and friends ( yeah i know i called it iconic, but even then it's still shite ) and of course caillou. And there are some modern pbs kids intros that are good like let's go luna and nature cat.
That Is a very Strong Point. I respect that.
It's been almost 4 years since I made this comment, and while some of it is still true, my thoughts on some of these PBS Kids theme songs have changed. I still love the theme songs for Cyberchase, Arthur, Clifford and Between The Lions, but Super Why has become one of my new favorites. Peg+ Cat also grew on me, cause while it's short, it's also cute and catchy. Daniel and Pinkalicious's themes are pretty good, Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps has a nice sounding melody to it, and Ready Jet Go has Ashleigh Ball (Need I say more) Dinosaur Train and WordWorld's themes are great as well, and same goes with Let's Go Luna and Nature Cat. Also, since it's been quite a bit, new shows have come out with some banging theme songs. Alma's Way especially is amazing, but so is Hero Elementary and Work It Out Wombats. Oh, and as a bonus, here are my top 10 favorite PBS Kids theme songs.
