    There was a little bit of a problem with wind hitting the mic. I found this when I used to record bands in the open air; so I made a little 'sock' out of thin foam, to go over the mic, which solved the problem. The band played brilliantly, and they have a very enthusiastic DoM, who has a great band under her. Please do give us more of these concerts, they are truly a blessing. Thank you, and well done band,

      I continue to be impressed with the British Army band Sandhurst, and the enthusiastic leadership and musicianship of its DoM. Bravo!

    A British Army band playing All Star by Smash Mouth. Glorious.

    Brilliant piece of Video by a Good Band. I was sceptical what was going to happen the Army Bands with these mergers, but this one appears to be very successful. They are the lead performers at this years Buxton Miltary Tattoo, and I will definitely be buying a ticket after watching this performance.

      @@militaryevents107 What’s wrong about it in general? It’s not much populated, pollution can be a problem in every town/city, but Bracknell isn’t that bad, considering how any performances like BAB Bands, it entertains the environment, and enjoyment by people. Not often Bracknell gets this, and if it wasn’t a ‘nice play’ they certainly wouldn’t have gone full swinging and dancing.

    I have a question: Do the former bands, of which the new band consists, still exist in any way or are they completely gone?
    Thank you!

      Haglasu sadly they are gone, these Bands were created to minimize the number of bands in the Army. This band BAB Sandhurst was formed from two bands, The Band of the Royal Corps of Signals and the Band of the Royal Logistics Corps. Those two bands will never be seen again, as this band is what replaced them. Hope this helps!

      Disbanded. There may be instances where some bands still keep their individual identities and/or traditions, but I can't be sure. They definitely won't be parading in their old uniforms.

      I am a Belgian citizen. In between the two worldwars we had over 300 armybands. For the moment we have only left 3 armybands, Army, navy and airforce.

      Sign of the Times. The Scots seem to have overcome it to a certain degree (thebands)...eg The Royal Regiment of Scotland now has many others under its wing but they are given numbers, Scots, 2Scots, etc. which helps identify them. As far as I can the actual soldiers are in the Royal Regiment Colours (formerly Black Watch). @@emptyangel

    Nice playing. Can someone explain to an oldie why 'hearing aids'? are in common use these days? Thanks.

    • @colinpinington3083
      @colinpinington3083 2 роки тому +2

      RM Brady. They aren't hearing aids they are ear defenders. Specifically designed for musicians to protect their hearing.

      @@colinpinington3083 Thanks Colin. I did wonder if that was the case but then I thought the whole idea of ensemble playing was to listen to all the other members. Surely no-one will go deaf standing next to a Clarinettist!?

      They are so comfortabel when you are in front of the drumsection. As a French hornplayer you have them often behind your back.

      That remains to be solved. They don;t just play outdoors, but indoors as well which means they are louder. I hope they are able to communicate as well with the Band Master. @@rmbandy835

      Indeed it seems that way...they have to advertise more in the newspapers, when these are happening.
